In this video I replace the timing belt on my 1995 Toyota Hiace 4x4 with the 1kzte Turbodiesel engine, as well as the accessory belts for the air conditioning and alternator.

Thank you for making these videos. I'm about to buy a 96 turbo diesel 4x4 hiace in washington, and there's hardly any videos on them. Are you worried about overheating and cracked cylinder heads at all? That seemed yo be the main issue I found online.

Nice! From what I've read as long as you don't lug it too long and keep the Egt's down you'll be just fine. It's always been my habit to downshift before a hill and I've never had a problem.

The original factory head gaskets tend to degrade with age, regardless of mileage, so it pays to be careful, and gentle (watch out if your temp gauge goes past half way). I burned the head gasket in my 2.4L 2RZ-E THSC (crank pulley bearing failed to the water pump at 170000) and it wasn’t a fun job to replace… The 3.0 1KZ diesel head gasket, I was told, is significantly harder…

Hi, have you experience high idle rpm after changing battery? What did you do to put it back at normal idle?

I think we have the exactr same model, Dash, seats, etc, oh and you actually know how it works , i'm just swapping my head unit out atm!, exciting to find someone with same model!

Sweet! Mine came from Japan with that head unit and it's terrible! It keeps going back to demo mode lol, but with my other jdm cars finding a wiring harness diagram has always been an issue :/

I assume you mean you "can't" compress it? I'm not sure I put mine in the vice before I pulled the pin.

I’m having trouble getting the four bolts off to remove the fan. Is there anything you can do to keep the fan from spinning?

While I don't remember exactly how this fan is oriented, on other cars I've been able to slide a long flathead screwdriver or similar type tool in between a couple of the studs on the fan to stop it from turning while you loosen the nut, hopefully that helps
