I don't know if you know this, but : Back in '81, the Honda CB900C, was "Rated" as the "BEST" riding bike ,,,,,,,rode the best! I tell you what, on my '81, had some progressive "rear" shocks on it, not the "STOCK" air-assisted shocks,, that bike rode "BETTER" than my 81'XS1100!~
The CB900C has the best stock suspension of the muscle cruisers of the time. Rides nice, handles nice, not too much dive under braking, and stable at any speed.
On my '81 XS11, I've taken the bars off of my "parts bike", the '82 CB900C", and use it , along with some extenders and when I ride my XS11 for some distance, like from here (yuma) to Phoenix and back in a day> No problem on my back,,,,,,,(+/-400+ ,miles)
Thanks David. I was out of town much of last week. A cold mix of rain and snow today. The KZ1000 is still hibernating. The weather looks promising later this week.
Yeah man, do continue : Driving it like a 6-speed,,,,, the "HI-Gear" let it become the 6th speed! If you do this, it'll make the clutch last!
Right on!

Much better this time!
What about modern gas? Any issues?
No issues but I store the bikes properly.
The methanol gas is a pain if you do not drive often enough. After 2 months it gets gummy and affects carboration. Fuel stabiliser is recommended !
