I’m in your boat but with less knowledge. 75 iron head XLCH restore chop can’t make up my mind but I’m just going to start and see where it takes me. So many little things to think about and all with almost no mechanical experience. I appreciate your Vids

I didn’t have much when I started my build either. Lots and lots of inspiration from other TH-cam vids and going to events and talking to others build. Most of it was learned through trial and error. I don’t recommend tho lol it’s an expensive way to learn. Good luck on your build! Hopefully I’ll get some vids out on the ironhead this winter. Thanks for watching 🤘

I have had an Ironhead and now I have Triumph T140. I know your pain. You missed all the event's and just riding, because the bike is infested with gremlins all the time. But it's just part of the game.

You really learned the hard way of how to work on a ironhead, or should I say you learned the wrong way, nothing wrong with a bendix it's not a great carb but gets the job done,when set up right, CV is great when set up right also. But by the sounds of things you had more of a ignition an Timeing issue then a carb problem?? Wire style tie wraps is a no no! Most likely carb got loose a started sucking air an leaned it out hence the backfire, my take on it, oh yeah generators just don't fall off an ironhead,

💯! Went into this not knowing a damn thing, haha. Still learning every time I touch these bikes. I’ve gained a bunch of knowledge since starting tho. Met a lot of rad people willing to share their knowledge too. Been a pretty rad experience throughout tho.

@@RoamonTwo ironheads are a love hate thing lol, I've had my 73 since 76 trust me I've made my share of mistakes too, I've tried different carbs S&S S U bendix khein an such,mikuni. That's about it same with ignition systems,points electronic , etc, Sometimes it's more work then fun lol,
