my Wife and I visited a few years ago, and boy, we were blown away by the hospitality. We learnt a lot from the Pinoy way of life and our experience there has enhanced our life abundantly. Our life is no longer based around material possessions. Spanish language was taught in college before like 30 years ago but later on scrapped totally. Therefore the older folks know the basic Spanish words but overall, Filipinos don't speak Spanish. Filipinos speak English because Americans were better and brought lots of teachers from America. 😊
More likely he was mentally ill or under the influence. The Filipino culture is generally more conservative than most, where modesty is the general rule. Being stark naked on a public road is not acceptable, and most like illegal. Sounds like you were being overcharged for the Kawasan tour. The average price I believe is $40-$50 that includes transport, canyoneering and lunch. Sorry you didnt get to do that. Maybe you can come back ❤💙
If you like historical places you can visit Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. It is a historical resort (but you can pay a day pass for a cheaper price) it shows what Manila may have looked like before. They also have a mini one in Quezon City. You may also want to look into Vigan (the most preserved colonial city) and Batanes (has precolonial stone houses and the island has New Zealand vibes).
Thanks for positive thoughts about the Philippines, this could be attributed to kind and always smiling filipino people, the cheap and affordable food, the natures specially in countrysides. I hope you enjoyed your stay in country... please always be safe. I say it again for the appreciation ❤
It is illegal to be fully naked in public areas, even too much revealing clothes on the beach are not allowed. Probably the one she saw is having some mental issues or maybe high on drugs. BTW, thank you for visiting the Philippines, be safe and always ask the locals for any help you want. I'm pretty sure they are happy also to extend their support.
Goodluck to both you on your journey and thank you so much for including the Philippines as one of your lists of countries to visit and hope you will be able to go farther places within that country.
When I was still a student I was walking my way to the university nearby and I passed by a public market and there was a naked woman up ahead along my path. I was so scared so I crossed to the other side of the road and quickened my pace and, occasionally, looking over my right shoulder to make sure she was not after me. It wasn't a pretty sight. I think her brain was tumbling inside her head.

Hi Jacob & Jenny. Here's an explanation on some topics you've tackled on this video: *naked person - PH doesn't have a nude tribe. What you saw was probably a mentally-challenged person or just seeking attention. It's rare to see some grown person in the street wearing nothing. There was an incident happened some months or a year ago I guess where a naked man walked in the railway of MRT in Metro Manila. The man was caught by the authority for scandalous behavior. *Hispanic Philippines - The Philippines was Spain's colony for about 333 years. They had a huge influence on the culture and Catholicism is predominantly the main RELIGION amongst other Asian countries. Some of local FOOD have Hispanic/Latino touch like Leche Flan (milk flan), Arroz Valenciana (a paella of some sort), mazapan (a sweet treat in some provinces). LANGUAGE - If you guys get more involved with the locals, you may hear some words that sounds Spanish. PH have tons of loanwords from Spain that most Filipinos aren't aware of those: kutsara (cuchara/spoon), tinidor (tinedor/fork), kusina (cocina/kitchen), kutsilyo (cochillo/knife), bintana (ventana/window), asul [bughaw (azul/blue)], berde [luntian (verde/green)], pantalon (pantalones/pants), asukal (azucar/sugar), kalye (calle/street). . . . .and many more.
J an J - thank you for this wonderful and informative video! I am planning to visit the Philippines soon from Seattle....thank you for sharing your experiences!
Hi Jacob and Jenny. I believe that man you saw fully naked is suffering from a mental condition maybe due to his addiction to drugs or depression. Next one is, some of our grandparents or those who study from University can speak Spanish because it is one of the languages being taught however they already removed it now and it's up to the student's decision if he/she will take it. Thank you for enjoying the Philippines. Balik po kayo (come back again).
I am Filipino by birth but an American citizen who lives in CA for more than half of my life. I can tell you that what you experienced about the naked guy: that is not normal. Never even heard that kind of experienced from relatives that visit or still lives there. More than likely, he is a mentally ill man or on drugs. Filipinos are modest in nature and life styles but happy hospitable people. I am glad that you have mostly great adventure in the Philippines. Happy travel.

If it’s a kid, that’s normal, but if a man that’s not normal. He might be on drugs. Just leave him alone you’re be alright. He was brave, give him credit being bold.
Before, the education here in the Philippines teaches spanish and even my older cousin knew how to sing our Philippine anthem as spanish, but it soon disappeared (in our parts, I don't know on other regions) only some words remained something as simple as the numbers.
Regarding people speaking Spanish... there is the dialect Chavacano in Zamboanga City which is in Mindanao island. It could be considered Spanish Creole. Other than that lots of people do speak Spanish there which i think is more similar to what it sounds like from Spain.
For transportation, jeepneys are travelling depends on their route (usually you can see that on their cardboard displayed on thier front window). For example: MOA to pasay, that is back and forth. Or Pasay to LRT station. They have a specific route, you just have to ask a local which jeepney going to a certain place. Even us who are on a different district or even different province tends to visit, say BGC. We wouldnt know which jeepney to ride unless we ask the local on that place. Or like a person living in Makati tried to visit Pasig, they wouldnt know which jeepney to ride unless they ask the jeepney driver itself if this one is on route to pasig. Sometimes if Im new to the place, I would sit in front, beside the driver so that I can ask him directly if we arrived at the destination. Quite adventurous if you ask me. Cause it's scary to get lost or if you have an appointment, let say a job interview. You wouldnt want to get lost because you pick the wrong route and end up late. Lol. But yeah, Grab is more efficient as you just need to type a certain destination and the map would route you directly. For bus, I usually go to the bus station and ask the operator there on which one I should be riding. I totally understand you guys how frustrating it is if you dont know the system. And it's a good thing that Grab exist for this reason. For us it's very expensive (cause jeepney and bus are cheaper alternative than Grab) if the destination is too far away but I can say it's reasonable because of convenience and comfort while travelling. And you don't need to drop off somewhere and transfer to a different mode of transportation because that jeepney can accommodate you to a certain point and the destination is too far away. So you need to ride another one to get to your final destination. Sometimes you need to ride 3 different vehicle in order to get to a specific destination. You get what I mean? Haha. Hope my explanation is clear and understandable. LOL 😂
If you want to save money, you can travel by yourselves skipping the organized tour which is mostly done on limited time as organizers work within a given schedule Whereas, if you do travelling by yourselves you can do it in a leisurely manner
I saw your blog in the Phils. particularly in Cebu the Kawasan Falls about 2hrs from Kawasan, I agree those canyoneering are way too expensive. I currently reside in CT. Hopefully you'll go back to Cebu. Thank you for visiting our island.❤
Excellent observations about the friendliness of Filipinos ---- known all over for their welcoming and kind nature ---- also if you don't mind this suggestion, Jenny --- there are very good hair salons there --- you might want to visit one --- with your blonde good looks ---- you'll be a movie star!
we have words that are spanish especially in the Visayas and Mindanao region. in my province in Leyte we count in Spanish and there are terms that are spanish also.
I am so sorry you had to experience that in our country :( I've experienced that too when i was in college walking in the street but the man was enjoying himself in the sidewalk and I was traumatized.
That naked guy story was super funny. 😂 Yeah, he's probably either stoned, drunk, or crazy. Filipinos generally are conservative, especially about public nudity. That's why there are no designated clothing optional beaches anywhere in the country.

Next one is, some of our grandparents or those who study from University can speak Spanish because it is one of the languages being taught however they already removed it now and it's up to the student's decision if he/she will take it. Thank you for enjoying the Philippines. Balik po kayo (come back again).
We can’t wait to visit again!! :) thank you for watching!
That makes sense!! We had a great time there 🇵🇭 thank you so much for watching!

If it’s a kid, that’s normal, but if a man that’s not normal. He might be on drugs. Just leave him alone you’re be alright. He was brave, give him credit being bold.
I never seen like that . I am from there and this is the first time I heard this. Thank you for visiting my country.

It is a wonderful place!🇵🇭 Thank you for your kind words ♥️
Before, the education here in the Philippines teaches spanish and even my older cousin knew how to sing our Philippine anthem as spanish, but it soon disappeared (in our parts, I don't know on other regions) only some words remained something as simple as the numbers.
Regarding people speaking Spanish... there is the dialect Chavacano in Zamboanga City which is in Mindanao island. It could be considered Spanish Creole. Other than that lots of people do speak Spanish there which i think is more similar to what it sounds like from Spain.
Wow so interesting! Thanks for the information :)
LOL 😂
That is so helpful!! Thank you for sharing all that, we truly appreciate it :)
Thanks for visiting Philippines… hope you’ll come back
We definitely will! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much for the good impressions about the Phils ❤😊 when are you coming back nice people?
We hope to come back very soon!! ♥️ thank you so much for your comments!
If you want to save money, you can travel by yourselves skipping the organized tour which is mostly done on limited time as organizers work within a given schedule
Whereas, if you do travelling by yourselves you can do it in a leisurely manner
Thank you for your good comment for my country 🙏 God bless you both
It is a wonderful place! Thank you for watching 🇵🇭
I can't get over how cute Jenny is. You're a lucky guy, Jacob. ❤
You are so kind! Thank you friend :)

They are so kind! We love it! Thank you for your kind comment :)
im 60 and its not about the camera its all about the foreigner when i was young

Thank you so much friend♥️ you take care as well!
we have words that are spanish especially in the Visayas and Mindanao region. in my province in Leyte we count in Spanish and there are terms that are spanish also.
Wow so interesting!! Thanks for sharing :)
Some nice footage guys - we always enjoy your content.
We really appreciate that! Thank you so much :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel you're welcome
Thanks for your honesty.
Thank you for watching :)
I am so sorry you had to experience that in our country :( I've experienced that too when i was in college walking in the street but the man was enjoying himself in the sidewalk and I was traumatized.
Thankfully it did not change how much we loved The Philippines!! Thanks so much for your comment :)
That naked guy story was super funny. 😂 Yeah, he's probably either stoned, drunk, or crazy. Filipinos generally are conservative, especially about public nudity. That's why there are no designated clothing optional beaches anywhere in the country.
Hahahah we are glad you enjoyed it 😂 that makes sense! Thank you for your comment :)
I think you should visit el Salvador has many water falls and not that expensive maybe like $10 per person and beautiful black sand beaches
That sounds so amazing!! Thanks for the suggestion :)
U guys have to come back & explore/discover different regions & provinces
We for sure will!! We can't wait 🇵🇭 thank you for watching!
