Great demo 👏👏. Soul and magic slide also keep you looking forwards, and seem to be great for controlling speed on downhills. I can powerslide, which works ok, but it's not so strong a stop as soul or magic, and of course it has to be performed backwards, even with forward entry.

In our club we give a tip to upgrade the T stop efficiency: bend the knee and first put back foot way much more behind, and then pull that leg forward to a classical position. It really helps stoping faster but it need a bit more build up But still very nice video ! Slides are the best way to stop imo
Nice slides! Encouraging to keep trying so maybe I can do that parellel slide too some day. I use the soul slide on smooth surfaces but I need to develop some more leg strength or agility to get lower and do them reliable on rough surfaces. I can’t alway get into the soulslide yet if the surface has too much grip. I’m sure it will get better with time 😅

Nice sliding! And useful info!👌 I totally agree, as a stop, the T is awful! I find it very useful for shaving off speed, however, as it can be used quickly, even on rough surfaces, where other methods may be a little trickier.

Very useful for those of us still learning speed control. Keep in mind this still works if you may not necessarily want to stop, but just decelerate a little. Also, where is that lovely accent from?

i feel like i cant do any slides with my wheels with 84a hardness. they seem so soft and have incredible grip. so would you recommend soul slide first? then parallel slide?
If you noticed, she did all that on a wet asphalt road, that's much easier than on dry clean surface. Anyway 84a hardness is ok, you can still slide on those, the secret is more in the angle of the wheels to the road, it needs to be at a more acute angle. And lower your center of gravity by bending your knees more. Start by learning to carve well first. There is an excellent video on this, I'll post here when i find it

Weird assumption that people who use soul slides don't have situational awareness. Accidents happen and we can not predict every possible scenario. Being able to stop faster adds another tool in the bag to potentially avoid injury in those cases and others. Plus ON TOP of that, it's fun!
I don't mean to be respectful but if I had been doing inline skating for 30 years I'd have tried all the different techniques out there rather than being content with what I can do now.

There was in the 90s, back when people actually skated, a skate with an actual brake. Not the terrible heel-drag thing. Wonder if it worked.

The asphalt is wet, so the slides is way easier to do :-)
Please try on a standard dry asphalt
Fake news
I’m sure they can do it on dry ground also. And it’s takes longer to stop on wet ground so her point about the slides is even more important
“magic slide” = UFO cessslide
“parallel slide” = royale cessslide
may not be aparent, but these are the correct names for these tricks. They were named back in the mid 90s.
@@nitemirror1Actually they were originally called the "hamburglar" and the "double pubble". Leave your bad info in your pocket, broheim.

Why is Knees Slide important 😂
Hi are you wearing socks with them skates friend
I've been inline skating for 30 years and I've never had to use a soul slide to stop. It's important to have situational awareness
It is helpful when going downhill and it only eats the outside edge 😂
