Garage Built TV I absolutely agree, tramp is definitely a massive contributor to the killing of these transmissions. I also believe the shock load of going from no grip (burnout) to traction in upper gears does them no favours either. It’s amazing to see how long you can get a gearset to last with a little mechanical sympathy. I have a friend with a supercharged v6 ecotek (basically an updated Buick v6) who’s putting 500hp through a t5, which has survived quite well for 2 years. Most would say that’s absolutely impossible.
Question: I've got an 09 awd crv with a bzha, does the same concept still apply? I want to put some power to this thing but I can't find any solid info on how much the transmission can really take
Hey can you point me towards the direction or info on how to get a cable speedometer gauge to work with a kseries trans. I know the cannibal's pretty much straight forward with the e153. And there's the tapping vss to a electronic cluster. I'm just confuse about the cable driven one(does it require the conversion?) and if the vss sync correctly with the gauge. You definitely deserve a lot more props bro!

Sitting at 509whp on my 8th gen. Stock long bock and trans. Synchros are definitely worn. 158k miles on her now. But I am going to build it with longer ratios and a 4.38 final drive. Also building hne block to 1k HP rating but will sit tops 750whp. Key is to not push things to the breaking point. Fluid changes are key. And good fluid

I have a 2015 si That will be making a little over 500hp on 93 and e85 roughly 600hp.it is my daily so it will be on 93 for a while but from what I’ve been seeing and hearing fourth gear is like glass and will not hold pass 450 hp which is about 380-390 torque. Just looking for advice or if it could hold the 500hp. Any tips on or information is greatly appreciated

First of all thanks for your video, that confirms the issues we had with the honda oem gear oil, even on a standard integra type R, after 4 to 5 pulls in the 1/4 mile, the oil gets hot and the gears starts to get hard to engage. Also I would like to share another experience with the torco RTF GL6, as I heard you mentioned the Torco. Me and my friends we all drive honda integras turbo with 500hp and more. We had some issue with the syncos, with both of the standard and the carbon too, and we couldn't figure it out what was the problem as we all had the same problem. final attempt was to change the oil, and we tried liqui moly gear oil. Immediately we felt smoother gear change, and problem was solved after all does money wasted on syncros!
How long did you run this transmission for and for how much abuse? I grenaded my stock Si transmission in 4 weeks at 600whp and wasn't being an idiot. I have since swapped an EP3 5 speed gearset in and am nervous that it too will let go.

My k20a2 motor and box was from a type r dc5 so mines lsd I’m pretty sure hopefully my setup will handle 450wheel and I can’t wait to start after seeing these couple recent videos
Does gripping really save gears? I wanted to put an ep3 transmission with 4.3 fd ~500hp but I was thinking the longer the gear the better traction but the more load would be directed in the gear 🤔
I'm currently running a base RSX 5spd in my MR2 now, 424hp @ 15psi. I like the gearing the way it is now but I hate not having a 6th gear or LSD. It's totally budget bought I bought a 2012+ Civic Si with 4.7 FD but I'm only using the trans to take out the 6th gear set and factory LSD to swap onto my current 5spd. What do you think, what fluid are you running and how often do you change it...I'd rather follow what worked for you.
1. Just to much power on the stock engine. I was estimated around 700hp when it blew. 2. Just depends on your driving style and the type of fluid you use.
They can hook! Look at my videos. I’m making over 700wheel on stock trans for over 2 years. I also believe it’s all in the fluid also. I also change mines regularly
Doesn't the E153 have 3 out of the 4 mounts already in place? Where if you use the K20 tranny, you have to have them fabricated. No need to mess with the shifter cables with the E153. Wheel hop is another transmission killer. I forgot to say that in the video. Make sure your suspension is setup correctly also!

Great video. Just finished my K24A2 turbo swap for my MR2. Its at about 500whp. Has a 6 speed with LSD from a Civic.

J-Eric 2 years with a full season of drag racing. I used torco rtf fluid to help longevity

In my opinion a 4.3 fd is perfect.
