I am 63 years young Fumi and I loooove you!!! I just started about 2 weeks ago eliminating sugar!! Up to day 3 I struggled hard!! After that the cravings got weaker and weaker. I drove past my favorite donut shop and didn't even care!! Sugar used to rule me, now I'm kicking sugar's butt!!!!
My sweet tooth is an extreme problem for me, I have cut down a lot, I realised though that if something is too sweet I feel sick,I had steroid injections 3 times due to different type of injuries my stomach is out of control, I have lost some weight, I have 5 bulging disc in my back plus osteoarthritis in the back on top of that so anything I do I am in excruciating pain, I am going to turn 52 in May and I am getting fed up, I am allergic to most fruits and shellfish,I but bulgar,wholewheat bread,rice is mixed with brown wheat rice, I don't use my scale in a long time, I will get the type of scale that you have recommended,I am not getting enough sleep due to the pains my eye bags and darkness under my eyes is too much as well.
I’m 55 and feeling weighed down by the menopause weight. I’ve gained a good 25 pounds over the past 5 years. Working from home hasn’t helped. I’ve purchased a juicer, a treadmill and a stationary bike . I just need the made up mind to be consistent, my sleeping is horrible. You’re looking great Fumi, thanks for the inspiration and sharing. I’m 53 and have the same scenario so this video was helpful. I started yesterday with no sugar except I do put a drip of agave in my coffee. We got this! Don’t give in or give up!
I wrote whole response and it disappeared 😫. I am 51 and WFH for over 8yrs. The weight started slowly gaining momentum during the pandemic, about 6 lbs. Last year, I gained 30! I finally bought a walking pad to use while I work, for at least a few hours. In December, I found Grow w/Jo here on YT and joined her website and have been following her workouts. As Fumi said, I don't weigh myself anymore. It's discouraging, but I can see a difference in my waist line. My clothes are fitting better and I feel more energetic. Her videos are doable. She has a great catalog that includes brief, but effective workouts. Good luck. I'm giving myself time. If it took me 9 months to gain the weight, then it will take me 9M to lose it. As long as I'm consistent, eat better, cut down sugar, make better choices and move my body, I'm happy. Good luck. BTW, the short workouts helped me to stay consistent. Who doesn't have 12 minutes
This really mimics Keto which has worked very well for me… I am 53 and I have lost over 30lbs within 4 months over a year ago and now is my lifestyle. I do 12 days Keto and two days off and it has been great.

This is what I want to see. This is very important to people’s life if your channel is about changing, lives, and giving people good advice. I think this kind of content will do. I agree! It’s more relatable to the everyday woman who is too busy living real life and have no time to indulge in other things, especially celebrity lifestyle and gossip. They add no value to our real lives, not like sensible living, financial smartness and living grateful, yet graceful lives while supporting our family and community.
When you said you once had knee fat...I subscribed!!! I dont like this knee fat. Im 70 pounds overweight and started going back to the Gym 3 weeks ago. Im 49 and I get it.. you start feeling old and invisible with all this weight. When you said, when you got your waist back you felt young again...that also did it for me. Im too young to feel old. Fumi every time you laugh I laugh! 😄 It's so contagious! I will be 62 in July. When I last saw the nurse practitioner for my physical she said she wanted to be like me when she grows up; that I was the healthiest patient that she had. I've been into health & fitness since I was 18. Love to encourage others the way you do (but not on camera). Thank you for making aging so much fun! And laughing! 😅

I found that a good breakfast, a mid morning snack (often fruit), a light luch, an afternoon snack (usually a salad) and a resonablr dinner helped me loose more and feel better. I stopped eating white flour and excess sugar years ago. Also staying properly hydrated prevented the cravings. Sleep is where I struggle. Insomnia has been a lifelong enemy. Meditation and "me time" has helped with that. 30 minuets a day spent on self care does amazing things for your health!
At 50 this is the best channel that i bumped into.... I will get my self confidence back! For myself because i love myself... Its 20 me love! I pray for consistency and so help me God
I am in my '70s. My doctor told me to be very careful about drinking juices. He says that juice send sugar through your body at an alarming rate. Always choose whole fruit. Your body can absorb the sugars more slowly.
@@judithsakala4944 thanks. However, the doctor says that fresh fruit smoothies will send the sugar into your system at a more rapid rate. He says that I must take time to chew the fruit throughout the day. That allows the good vitamins and sugar to be absorbed slowly. It never occurred to me that the ground up fruit would be absorbed to quickly.

Thank you , I 63 and hurt my back at 40 and it’s been down hill from there up and down in weight Trying again but my legs give out and have to have back surgery again 😢 I am believe GOD that losing that weight I’ll lose that back surgery. My nerves blocked because my spinal canals narrowing. You are an encouragement.
Hi , I lost 128 pounds on the( 2009 Canada food guide),look it up on computer. It’s real eating and very self explanatory. Took 18,months to come off, first four months I lost 40 lbs. then I started to walk with a push chair, and added very gentle yoga ,IE : yoga stretches on the floor program only,( as I have a back spinal injury also). I was 285lbs when I started. I have kept it off for 15 yrs now, however I did gain back 30lbs since about 2019, from stress I think,( husband had a stroke) or it could have been menopause. I can’t live without bread! So i make it at home but i use wholemeal flour and eat with almond butter ❤❤! Just turned 59 last week and im 5’10 / 65kg. Yoga 5 times a week 30 mins ! Weights 3-4 times a week .
Cardio is important. Cardio is for the heart. Yes, it can reduce muscle mass if too much is done (45+). I am a personal trainer & physical therapy asst. and in health & fitness 32 years. If one has health issues or on meds, please consult your physician and along with the information Fumi has suggested, speak to or consult a fitness professional before beginning any exercise regimen in case you have past injuries or other health related issues. Nutrition is one of the key areas to focus on whether you’re gaining, loosing or maintaining. Make sure it’s done the healthy way, because it is a lifestyle! I pray everyone reach their health & fitness goals this year. Also, make sure you have positive individuals around you who will assist you and be there for you to succeed. Beware of the doubters and those spreading negativity. Fumi is a great cheerleader and is leading by example!😊

Ohh so true im 57 and i live, i love. I used to eat sugary things, sweet tooth, cakes i stopped eating all. No sugar in juices, no bread , no rice has been replaced with quinoa. No pasta, no white flour. Breakfast are light as Fumi suggested. Intermittent fasting does help too. Sleep 💤 😴 and rest is important. Eat food in small portions. No heavy meal after 6pm. Keep hydrated, no smoking 🚭 i never did nor drinking alcohol. Keep positive , leave stress behind don't take it with you. Cutting that SUGAR totally. Exercise exercise 💪 is also key. I move from size 12 to 10 then to a size 8. All pants 👖 doesn't fit anymore. Had to change wardrobe. All those oldies as Fumi said fits once more. I'm 138 lbs now I'm on the slim and sexy side again. One annoying issue i have during menopause are HOT FLASHES 😢 hot 🔥 heat is on and off regularly. I live and i love Fumi nation
I’m 57 and on the journey to regain my health. I just retired after 32 years of teaching primary grades. I have high blood pressure and prediabetes. I want to lose 25 pounds and get fit.
@@TothePointJB2012 All of Fumi's tips are sound medical advise. Cut the complex sugars (fruits are okay, avoid things in a box or wrapper) and start walking everyday, even 15 minutes at a time and you WILL lose weight! Also, cut out all wheat products. Today's wheat causes inflammation in the body. If you must have some bread, eat sourdough bread, but sparingly. All the best to you!

I can’t stress this enough, but please cut out alcohol immediately. I prioritize myself and sleep. I exercise daily no more than 30 to 40 minutes daily. I started cooking all my own food, barely eating out the biggest biggest thing that was my success was the rest, the no alcohol and the daily movement not stressful everybody’s different. I’m highly anxious so when I exercise very hard, it does the opposite what is supposed to do I have a lot of cortisol that gets thrown into my body.

Me and my mother was just having this conversation this week. She's in her later 60's but she looks fantastic. She eats sweats rarely and when she does it's the serving size. She loves walking and riding her bike, etc. She has beautiful skin and me too. I make my own blends for my skin care. Also, I learned that sweets helps yeast to grow in your stomach. You need more good bacteria, such as probiotic supplements, than yeast for digestion. Sleep and breakfast are absolutely needed to function at your best. Now a days, people are losing sleep because life requires so much to live. You got to find some "me time." And I also learned that some relationships have to go to gain some piece and happiness. So, as you mentioned, it's very important to care for yourself. If you don't, it will show up in your later years.

Yes Fumi, I totally agree with everything you said here in your video💯 I used to be hardcore into cardio, doing it religiously. This worked for me for awhile until it didn’t. I started putting weight back on and couldn’t understand why. I eventually learned that I had to cut WAY back on the cardio (especially now that I’m over 40) and get more into strength training. I’ve also started tracking macros, and eating my heaviest meals early in the day. This has worked wonders for me, and I have already lost about 10 pounds 😊 Thank you so much for these self-love videos, they really keep me focused on my own journey. I literally found you on IG and thought you are so beautiful!!! I followed just for that and your makeup line. You have empowered me just watching this video and I have to be honest, I have never had a snatched body. At 49, I have more information to learn how my body works. I had to deal with the psychological effects as well, what I was thinking was negative, my self perception was negative so I had to begin to heal. I found information about intermittent fasting and now your simple exercise videos. My issue was not being consistent and the boring routine of working out. I hate to workout but it is necessary. I just started your exercise video today and I definitely feel the burn. I have so many videos to use that will get me to my goal but I want to say thank you so much for who you are and what you do. I feel more confident and have a better focus for my health journey.

Fumi!! U are the real deal honey! I just came across your channel and definitely subscribing, cuz baby you are spitting straight facts! I am 42yrs old and I've noticed that im getting to a phase where I for sure can't do what I used to be able to do 20yrs, even 10yrs ago! I did a 30 day challenge to myself which consisted of no sugar, no junk food or fast food and I lost inches off my waist and muscle was popping. I got off the challenge and decided to wein myself back on to that stuff and it was a mistake. I'm not doing that again, I'm making this a lifestyle and not a challenge 💪🏾 you are definitely goals❤❤

Life always throws a surprise. I just turned 41 and since I turned 40 I've noticed a lot of things that I did in my 20-30s don't work anymore. I find it soooo much harder to lose the weight. Nothing seems to work but I refuse to give up. All of what you said I kind of knew already but wasn't implementing it much. Now I'm going to try harder. I tend to stress eat and after getting this stressful job and losing my father in 2022, I just didn't care about what I ate. You have motivated me to try harder. I needed to hear this today.

My sweet tooth is an extreme problem for me, I have cut down a lot, I realised though that if something is too sweet I feel sick,I had steroid injections 3 times due to different type of injuries my stomach is out of control, I have lost some weight, I have 5 bulging disc in my back plus osteoarthritis in the back on top of that so anything I do I am in excruciating pain, I am going to turn 52 in May and I am getting fed up, I am allergic to most fruits and shellfish,I but bulgar,wholewheat bread,rice is mixed with brown wheat rice, I don't use my scale in a long time, I will get the type of scale that you have recommended,I am not getting enough sleep due to the pains my eye bags and darkness under my eyes is too much as well.

I’m 55 and feeling weighed down by the menopause weight. I’ve gained a good 25 pounds over the past 5 years. Working from home hasn’t helped. I’ve purchased a juicer, a treadmill and a stationary bike . I just need the made up mind to be consistent, my sleeping is horrible. You’re looking great Fumi, thanks for the inspiration and sharing. I wrote whole response and it disappeared 😫. I am 51 and WFH for over 8yrs. The weight started slowly gaining momentum during the pandemic, about 6 lbs. Last year, I gained 30! I finally bought a walking pad to use while I work, for at least a few hours. In December, I found Grow w/Jo here on YT and joined her website and have been following her workouts. As Fumi said, I don't weigh myself anymore. It's discouraging, but I can see a difference in my waist line. My clothes are fitting better and I feel more energetic. Her videos are doable. She has a great catalog that includes brief, but effective workouts. Good luck. I'm giving myself time. If it took me 9 months to gain the weight, then it will take me 9M to lose it. As long as I'm consistent, eat better, cut down sugar, make better choices and move my body, I'm happy. Good luck. BTW, the short workouts helped me to stay consistent. Who doesn't have 12 minutes

When you said you once had knee fat...I subscribed!!! I dont like this knee fat. Im 70 pounds overweight and started going back to the Gym 3 weeks ago. Im 49 and I get it.. you start feeling old and invisible with all this weight. When you said, when you got your waist back you felt young again...that also did it for me. Im too young to feel old. When I last saw the nurse practitioner for my physical she said she wanted to be like me when she grows up; that I was the healthiest patient that she had. I found that a good breakfast, a mid morning snack (often fruit), a light luch, an afternoon snack (usually a salad) and a resonablr dinner helped me loose more and feel better. I stopped eating white flour and excess sugar years ago. Also staying properly hydrated prevented the cravings. Sleep is where I struggle. Insomnia has been a lifelong enemy. Meditation and "me time" has helped with that. 30 minuets a day spent on self care does amazing things for your health!
At 50 this is the best channel that i bumped into.... I will get my self confidence back! For myself because i love myself... Its 20 me love! I pray for consistency and so help me God

I am in my '70s. My doctor told me to be very careful about drinking juices. He says that juice send sugar through your body at an alarming rate. Always choose whole fruit. Your body can absorb the sugars more slowly.

@@judithsakala4944 thanks. However, the doctor says that fresh fruit smoothies will send the sugar into your system at a more rapid rate. He says that I must take time to chew the fruit throughout the day. That allows the good vitamins and sugar to be absorbed slowly.

My doctor told me the same. I no longer drink juice of any kind and I only eat low sugar fruit, mainly berries, in moderation.

Hi , I lost 128 pounds on the( 2009 Canada food guide),look it up on computer. It’s real eating and very self explanatory. Took 18,months to come off, first four months I lost 40 lbs. then I started to walk with a push chair, and added very gentle yoga ,IE : yoga stretches on the floor program only,( as I have a back spinal injury also). I was 285lbs when I started. I have kept it off for 15 yrs now, however I did gain back 30lbs since about 2019, from stress I think,( husband had a stroke) or it could have been menopause. I can’t live without bread! So i make it at home but i use wholemeal flour and eat with almond butter ❤❤! Just turned 59 last week and im 5’10 / 65kg. Yoga 5 times a week 30 mins ! Weights 3-4 times a week .

Cardio is important. Cardio is for the heart. Yes, it can reduce muscle mass if too much is done (45+). I am a personal trainer & physical therapy asst. and in health & fitness 32 years. If one has health issues or on meds, please consult your physician and along with the information Fumi has suggested, speak to or consult a fitness professional before beginning any exercise regimen in case you have past injuries or other health related issues.
Nutrition is one of the key areas to focus on whether you’re gaining, loosing or maintaining. Make sure it’s done the healthy way, because it is a lifestyle! I pray everyone reach their health & fitness goals this year. Also, make sure you have positive individuals around you who will assist you and be there for you to succeed. Ohh so true im 57 and i live, i love. I used to eat sugary things, sweet tooth, cakes i stopped eating all. No sugar in juices, no bread , no rice has been replaced with quinoa. No pasta, no white flour.
Breakfast are light as Fumi suggested. Intermittent fasting does help too. Sleep 💤 😴 and rest is important.
Eat food in small portions. No heavy meal after 6pm.
Keep hydrated, no smoking 🚭 i never did nor drinking alcohol.
Keep positive , leave stress behind don't take it with you.
Cutting that SUGAR totally.
Exercise exercise 💪 is also key.
I move from size 12 to 10 then to a size 8. All pants 👖 doesn't fit anymore. Had to change wardrobe. All those oldies as Fumi said fits once more. I'm 138 lbs now I'm on the slim and sexy side again.
One annoying issue i have during menopause are HOT FLASHES 😢 hot 🔥 heat is on and off regularly.

Cut the complex sugars (fruits are okay, avoid things in a box or wrapper) and start walking everyday, even 15 minutes at a time and you WILL lose weight! Also, cut out all wheat products. Today's wheat causes inflammation in the body. If you must have some bread, eat sourdough bread, but sparingly. All the best to you!

I can’t stress this enough, but please cut out alcohol immediately. I prioritize myself and sleep. I exercise daily no more than 30 to 40 minutes daily. I started cooking all my own food, barely eating out the biggest biggest thing that was my success was the rest, the no alcohol and the daily movement not stressful everybody’s different. I’m highly anxious so when I exercise very hard, it does the opposite what is supposed to do I have a lot of cortisol that gets thrown into my body.

Me and my mother was just having this conversation this week. She's in her later 60's but she looks fantastic. She eats sweats rarely and when she does it's the serving size. She loves walking and riding her bike, etc. She has beautiful skin and me too. I make my own blends for my skin care. Also, I learned that sweets helps yeast to grow in your stomach. You need more good bacteria, such as probiotic supplements, than yeast for digestion. Sleep and breakfast are absolutely needed to function at your best. Now a days, people are losing sleep because life requires so much to live. You got to find some "me time." And I also learned that some relationships have to go to gain some piece and happiness. So, as you mentioned, it's very important to care for yourself. If you don't, it will show up in your later years.

Yes Fumi, I totally agree with everything you said here in your video💯 I used to be hardcore into cardio, doing it religiously. This worked for me for awhile until it didn’t. I started putting weight back on and couldn’t understand why. I eventually learned that I had to cut WAY back on the cardio (especially now that I’m over 40) and get more into strength training. I’ve also started tracking macros, and eating my heaviest meals early in the day. This has worked wonders for me, and I have already lost about 10 pounds 😊 Thank you so much for these self-love videos, they really keep me focused on my own journey. I literally found you on IG and thought you are so beautiful!!! I followed just for that and your makeup line. You have empowered me just watching this video and I have to be honest, I have never had a snatched body. At 49, I have more information to learn how my body works. I had to deal with the psychological effects as well, what I was thinking was negative, my self perception was negative so I had to begin to heal. I found information about intermittent fasting and now your simple exercise videos. My issue was not being consistent and the boring routine of working out. I hate to workout but it is necessary. I just started your exercise video today and I definitely feel the burn. I have so many videos to use that will get me to my goal but I want to say thank you so much for who you are and what you do. I feel more confident and have a better focus for my health journey.

I am 42yrs old and I've noticed that im getting to a phase where I for sure can't do what I used to be able to do 20yrs, even 10yrs ago! I did a 30 day challenge to myself which consisted of no sugar, no junk food or fast food and I lost inches off my waist and muscle was popping. Life always throws a surprise. I just turned 41 and since I turned 40 I've noticed a lot of things that I did in my 20-30s don't work anymore. I find it soooo much harder to lose the weight. Nothing seems to work but I refuse to give up. All of what you said I kind of knew already but wasn't implementing it much. Now I'm going to try harder. I tend to stress eat and after getting this stressful job and losing my father in 2022, I just didn't care about what I ate. You have motivated me to try harder. I needed to hear this today.
Omg I’m so glad I ran across your video at 63 exercising 3x to 5x’s a week just like you I feel great after ditching the sugars years ago but will have sugar once a week very very small amount. You gave me more encouragement I thank you !
