Just love the Boulevardier - can't say enough about that drink. For a limited time only, go to brightcellars.com/andersfeb & get up to $100 off your first 4 boxes of wine!
It's a great drink. I've found that if people don't quite like the bitterness, you can pull that back just a bit by subbing the campari for aperol. Nice little twist on it
One of my all time favorite cocktails! I remember the first time I ordered one at a bar and it was a magical moment. I make them all the time now at home.
This is an excellent illustration of how changing one component in a cocktail can create a different drink! I built my bar partially by looking at what I had and seeing if there was a new drink I could make by adding just one or two new ingredients, be it a unique syrup, new liqueur, or base spirit. Frequently I unlocked several new drinks simultaneously!
I want to see you do this but going between two random drinks selected by the community. Like, how many cocktails to go from a jungle bird to an egg nog; changing as few ingredients as possible at a time
"I'm showing you the ratios I like, because I'm going to be the one drinking it." Words of wisdom as always. And I love this new format of a journey through similar cocktails!
The Boulevardier has been a favorite of mine and I'm so happy to finally see you make it on the channel! I think that a flamed orange zest absolutely transforms this drink from great to amazing, and I really wouldn't have it any other way! Fantastic video concept, would love to see you do more of these in the future! Cheers to another classic video, Anders and Az! 🍸
Very cool way to tackle this, esp since I'm trying to learn how to riff on established recipes. Also that Lucien Gaudin looks like a winner; glad you managed to include a new recipe with this format.
Anders you are THE most interesting personality & information person on the You Tube & the internet. I watch a lot of videos on creating cocktails. Even if I should already know 2 or 3 versions of a cocktail you are making, I watch anyway.
Just an idea similar to this video: I think it would be awesome if you did a short series where you picked a country or region, i.e one video could be italy or France, and just basically do a crash course in cocktail history for that country, with a similar format to this video. Maybe a little more history, but just throw together 5 or 6 classic cocktails related to the particular region.
Also love this format. I really like how you help to build our mental "library" of cocktails. Having a better understanding of the differences (and similarities) between cocktails allows for more creativity to try out more riffs/originals. Made the Pegu Club for the first time tonight!
This is a good segment on learning how changing one component can lead to different drinks and building a basic stable of different drinks. It will be great with a part two starting with the margarita and moving onto another base spirit.
I like the ‘perfect’ ratio a lot; sub things in and out and you get from one thing to another really quickly. I’m going to reorganize my notebook this way. Great post.
Such a cool idea. I love making cocktails and have gotten in to it since COVID, but videos like this that show the subtle changes that have dramatic results are so informative. Thank you!
Awesome video! Watching switch and swap the components gets my creative juices flowing. This is the kind of video that makes me want to go and fix me a new and exciting drink. Thanks Anders.
Since this video is a bit old, you probably won't see this, but I just want to thank you for this video. I've been drinking primarily manhattans and old fashioneds for most of my adult life, but tonight this video inspired me to make a few of these drinks for the first time, and I now have some new favorites. The Boulevardier is fantastic, as is the Pegu Club, and these two will now be go-to drinks for my wife and I.
I added a dash of orange Angostura bitters to my margarita recipe. It adds just a little more complexity and can cut the sweet and the sour. With this you could have left the bitters on the bar for the last cocktail. I enjoyed the morphing of one drink into another. Good template for a series.
Thank you, this is exactly the stuff I come here for. Any ol bum can give me a recipe, I love your little lessons. Videos like this and the ones where you update a recipe are the content I love. Keep teaching us how to be craftsmen!
Ponders making all 6 of these this weekend, while wearing my amazingly comfy Anders Merch hoodie. Only had it for a week or so, and have had 2 people ask where I got it. Now that's design! Thanks for the vid as always! I look forward to each new one on Fridays!
Never heard of the Pegu Club. Just made it. Love it. Thanks for the continuing ed. And congratulations on just hitting 400k subs today. Been with you from, I think, 45k. Cheers!
I love every one of these drinks but, my all time favorite is a Boulevardier. A local pizzeria/bar has one called the Steve McQueen but they use Bulleit bourbon. I'm making one when I get home! Also, hands down the best at-home bartending video ever. I love how you show by changing 1 ingredient, we have a new drink. Cheers!
Thank you for this insight into the myriad world of cocktails. As a recent convert to the spirits realm its often daunting figuring out what I want to invest in. Thanks for helping to clear a path and set up some directions. This has become my go to channel for helpful sips tips and recipes!
I thought this was GREAT!! Your vid about the Pegu Club got me drinking those and I was hooked, I tend to drink Manhattans during colder months, I loved seeing the ‘circle of life’ 😂😂😂
Nice trip! What I actually see is the Martini in the centre (the cocktails in the middle - 3 & 4), with the close relatives at the left (1 & 2, where whiskey replaces gin and we still have booze-only drinks), with more distant relatives on the right (5 & 6 are actually Daisies). This journey reminds me of the Cocktail Codex book, which sits next to me while I type this reply, which also teaches us there are (just) 6 fundamental recipes. And the fun is you can switch from one to another by replacing 1 or 2 components. Coming back to the video - 3-ingredients cocktails served up are my sweet spot, so thank you for the show!
Fun episode! I'd love to see an episode on garnishes. I have yet to really figure out how to properly cut a peal from a lemon/orange/lime, but also would like to know some fancier presentation techniques.
Oh, I even returned to the previous video to check if I’ve missed it but no! That new pink light looks fancy!💕 Aand I’ve just finished my old fashioned and think that I’ve started from “station zero”😅
wow, what an excellent, informative video this was, for new and old(er) viewers alike! has nobody mentioned your GORGEOUS GLASSWARE yet? i was excited to see we have the same martini glasses for the Manhattan, but -- gasp! -- i'm drooling over the rest of the bunch. now i need to find them for our own collection here. i'm particularly swooning over the glasses for the Boulevardier, Negroni, and Lucien. i must have them!
Great concept, great drinks! Also, thanks for the tip about the blanc vermouth in the Lucien Gaudin. I like it but I don't love it, so this might be the solution.
I always enjoy your content, Anders, but this one was extra special. What an awesome way to organize and present six great drinks. Can't wait to make the one I haven't tried!
Best concept on the channel. I would love to see more of these. Honestly, I'd even like to see a Manhattan to Margarita again with different steps in between, leaning more heavily into sours. pretty dope
Just love the Boulevardier - can't say enough about that drink.
For a limited time only, go to brightcellars.com/andersfeb & get up to $100 off your first 4 boxes of wine!
It’s a damned good’n.
Agreed. I spent a week one night drinking those.
Agreed 100% The bourbon is so much better to my palate than the gin in a negroni
This should become a series: 6 degrees with Anders. Love this concept.
Yes. PLEASE
Great idea!
Degrees of siperation
@@danrobertshaw5082 haha that’s a great name
100% agreed

Totally agree! Building my array of bottles and therefore my drink library has been such a fun adventure :)
For me, Campari was the big unlocker. I suddenly could make like 4 or 5 new drinks since I already had a decent personal bar put together
@@dellh86 same! I had gin, bourbon, and rum by the time I got a bottle of Campari. I remember my first boulevardier; it was a magical moment
@@dellh86 haha campari was quite some bottles ago for me, but definitely a delight! Also it keeps unlocking for tons of bottles I've gotten since
Except that this involved changing more than one component in most of the steps. I was hoping for single hops in the video. But otherwise I agree
I love this format of changing one ingredient to jump from one cocktail to another.
And THIS is how you build your bar and your cocktail base! I hope you do this again, Anders - it's my new favorite video of yours! Cheers! 🥂
It's not just recipes, it's a way to better understand de relations between cocktails. It's education. That is so valuable!
I love all of these.
Creative video- always enjoy the channel, but really unique content like this is a treat!
Thanks - love doing this sort of thing
I want to see you do this but going between two random drinks selected by the community. Like, how many cocktails to go from a jungle bird to an egg nog; changing as few ingredients as possible at a time
This could be a fun challenge!
Love it. Jungle bird has been my drink this week 😋
"I'm showing you the ratios I like, because I'm going to be the one drinking it." Words of wisdom as always. And I love this new format of a journey through similar cocktails!
Can confirm that the 2 parts gin for the Negroni is much better.
The Boulevardier has been a favorite of mine and I'm so happy to finally see you make it on the channel! Fantastic video concept, would love to see you do more of these in the future! Cheers to another classic video, Anders and Az! 🍸
Thanks Dimitar - love the Boulevardier. Cheers!
I'm a fan of the Boulevardier as well. One bartender friend of mine turned me on to another variation which is replacing the bourbon with mezcal.
Hey, that's a like from me. I love the concept Anders! Very strong content, as usual!
Very interesting concept for a video!
Thank you so much Mark - happy you like the approach to cocktails. Always appreciate you watching.

I really enjoy watching you work through the cocktails like this. It's like 6 degrees of separation or something.
Brilliant. This way of showing multiple related components is how we all try to cut them up after all. And a fun tasting experience to compare them!
Love this concept, shows deep knowledge and helps expand horizons! ❤
Congratulations!!! 400k subscribers!!! You deserve the success.
Also love this format. I really like how you help to build our mental "library" of cocktails. Having a better understanding of the differences (and similarities) between cocktails allows for more creativity to try out more riffs/originals.
Made the Pegu Club for the first time tonight!

Probability my favorite episode of yours; Again!
This is still the most awe-inspiring and brain teasing video you have made so far - a lesson in conceptual cocktail videos. Bravo!
Hands down, my favorite cocktail channel on YT! Thanks for the many great cocktails!
Yes! Finally another cocktail I haven't tried that I can use the blanc vermouth in. As always, thank you for the great content
And to add to that, I just tried the Lucien Gaudin, and it is an excellent evolution of the Negroni. A keeper for sure
Great selection Anders, I thought you were going to include the Jasmine, but the Lucien was a great addition as well. Happy weekend
Good call - the Jasmine would be a perfect fit. Cheers and happy weekend David!
I was thinking the Siesta would be included! With the Jasmine and Siesta you'd have a nicely symmetric stirred/shaken split.
I like the ‘perfect’ ratio a lot; sub things in and out and you get from one thing to another really quickly. I’m going to reorganize my notebook this way. Great post.
That’s one cracking Friday night there Anders, cheers 🥃👍
Haha definitely
What an awesome video. Almost like the cocktails are mimicking the changing of seasons.
Yes. Boulevardier FTW! Such a great cocktail. Thanks as always Anders and Az.
Such a cool idea. I love making cocktails and have gotten in to it since COVID, but videos like this that show the subtle changes that have dramatic results are so informative. Thank you!
This is by far your best video, well in my opinion
Awesome video! Watching switch and swap the components gets my creative juices flowing. This is the kind of video that makes me want to go and fix me a new and exciting drink.
Thanks Anders.
Yes - fully support exploring something new. Cheers Andres!
Love this concept. When I was starting my foray into cocktails I visualized my tastes as a spectrum from old fashioned to martini
This concept was well initiated and carried out,I love your love work
Well done Anders, just simply well done.
Since this video is a bit old, you probably won't see this, but I just want to thank you for this video. Great concept video and wonderful way to show the relative changes in recipes that open up so many alternatives in cocktails.

This was a fun episode! You should revisit this concept sometime in the future!
Cheers!
I agree!
i've been wanting a pegu club video from you forever!! my all time favorite cocktail
Thank you, this is exactly the stuff I come here for. Any ol bum can give me a recipe, I love your little lessons. Videos like this and the ones where you update a recipe are the content I love. Keep teaching us how to be craftsmen!
Great stuff! Amateur bartender, appreciate learning the "right" way to do things from these videos.
I would love for this to be a series
Great stuff Anders! Love the idea. I'd like to see this same format with some Tiki drinks 🍸 🏝 Cheers!
Ooh that'd be a fun challenge
THIS WAS AWESOME! Do more of these!!!
love this format, more of this please 😀
Love the video! There’s no link in the description to the glass you used for the Lucien Gaudin… do you happen to know where that one came from?
I had a Boulevardier at a bar in SC that replaces the Campari with Bruto Americano and it's great. For those who aren't into Campari.
Ponders making all 6 of these this weekend, while wearing my amazingly comfy Anders Merch hoodie. Only had it for a week or so, and have had 2 people ask where I got it. Now that's design! Thanks for the vid as always! I look forward to each new one on Fridays!
Love this - happy the hoodie's working out! Hope you enjoy the drinks and the weekend. Cheers!
Love this concept, please do more!
Thanks for giving me three other cocktails to try! 🤣 great idea for a series!
I love this format
Love all of them! Also we just received our wonderful baseball cap, winter cap and hoodie! We totally love them and your videos 😊
More of this please! Awesome content
Very smart. Would like to see more that show connectivity between cocktails.
Wonderful idea, tons of fun to watch!
Excellent video and love to see more of this kind of style like 6 steps from XX to YY.
Love it, make more series of this plz ❤
Never heard of the Pegu Club. Just made it. Love it. Thanks for the continuing ed. And congratulations on just hitting 400k subs today. Been with you from, I think, 45k. Cheers!
This was super fun to watch ! Awesome content as always
Loved this concept! So great!
Presented in a way to make remembering so easy!!! Thx
Best video yet Anders. Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Really liked this kind of video. Brilliant content as always. 🙌
I appreciate this channel. Just an amazing episode (and concept). So good.
What a great idea! Loved this!
I love this concept!
Woohoo, 400k subscribers! Congrats guys
That Lucien Gaudin is delicious! First time I’ve tried making it.
Very cleverly done!
I'm trying to learn and memorise some classic drinks and this format is golden! Thanks Anders
I would love to spend an afternoon with you guys making drinks. Thank you so much.
This is tons of fun!!! 😊
This was fun. Great job!!
Excellent work man.
Sometimes I'll just have your videos playing for the narration alone. Love how you talk about the drinks
I love this video, great concept and execution

This is an absolutely killer idea for a series.
Love this! More! More!
They are alllllll delicious. thanks
I love that all of these now exist in same vid! can't wait to try the Lucien and Pegu Club. :)

TOO THE BAR! ➡️🥃
I always enjoy your content, Anders, but this one was extra special. What an awesome way to organize and present six great drinks. Can't wait to make the one I haven't tried!
Thanks for your content over the years Anders. Would be awesome to see you collaborate with Barfly or How To Drink. Love from Montréal
You mean like this?
th-cam.com/video/EKyIy5iG87Q/w-d-xo.html
Best concept on the channel. I would love to see more of these. Honestly, I'd even like to see a Manhattan to Margarita again with different steps in between, leaning more heavily into sours. pretty dope
Really interesting to see how these little changes make crazy wild new drinks and connect things you would never think connected.
Makes anything seem possible. Cheers Chris!
