I simply love how concise, condensed and really to the point your videos are. Such a joy to watch and you learn so much from them. Thanks so much, Anders! Happy holidays!
You are so damn charismatic, I don't even make drinks, but I like watching your stuff. I like the fumbling at the beginning of the video, its always the best part!
Love that all these drinks are relatively easy. Just what’s needed in this busy season! Have a bottle of sherry I’ve been wanting to crack. Now I know what to do with it first. Thanks, Anders.
Very true, the algorithm loves list. Majority of the things I get recommend are list in things I have interest in or list of things that that peaked my interest once.
I just discovered that if you watch these at half-speed, it looks like you've already drunk all of the drinks, and then finished off what was left in the bottles. A lot of fun, and also the video lasts twice as long, so it's a win-win! Though now that I think of it, how do we know you didn't actually do that, and then double-speed it in editing to make it seem like you're sober? Hmmmm....
I like to use hot apple cider instead of hot water for my Hot Buttered Rum and it’s soooo good! Tastes like if apple pie a La mode was a hot boozy drink. Love it!
Anders. The Semester Abroad is a solid cocktail. I got to try it over the weekend at a restaurant. In your honor I had her serve it in a coupe. Arguably I should have had my second cocktail first as it was a dry martini (Uncle Val's Gin) splashed with garlic scape pickle juice. It brought some funk to the party. Lastly, really enjoying the channel.
6 drink Holiday video is fantastic. So many interesting and tasty cocktails to chose from ... and 5 weeks to try them ALL. Thanks for reaching into you Holiday bag of tricks and sharing your favorites.
I tried making the Alexander for my Christmas cocktail, and in all honesty, I did naaaht enjoy it. However, it did inspire me to create something I did enjoy with the bottle of creme de cacao I ended up buying. Later I discovered it was very similar to an existing cocktail: the 20th century. My version is 1.5oz gin, 1oz creme de cacao, 1oz sweet vermouth, 0.5oz lemon juice. Flame some orange peel over that. I call it a 2021.
Thanks Anders & Az. Love a good list and perfect for a cold winters day here in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. Have spent my Saturday afternoon working through your list and my No1 is the Elkes Own. Enjoyed the others but for me its the Elkes.
I’m sipping on your hot buttered rum right now after being stuck in a blizzard for 2hrs and it’s SO COMFORTING! Thank you for opening my eyes to this drink!
Made 3 of them. i really enjoyed the alexander ! And even more so the brandy alexander. Especially for the holidays really went well together. Thank you!
I was looking for a single serve hot buttered rum recipe and yours is right up my alley. I made it, used Denizen Merchant Reserve and to be honest it's like a giant buttery hug.
I have long been a fan of the Brandy Alexander (Wisconsin girl) and also an Amaretto Alexander, but I always thought the original Alexander with gin sounded...not great. I just couldn't imagine the bright botanicals of the gin working with the chocolate and creme. However, having watched this video, I decided to give it a shot. I went in with low expectations, especially since my current gin options are Hendricks's and Empress 1908. I didn't want the color of the Empress, but I figured the cucumber notes of the Hendrick's wouldn't play well at all. Boy howdy, I was pleasantly surprised! It was so delicious, and somehow the chocolate notes of the creme de cacao come out even more than in the the Brandy Alexander (which I've been making most nights since Christmas Eve). I've rarely been so delighted to be proven wrong. So thank you for the recommendation.
Wow.......this is like a TGV (the French fast track train) going on top speed! Good to have a lot of cocktails to get through the colder days.....but the pace is like a rampage! Allways like a little back story with the drinks.....As you can tell so well!......The egg comment; great stuff!
This inspired me to make my first flip. Delicious. For those who love the side-by-side drinks videos, what about a Flip episode? Sherry, Brandy, Cynar?! Port, Rum, Mr Black?! Maybe the algorithm doesn't like flip roundup videos, but I would!
Living close to a busy airport..... I feel your pain.....Elk's own and the Semester abroad (with fernet branca) look nice, will try the flip one with rum.....I always think the clover club and the pink lady as very festive cocktails. Nice video.
Hey Anders - just wanted to say this video (and a friend's whiskey sour) really inspired me to start trying my hand at cocktails, many of which I've never had before. I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience so far, and I just wanted to say thank you! Happy Holidays to you and yours!
I just added a Hot Buttered Branca to our cocktail list at Glasspar in Dana Point, CA. I make a batter of butter, brown sugar, white granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add 1.5 oz Fernet Branca, hot water, and a top with a lightly whipped cream with vanilla paste. It is AMAZING!
"Happy cold weather days!" as I watch this in late December in Hawaii with nothing but a pair of shorts on in my living room at 8am. Ahhh, warm weather all year ain't so bad, but these cocktails sure look great!
LOL! I legit paused the vid to write that comment. Anyways, I was laughting too loud to keep on watching. I so relate to the "people you don't know how to talk too" HAHAHAHA!!! Cheers mate! Great vid again... so far, I'm just at 4:36
I needed this half a day earlier! My private cocktail club met today, and the penicillin and old fashioned were today's favourite. We'll have to have one more before Christmas, then.
@@ramon9386 Mmmh. That was my lot yesterday. Cannot wait to try out the Alexander and a rum flip. I need something creamy or milky and cinnamony in my cocktail arsenal.
These videos are so cool and I really like coctails... because of this I will end up setting up a secret bar o.O Need so many types of liquids to make coctails...
I'm so excited to have found you on my feed. I haven't even finished this video yet & already liked & subscribed! Looking forward to binge watching your content.
I must admit, I've decided to add 1/6 Demerera syrup and a few dashes of orange bitters to the mix. Makes it a wee bit richer. Sorry for the poetic license, Anders.
I just made the the Semester Abroad (subbing Cointreau for curaçao), and it tastes so incredibly similar to Amaro Nardini. It’s a favorite of mine, so you’ll get no complaints from me!
That train! Imagine how the Blue's Brothers felt! Dude, another great video, thanks. I've searched and have not found a drink that is total banana dessert styled. There has to be a spiced rum, banana liqueur, chocolate/chocolate bitters, coffee and maybe some vanilla or cherry? It won't have fresh bananas keep in mind and will mimic a banana split or something like it. And no to the dirty banana, it's been done to death. Let the alchemy begin if you so dare sir.
@@butopiatoo For hot beverages containing butter or oil, add all of the ingredients that are to be mixed for the final beverage. Obviously, do this in a blender that can withstand hot beverages. If blending a larger quantity, hold the lid with a folded towel instead of your bare hand. This results in the fat being delightfully emulsified into the final beverage. It will improve the texture and work against the fat's natural tendency to pool at the surface of a sitting drink.
Anders, your mad scientist! I tried the semester abroad.. except I didn’t have orange curacao.. only Geand Marnier.. so I substituted but added a dash of simple syrup to make up for the lack of sweetness. I’m not sure if it’s better or worse, but I’d love you to try it and let me know. If it’s better, I demand you feature my wife’s favorite request of my recipes on your next video. Looks like I should look into how to make a Rich Demerara Syrup... unless some good Maple Syrup would work? I mean... winter cocktails, maple syrup. Seems like a match.
“If you found an egg lying in the street in the sun, don’t use it” Laughed much harder than I should have at that 😂 awesome video, can’t wait to try some of these

"Gambling destroys families."
Thank you for putting this together 😊
That semester abroad made me shed a tear or three. Those beautiful memories. And then you went on to the sherry flip and 5 more tears came out.
Love seeing all these and going, "boy I can't wait to try these when it's 20C outside next july!"

Excited to try the Semester Abroad!
I tried out the Hot Buttered Rum and holy it's unusual smooth for a Rum cocktail. Very nice
We use Bubu Rum or Lost Spirits Distillary "Navy" Rum for an amazing tasting Hot Buttered Rum.
The Semester Abroad is fantastic, especially on this cold and snowy night. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
This channel has become my new addiction! Love the delivery and the variety of recipes you offer.
We made the hot buttered rum and added 3 oz of milk to it after everything else. It improved it greatly in my opinion, would recommend trying it!

I hope to get to your level of acceptance!
I made the Elk’s Own. I’m a sucker for a foaming top. The fresh grated nutmeg really transformed it into a cold winter night cocktail 🍹
