They gave me the same "we're coming out with instructions and better directions soon" over a year ago. Thats why I put as much info on s2ki as I could. Its the little things that get left out in other instructions that make you wonder if youre doing something wrong or if somethings wrong with the product. I still like the rollbar and would buy it again.
That’s the Roll Bar I’m running. So far no complaints! They sent me the wrong bottom plates, but quickly sent out the right ones afterwards. Great product and costumer support. Great review video!👍
I purchased/installed this bar last year. Have similar setup with the PCI adjustable seat rails, but I have a 6 pt harness. I mounted the lower 2 point sub harnesses on the pci rails (thats why I got pci), but i soon noticed that I had to raise my bucket seating position to an uncomfortable angle to accommodate those bolts underneath.. Im 6' tall so that 3/4" - 1" height increase was noticeable. I also soon realized the benefits of a single diagonal roll bar (like harddog) vs the EVS symmetrical one, is the ability to angle your seat further back, since that bar isnt in the way. Other than that, the EVS bar is very nice. But if anyone is taller than 6'. I would definitely advise getting the Harddog single diagonal for better seating positions, and not the pci rails with the sub harness mounting bracket.
All good points. Now that You mention it realize it my bucket seat sits pretty close to the diagonal bar. The harness bolts don’t seem to pose a problem for me though.
@@DIYGuysvideo Yea. Thats good. Since I'm 2" taller in height, it was noticeable for me. I might end up just getting the bride/nagisa rails and mounting the 2 sub harnesses to the car. When I drove at the track a few months ago, my knees were touching the keys when heel-toe downshifting, so that wasnt good.. haha.
You are right about the cutting up in the wheel well. I think that’s one of the biggest issues I have with installing a roll bar in my S2000. I know that will most likely just suck it up and do it but it will hurt. Great videos 👍🏾 always look forward to them. One question after installation did you try to cover up or fill in the opening where you cut in the wheel well? That’s kind of one of my other concerns . 🤔
I think the Spoon 4 point makes sense if you want a bar that is minimally invasive and doesn't require any irreversible modifications. It isn't clear to me whether the spoon roll bar supports a race harness or not but I'm not sure it would be race legal (SCCA/NASA).
do you still to this day think this is the best rollbar option for our S2k's? ive been on the fence between this one and the hard dog. I am curious if one sticks up higher than the other as I am 6'3 and need all the help i can get to pass the broomstick test
RSG and EVS and Ballade are all in a similar ball park as far as roll bars. RSG might be the absolute cheapest. RSG is nice if you don’t need to mount OEM belts since their bulkhead bar is a separate bolt in bar.
There are a few others: hard dog, obx, mugen, etc. Hard dog is very popular and worth looking at. OBX is a replica from what I’ve read. And mugen is not really a race spec roll bar.
Cool. I did a photoshoot with my s2k around there because theres a lot of business parks in that area, and during the weekends the parking lots are pretty much dead.
Yes, there are a few. 1. At the time that I was thinking about install the roll bar I didn't even think of Hard Dog. Maybe it is because I'm in CA and I'm surrounded by several well known S2000 shops. Maybe it is because Bethania Garage appears to be an old school company that hasn't transitioned to the digital age well. Maybe Bethania Garage simply didn't market well to me (do they even have an instagram?). What I'm getting at is that they weren't front of mind when I was making this decision. 2. The EVS Tuning roll bar was released one year ago, which means it is ripe for being reviewed. If I didn't make this video people might not know that it will come with no instructions and that could affect their decision when ordering a roll bar. 3. Going with EVS Tuning was also a strategic decision for the TH-cam channel.
It is currently for sale. I have some buyers lined up at the moment. I am trying to procure a box large enough. However local buyers will be given priority so I don’t have to ship 😀
i love your channel, especially how thorough and clear it is. As an S2K owner, it provides tons of great info. As for this video itself - i cannot understand the willingness of people to go and cut / chop / slice their perfectly clean S2000 to install these useless pieces of metal. I'd rather pay an extra 100$ insurance @ a racetrack or get a car i can actually race with than mess around and ruining my car's interior. your car was perfect, now it has holes in the frame, was it worth it?
I think it depends on a lot of things.. I should really make a build introduction video... but this car is primarily a track car for me. The time that it spends on the street will be going to and from the track so I don't really care about the interior or the lack of a glove box. This year I will have done 8 track days and next year I plan to do even more. As far as the roll bar itself, I don't feel it is useless. To me it is a safety item to protect myself not my car. Track insurance might cover bodily injury but I don't want to get injured in the first place. It will protect my head in a roll over and more importantly it will allow me to run a harness and a HANS device. I have personal friends that have already rolled at Laguna Seca. The car might look perfect on video but it is far from it. It just looks really nice on video :P It has almost 150K miles, it has been in an accident from the previous owner, and I've already replaced the trunk due to rust (which I have a video on). And frankly, it is called a club racer. It is literally meant to be driven to a race track, driven on the race track, and then driven home which is exactly what I'm doing. tldr; To me its worth it, this IS my race car. I have a bone stock AP1 that I daily 40-50 miles a day.
Screw evasive motorsports. Bought rims from them and they sent me some with the wrong offset. Called them and they said I would have to pay for return shipping even though it was their fault. I stay away from companies this. I’m surprised they have been in business this long.

Thank you so much for speaking out! I'm going to pin this comment since EVS (and other companies) should be held accountable for these statements.
@@DIYGuysvideo it is now 2023, I just bought this bar and can confirm there are still no instructions or anything that come with it

Thank you for the review. I’m looking to get a rollbar sometime next year for my AP1.

Great review! Honest with all the pros and cons with no fancy TH-cam clickbait shit.

Sure did. Expanding foam + underbody coating. Might do a separate video on the install.
Well if you do make that video I will definitely be watching. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to make these videos. Thank you 🙏🏾
What aftermarket hardtop latches did you go with? I just installed me EVS rollbar and dont feel like ruining my latches by bending them.
Rockstar Garage two piece latches. Don't like them that much. I did a review here: th-cam.com/video/gOV-77XxjmI/w-d-xo.html
I’d stick with Spoon 4 point which I did 3 weeks ago! No issues but props to you for resolving all the issues on this clip regarding EVS Rollbar 👍🏼

Yes. However I’m not sure which will be higher.
Just recieved my roll bar a few days ago. No instructions either.
False promises 😭
Thanks for posting your experience!
Doesnt EVS cost a lil more than other brands? I think im going with RSGs.

Thanks for the video.
What hard top brackets did you end up using?
Yea, i'd like to know myself lol.
Rockstar Garage. I’ll have a review of those up soon too.
You did this video near devry in newark, correct? Looks familiar.
Yeah I live in Fremont. I don't know of many good spots to film where I won't be bothered.
Cool. I did a photoshoot with my s2k around there because theres a lot of business parks in that area, and during the weekends the parking lots are pretty much dead.
Bad ass video man
Any reason you didn't go with the very popular Hard Dog roll bar from Bethania Garage Inc? Comes with instructions and correct hardware....
Yes, there are a few.

@@DIYGuysvideo how much and where you located?
Fremont, CA. DM me for price.
Do I have to remove the soft top to install this roll bar?
No, you may need to mess with the motors though.
Today’s my bday, not a bad present :)
Yo chill!!! Haha
Are you selling the hard top rear OEM catchers?
Everything I took off the car is already sold.
Can I just weld this into the frame instead of drilling holes & using the base plates?
I don’t see why not
Which rims u use?
Volk CE28N
I need your seats and CR wheels please🙏🏽
Seats are sold and wheels are still in use!

if we sent you the wrong offset, we would fix it and pay for the shipping. it's likely you ordered the wrong offset from the sound of it.
