Mark always ran near the front for 2 reasons 1. He knew how to set up a race car and 2 he was a detail freak.. I believe it was 93 when he won 4 straight cup races 2 Bush series races and an IROC race, so 7 races all within a 4 week span
Soooo the Talladega crash (Where he goes through the gate) Martin said in his interview after the wreck that his throttle hung and that's why he couldn't slow down
2000@ The Winston 2000@ The Brickyard 2005 fall race at Talladega 2006 fall race at Charlotte 2007 fall race @ Atlanta 2009 fall race at Talladega 2010 first race at Pocono 2012 second race at Michigan
I seen the actual car and saw tale tale signs of a hung throttle, and as a real life race car driver (imca dirt track driver in ca) could tale that was a hung throttle
@@joshuapittman4663 that doesn't mean he isn't still one of the best. Mark Martin is of course of a Different Leauge compared to Dale Jr. I'm not denying that. JR is still one of the best. I mean He is in the Hall of Fame. If that doesn't say he wasn't one of the best then I guess they just induct anyone who steps into a Nascar stock car
That flip was actually a slow roll over, after winding up on a hill after being run off of the track. Due to the lack of speed involved, the severity was reduced.
For sure, Martin's the best to never win the series championship or a Daytona 500. Hamlin may be the best driver by total Cup wins to not be crowned series champ as of August 2024.
That Michigan crash still gives me chills to this day. I remember watching that happen on TV live. It was scary.
Mark Martin was such a respectable driver raced you clean and finished great
But sometimes one has to be somewhat aggressive to win . And unfortunately mark never got the big win !
Southern 500, Coke 600, and a 1990 championship. “Illegal part” HA!. Sr had ol Bill in his pocket.
I believe that crash that mark Martin had in Michigan was very scary

My favorite driver til this day.
alternate title- Ten Minutes of Pure Pain
Soooo the Talladega crash (Where he goes through the gate)
Martin said in his interview after the wreck that his throttle hung and that's why he couldn't slow down
He also lost his brakes too
I remember when mark Martin Drove the WCW Car back when WCW was a around was a great driver
The Michigan crash made my heart stop...
good job i love the nascar drivers worst crashes keep up the good work
That Talladega Crash in 1994 could've been a lot worse if not for that fence stopping the car - Mark even said it himself
One of the best in the HALL OF FAME.
As an Allison, Martin is probably my favorite all time.
Whoever that is yelling @5:30 sounds like hybrid between dw and bp 😂
That's actually BP. He might have cracked his voice a bit there.
Mark Martin had the worst luck on the superspeedways just like Ryan Newman (with exception of Mark nearly winning the 07' Daytona 500)...
All the crashes in the video (in order):
1991 @Talladega
1994 @Talladega

I feel bad for Mark. He always had such bad luck.
Dale: Don't talk to Dale, or our buddy Dale again
What happened to his Sonoma flip
1:16 the word is WHEN, not WHENEVER
Did you add in his ASA crashes
And the 2nd crash (where Mark Martin crashed through a wall & fence, that was because the throttle hung)
@@troygroomes104 Thanks! I tried to verify it but different sources said different things. Either way, the brakes did not work haha.

Mark Martin = One of the best drivers to never to win a cup championship
Me: Is Dale Jr Among those Drivers?
I would say so, yeah. I like Dale Jr.
I wouldn’t put him up with Martin. I would say Denny Hamlin is more comparable to Martin. Though maybe Hamlin wins a championship yet
@@joshuapittman4663 Hamlin still Can. Dale Jr. Like Martin NEVER Did
Big difference
@@yukikosugami1842 Dale jr has half the wins of Mark Martin

didnt mark martin flip at sonoma in 1990?
