    I can confirm disarmed mechs will eject. Try it with stalkers and Wolverines. Assassin targets, bosses, and other must-kill objectives won't eject even if disarmed.
    Love what you're doing, its frustrating to see ppl on the forums trying to say max-tonnage drops are the only way to play. Objective focused, lightweight drops are way more fun and ridiculously profitable. Dont forget repair cost and time are acceptable even in combat zones, and speed out keeps ai from end-game bonzi charges.
    You need to tell pilots to "move to location", "form on me" is an assist command so they'll actively target your target and enemies hitting you.

      i think it depends highly on ones skills, a Mechjockey like Bara is probably able to finish the game with a 250ton max droplimit. however most ppl arent piloting Mechs like its a sunday beach stroll, and for them it will (most likely) be needed to run a 400 ton max lance in the last missions to even stand a chance. the spike is quite high for the last set of story missions, u get bombarded with wave after wave of assault mech lances and they field quite a deadly contingent of support troops aswell

      ​@@naomy1701 It mostly comes down to preference I'd say. I also play Mechwarrior games since the 90ies and played a lot of MWO until sadly, the game started stuttering a few years ago (still does on new PC). But most of the time, I want maximum stompage from a Mechwarrior game, so "Steiner Scout Lance" was deployed more than once in all my playthroughs and all the targets got scouted no matter what objective. I also did some Ninja runs e.g. lvl100 solo spider raid, it's fun every now and then, but not something I play Mechwarrior 5 for. I might play the "lightweight playstyle" more if it was more engaging with stuff like ECM, passive radar or MASC and if my lancemates weren't a bunch of Leeroy Jenkinses, if I had more commands for them and if they were able to use jump jets. Also, the game doesn't support or reward that playstyle in any way. There aren't even any bonuses for undertonnage afaik, so I just stick to what's most therapeutic for me and what the game does best: total destruction. If I was trying to make the game harder, I'd just plug in a joystick.
      That being said, if you chose to brawl (or your lancemates make that decicion for you), there are more factors at play than just skill vs. tonnage, like weapon tiers, AI pilot skills, Mech type and loadouts and probably the biggest one: the kamikaze swarm AI constantly spawning masses of units directly in front of, on top of and behind you (still happens after the patch). Enemies are playing the game of attrition. They don't plan to survive or complete a mission. The only tactic they ever seem to consider is "shoot where it hurts the finances"... and they are many and they can shoot! So what's best to bring? Imho, there are a few chassis that will excel in a brawl while not being too expensive to maintain. Depending on the progress of the campaign, I like Javelins, Centurions, Thunderbolts, Archers, Orions, Awesomes, Battlemasters, Banshee S's and on top of them all: the almighty Atlas AS7-D!
      Maximum armor? Check.
      4 medium lasers? Check.
      No expensive weapons in the arms? Check.
      Big Hardpoints in the side torsos? Check.
      Can be trusted to Cpt. Leeroy Jenkins? Check.
      Can level all 3 weapon skills? Check.
      Being surprisingly pleasant to pilot for a 100-tonner? Check.
      Can run multiple missions without repairing? Check.
      It's basically the AK-47 of assault mechs. If efficient, reliable stomping is your thing, it's hard to overlook the Atlas. On my first playthrough, I had 6 of them in the active mech bay, so I could bring at least 2 to each mission and do 3-5 missions in a row without going to an industrial hub. And what can I say... combined with the Nightstalker, the endgame was a walk in the park really...
      But which mechs to avoid? Well, I'd say Stock Jenners, Cicadas, Blackjacks, Riflemen, Jagermechs, Catapults, Stock Warhammers, Zeuses, AI piloted Stalkers, King Crabs... everything where most of the firepower comes from the weakly armored arms... except for the Nightstalker, of course. You just can't argue with 2 fully rotatable Gauss Rifles...

      Yeah i worked my tonnage all the way up to 400, now im bringing it down by experimenting with brawlers that move 64 kph lead by a me in a Blackjack or Firestarter. Lots of fun

    I wonder if you would want to install the better pilot by reputation mod. The more rep you have with the faction the better pilots you get. Could get pilot skill 40 while there are still 10-20's around them or even higher.

    One thing that gets me is that the buildings are amazingly detailed on the inside. Cant wait till they add fully urban enviroments to the games biome selection

    Heavy and assault pilots loose arms to swarms of light mechs found in every higher rep mission. When you start using assaults and heavies, its smart to have 2 pilots in light mechs for hunting other fast movers. High evasion skill pilots won't loose components any faster than anyone else, as other ai dont see them as threatening as your assaults. For extra fun, let your ai drive the big boys and shoot the enemy first. The whole squad will ignore you and your light mech, even as you core them to death from behind. Srms ftw.
    Sick light mechs on distant crawlers for some mech-fetch playtime and get some scouting too. I feel like oversharing, sorry. When you get to those hard defense missions, one atlas and 3 hunchbacks are 250 tons and the most armor per ton you can get.
    3 awesomes are 240 tons, so not optimal. You're gonna want some coop pilots for when things get harder.

    Enjoying all the mods that are coming, but I’m surprised to see people using the hard point limitation removal mod so quickly.
    I actually really enjoy the limitations of the hard points, it actually makes nearly all chassis and variants relevant to their assigned roles again.
    Like your standard ac 20 medium mech is the hunchback in most cases.
    And your ppc boat is the awesome. What is the point of these mechs if you can slap the same load out on similar mechs that weren’t designed to do that?
    I know it’s all just fun and you have to provide content, but wonky level of customisation isn’t that what mwo is for?

    With this mod, my WH has a gauss rifle plus PPC and it's my cockpit kill sniper. Also has 2 MLs and an SRM4. I put the Gauss and PPC on Fox 1 and chain them against non-mechs. Fox 2 is MLs for aerial targets mostly and Fox 3 is close in follow up to Fox 1.

    Other issue with that hard point size unlock, it lets larger weapons fit into smaller slots and ignores the critical slots requirement. A small head should be able to fit a Large weapon even though there is only one crit location for the weapon.
    I would love to see all the default builds be replaced with variants that make more sense.

      Likewise, I believe it's being worked on. I would love the MWO style loadout to be a thing, you get the hardpoint and as many slots are left over in the location and the rest is up to you. Makes a lot more sense to me.

    You should give the arm armor mod a try if you have not yet. Really makes several mechs actually viable. And not just a way to sacrifice weapons to the gods of war.

    The pilots would be better if you could build certain special ones all the way up to 60. That would make Lt. Freeman someone to keep if you built him up in the early and mid game. Painful to lose though!

    Quick question: With so many battlemechs and a consistent level of force size, why not set up two rotating sets of Battlemechs? While one is in repair, use the other. Rinse. Repeat. Then there's never question about what to use and the pilots receive constant training. If yo have two of the same Battlemech with different weapon systems, invert their paint schemes.

    IE the mod must flash OVER HEAT warnings in huge letters before you shutdown.....hahahaha. The Blackjack will not be one of the mechs were running (missing a leg, etc) Actually we will...after a quick repair...hahaha.

    Why not LRMs in the Javelin so it doesn't just charge in front of the heavier lancemates and get shredded.

      Only if he pilots it. I put two lrm tens on my javelin, and the AI will still have it run straight to the enemy point blank range, and then walk in a circle round the enemy doing nothing. So AI pilots in light mechs seem to always close, no matter their weapon load out. I noticed this when my Javelin pilot got zero damaged three drops in a row. So next drop I watched it run right up to a centurion and then run in a circle around the centurion doing absolutely nothing.

    The hardpoint mod is not cheating
    And I say that because in the original game MechWarrior mercenaries all you had was slots and how you filled your slots was your business
    when you ran out of slots you couldn't put anything else in that was the only restriction so removing the hard point restrictions is actually more of a pure game loyal to the franchise if you ask me in my opinion

    That Mech is not a Warhammer....that is a Frankenmech....
    I understand small chnages (PPC changing to Large Laser or Large ER-Laser) but such a Radikal Change that completely changes the Mech from a Warhammer into something different...sorry I cannot understand this

    in all seriousness, what is the point of limiting yourself to 250 tons when you let gauss rifles get loaded into small hard points? yeah it's your game and you can play it how you want and all but I'm just not finding it fun anymore. I have a lot of respect for you and your play skills, this just isn't something I enjoy. I'll keep watching because I like listening to you talk through the game but I"m gonna cringe every time you cheat a hard point and wish you wouldn't.
