Hey. From another black person...where did you stay? Was it cool? Was it a long trip? I'm thinking about going for 3 weeks to a month. Did it seem pet friendly? Did you use America money or exchanged it? Any tips?
@tashahenderson8721 I'm going again next month on the 10th. For another 3 weeks. Everyone was friendly in every way, you carry yourself appropriately and you show respect and you get it from everyone. The kindness was immeasurable. Prepare yourself though, you need at least two months in advance before you book obviously holidays are coming through. It's a bit more expensive. But we're talking about a 28 hour one-way trip. It's because of the layovers. And then you have a 14-hour flight to Taiwan. You can easily Google that. I recommend Expedia. Pet friendly absolutely. Just use your Visa card or master everywhere and you're good. Doesn't hurt to use the ATM either and you can easily get cash. It was typhoon season for me so unfortunately a lot of the time it was raining but it was just a normal day. Bring yourself some wipes unless you're ready to have a water hose shooting up your ass when you use the restroom. Haha! Whatever you do, get an Airbnb that has a full kitchen and make sure you get air conditioning in multiple rooms. Check the bathroom to make sure it has a hot water supply for the shower. Otherwise it's cold showers all day. Do not forget to hit the malls up. Anything and everything, and you're paying a 10th of the price. Just decide on what your reason is. I was going there to meet my wife. Now I'm going back to get the k1 visa process started. Good luck to you and have the best time!

My boyfriend did that painting 😂😂😂 it’s one of 3 variations and he never signed it when he consigned it to a gallery, so it’s been lost to him since then, it’s crazy seeing it here ! On our next visit we’re going to try and find them !
I was going to say. GRAB that fucking painting. It’s priceless! I’m a professional Tattooer. I NEVER sign my shit… why? Ruins it and I’m lazy… plus my dumbass somehow came to the conclusion that if I don’t sign my pieces well hey! Everyone is going to know I DID IT. Pffffffft the fuck do I think I am! No one would know, and my luck would be become something famous and in my lifetime I would have the regret of not signing anything I’m proud of… but I’m never proud of it unless I see it a good 2-3 months after. So I learned I have to shelf my work before I price it. Or else it’s just trashed mush…. If ya don’t do this, switch between pieces every week and DONT LOOK AT it for at least 2 weeks. 3-4 pieces goin is good for me at a time. No rules apply, or rather they’re rubbery and no time is unnecessary for it to be done. Only switch them if you’re not liking it and it’s hit the jumbled horrible look for no reason. It’s the same as saying a word over and over, then it send your mind into another dimension of understanding? That with art…. I’m sure ya nnow all of this. Also the. Janice’s of you seeing your dudes art is like way further than winning the lottery. Luke exponentially increases. So if thats true that is one of thee craziest coincidences I have ever seen in my lifetime.
@@Tattootin so funny enough my partner is also a tattoo artist! But a long overdue update so here we go: we went to the gallery and after about 15 solid minutes of searching, we found it! But, this was one of three, they were a series, and we could only find the one pictured here. So my partner explained the situation and after some negotiating they allowed him to sign it! However, he then asked about the other 2 as he consigned all 3 together, and evidently they must have sold but they, and i quote, “don’t want to check the records….thats a lot of work”. Now, this is the philippines and unfortunately the amount of money the other two sold for was enough to not want to be honest, if you catch my drift. So he naturally kept pressing cause, well, its his money and he deserves it. But after probably 40 minutes of me wandering this place and him talking, we left empty handed with even emptier promises to contact us when/if the other painting sells. So it was very bittersweet, but nonetheless, like you said, a one in a million chance that we had to take!

Public restrooms in the Philippines doesn't have toilet papers because most of them have bidet to wash or if it's in a common public areas (the not so fancy one) you'll find inside a big drum full of water and a small buckets/dippers that you'll take and carry inside the stall. Toilet papers are usually outside because it's usually for wiping your hands after washing to dry. If you really need it, you have to carry your own or take as many as you want from the outside before you enter the stall. Also, Filipinos prefer wet wipes if there's no bidet or water since it feels more clean, i think?

This isn't an insult to Taiwanese. It's just the way it is.
When they make their own food, it's AMAZING!!! Except stinky tofu. 🤢
@@times_is_illmatic9851nah the iced cap is exactly the same. Especially since it's the only coffee there worth buying.
American fast food is nothing missed
Even as an American, the McDonalds they have there taste better and way more variety in the menu!! I even cried when I had to leave the country 😂
FILIPINO FOOD IS SO UNDERRATED! None of my friends have ever tried Filipino food, and couldn't name even one single dish... they're missing out though. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
My boyfriend did that painting 😂😂😂 it’s one of 3 variations and he never signed it when he consigned it to a gallery, so it’s been lost to him since then, it’s crazy seeing it here ! On our next visit we’re going to try and find them !
Woah! That’s crazy! It definitely left an impression!
I saw that painting in Silahis Center shop. Fingers crossed for you!
Thank you so much! I just let him know! He’s excited. We go in December so we’re going to go on the hunt for it !
@@ImjustthemessengerI hope you guys find it
I was going to say.
I cant with the 'pre-production jolibee' 😂😂😂
so hilarious 😂😂
A fighting cock (cockfighting is legal here in the Philippines). Of course, if it loses in the actual cockfight, the fryer will be its destiny.

I think their point was that filipinos are not that different from americans seeing as a big part of our modern and urban culture is inspired by the US.
Our movies, our fashion, our tv shows, even food and technology.
ALSO meme culture and social media which is from the west lmao.
The filling station is a great place to eat and take photos. Truly one of a kind place
Pop culture icons in a 50's style diner/restaurant is a vibe. Went there for my 22nd birthday, and it was a hell of a night.
We love Filling Station. It's like a museum of vintage things. And it is open 24 hrs!

I think jeepneys is like a symbol of Filipinos' "bayanihan" since you always have to pass your fare from passenger to passenger until it gets to the driver. Also, if anybody whose older than you doesn't know your name they'll call you "oy pogi" or hey handsome in English
Which is actually an insult, because it's usually reverse psychology.
No one has ever call me like that, it's always usually just "beh or bata(kid)", but I am talking from my experience so it may not be the same for others.
(Also I'm not a kid, it's kind of just a thing where for ex. A grandmother calling an adult "bata" or kid in english. They don't necessarily mean that that adult is a kid, it's just a way of calling someone without being disrespectful. I don't know how to explain it.)
@@jarj1Maybe it means "son" or "daughter"?
You ever sit in a jeepney 35 Celsius out 40 inside stuffed in it like a sardine can. Not pleasant at all no thanks.
But the people are nice
A barber shop called Sylvester's Salon is still my favorite.
Hahaha! That is a random street ROOSTER not the chickens used in Jollibee which came from chicken farms. And the labeling of snacks like for nuts, "Growers" has been around since I studied in Grade 1 many, many years ago.

I've only recently come back to the Philippines after 10 years for a vacation, the crocs shocked me as well. So I finally bought a pair, which was $60 after conversion. ($70 for a similar pair from a US Croc store)
I bursted out when she point out the number 13 “The Painting” looking at the painting seems connected with the “Friday the 13th” do you get the rhyme there? Aaay! 😎👌🏼✨
I remember every Sunday morning after going to Mass we would go back home for brunch and have Champorado and BBQ pork on the side it was the best!
Every Filipino I've ever met has been cool and became good friends

As a Filipina I'm so happy we got Shake Shack a few years ago. See there are companies with money bringing in the huge chains, I'm just waiting for a Karen's diner to arrive 😂
It's crazy to think that Shake Shack and Panda Express are considered fast food when they're pretty expensive! More than McD's and KFC certainly are.

I love Phillipino food. Worked with some ladies from there and boy could they cook! Plus the snacks and sweets you can buy in stores with Phillipino sections even here in the deep south of the USA. Oh that ice cream...
