Please don't destroy your bike frame trying to do this, I'm an idiot.

Hindsight is 20-20, however still worth saying - skip the internal battery and use that space for the controller.
I don't get the ebike laws...just give us a speed limit - all other restrictions are just stupid. Someone who is 160 kg needs much more power than someone who weighs 60 kg. Throttle, no throttle - petty, just petty shit from the constabulary.
Couldn't agree more!
Swapped the suntour system off my correra E vengeance for a yose 350w kit . New motor , battery and controller. The thing is about 25% more powerful and will hit 24 mph before the motor cuts out plus throttle option. 👍
Honestly a good choice - yose power stuff is lishui based and the motors are bafang clones. Reliable, greased well from factory, easy peasy done!
So it is doable to replace the x35 battery with something at a more reasonable cost - can you make my Orbea Gain D40 work again please? A "smaller" battery would suit me so maybe fit the controller and battery in the downtube.
Could the pedal assist sensor already on the bike by used instead of fitting the bottom bracket sensor?
The battery has gone on my Orbea gain. It is too expensive to replace. I have a Swytch ebike kit, I am going to see if I can fit it to the bike and use it to run the x35 motor!
As a cyclist of advancing years, I find the UK/European ebike assist laws brilliant. I can cycle normally but with just a bit of assistance making me feel 16 again :-)
you could just use angle grinder and grind that controller cooling fins to fit, or just cut it and sqeeze. Removing whole housing is pretty bad solution
I believe the 36v one is the right size and it's the 48v one that was too large! Oops
The laws in the UK for e-bikes are just ridiculous, my build's a 1500w one, I ride responsibly, so I don't care for the silly 250w & 15.5 mph laws, use both front & rear lights 'on' even during daylight hours so I'm seen, and I don't ride like an idiot.
I've owned a 250w 24v E-bike in the past, that was legal but underpowered, I feel much safer on my current E-bike that's 1500w that I built myself.
As someone else said, 250w of power just doesn't cut it for everyone.
Mxus does excellent powerful 250w, much more efficient and economical.
@@nicod974 I'll look into them, cheers ⚡
Having the kick to get out of the way of a car, lorry or bike thief is important to me, that's why my bike (allegedly) has a throttle and (allegedly) runs at over 250w... 😂
