This is nothing like what I imagined, and I've never been more glad to be surprised by a trailer.
Hopefully, the trailer reflects what we're gonna see in the show. That's not a given, unfortunately.
Agatha is a cop in the beginning because her TV personality has moved to the 2020's, doing shows like Mare of Easttown.
IDK, Wanda turned her into the "nosy neighbor" permanently after she had lifted the hex, didn't she? maybe she turned that nosiness into a career and depressionin those last 3 years? or maybe there are some other shenanigans going on... cannot wait to find out
She was also made to be the "nosy" neighbor by Wanda at the end of Wandavision, so it tracks she's now working as a detective/investigator
@@krissmith8851 yep, at the start of filming Joe Locke posted a photo of a director’s chair emblazoned with “Agnes of Westview” in the Mare of Easttown font - definitely a little homage!

As someone who wasn't super excited before this trailer released, I am VERY interested in checking this show out now! I'm very much looking forward to watching it when it drops! 🙌🏽🔮🍿
I love how much they were spoofing Mare of Easttown at the beginning (huge clue with that “water” line) considering how Evan Peters was in both that and WandaVision.
And those two shows went head to head at all the awards shows that season and did lots of roundtables and press events together. So just a fun nod to that.
It would make perfect sense that Agatha gets stuck in a more modern era of TV - prestige crime dramas and Ryan Murphy style horror stories.
That’s not a tag for the deceased, that’s a library card. Because Wanda has Agatha’s book checked out.
W could also be for William. AKA Billy, Wiccan. Everybody just immediately assumes it's Wanda.
@@richardyoung3462 I would assume it’s William if it was a death tag, but as someone who possessed the Darkhold, it’s why I presume it’s Wanda because she has a late checked out book.
@@richardyoung3462 She's wearing the same clothes (jeans and sweatshirt) at the end of Wandavision during their fight, when Wanda's fingers turn black. It's "supposed" to be Wanda, but it's all in Agatha's mind.
@@djoscartj Yes, but as the original post noted, it's not a "toe tag" like morgues use. It's a library card. And since this is likely the beginning of the show, the card may be the impetus for how Agatha searches for and finds the still alive and now older Billy. The body may be a "version" of Wanda, just not the main universe one. And it's all likely just in Agatha's head for now.

Legion is some of the best television I've EVER seen, regardless of genre. Definitely put it on your watchlists if you haven't seen it. It's somewhere between 30-45 episodes total.
I watched all of Legion. Visually, it’s beautiful. The creativity of CGI was impressive. However I thought the story was mid most of the time. Aubrey Plaza and Dan Stevens were my favorites in the show.
I agree (although I really disliked the ending). But it's that sort of surreal, psychological genre where you never truly know what's real and don't usually get all the answers; and a *lot* of people hate not getting the answers 😂
The song for the trailer is Florence + the Machine's "Seven Devils". Wanda used to have a group of enemies called Salem's Seven. Coincidence?
What if Wanda had the twins before leaving Hydra but was made to forget. When she subconsciencly brought back Vision she brought the Twins back too. But the real Wicken and his brother were still out there growing up.
I think she was 18 or something when she left so idk... also, how would they make her forget?

Witches road is a different plane or existence in the comics. Only ppl who use magic can access it. Wanda actually walks the path to fix witchcraft itself so I wonder if they can use this to bring her back.

I’m legit freaking out. I’ve been dreaming of seeing “Teen” (don’t want to spoil) on screen for almost 20 years now. It’s finally happening. Joe Locke is such a great pick to play him as well. Thus character is so important to me so this is without question my most hyped Marvel project ever.

Bits of Hocus Pocus, but also a gooooood bit of Evil Dead! Think after DS2, Marvel might've decided to go a bit more Sam Raimi with all the magical stuff, seeing how people loved those parts specifically

The only other Marvel show that came out this year was Echo and that was all the way back in January so that's maybe why you guys forgot, it was a killer show and this looks like it will be too. The Hahnaissance continues baby!

@hectorminator OMG, I can't wait!!! The Echo series is one of the very few mcu projects that I was firm about being a masterpiece as soon as the credits rolled. I've grown to appreciate the WandaVision finale more and more over time, but the Echo finale sank its teeth into me with its pure transcendent beauty right from the jump.

they did a sequel to wandavision, instead of sitcom tropes, they're doing horror movie tropes... which is really smart for a show centered on a villain who is a witch.

Hector, have you read Jame Robinson’s Scarlet Witch run about the Witches Road. It’s an interesting read since Agatha All Along has the witches road in it.
I didn't know how they would approach this show but i couldn't be happier.
Legion is amazing! Definitely check it out. Well worth your time.
So hyped for this! Hahn deserves this comeback to the MCU. I also got the "Hocus Pocus" vibes. So that body in there is supposed to be Wanda with jeans and sweatshirt with the black fingers as in the last episode of Wandavision during their fight. Great song choice for the trailer, Florece + The Machine is awesome! BTW, you did watch Marvel's Echo in January 2024, but we never got all the TH-cam reactions because of the issues with your video editing software.

Hey guys I wanted to mention to you that Patti Lupone did a reoccurring character on the Showtime horror series Penny Dreadful as a good witch fighting the devil who ends up being burned to death by a mob. So no surprise she was attracted to this project. It was a great series based on the Universal classic horror movies. The Penny Dreadfuls were the horror comics of Victorian times so the comics connection is there! If you have not watched, Eva Green puts in an amazing performance! Patti was an outstanding guest performance and she will most likely be one on this series too!!!
I’m excited that they’ll expand on the witches/dark magic side of the MCU, it will be interesting to see what this will show us with that side and maybe some more Agatha (maybe Wanda tease too)
This does look like fun! My mom loves Kathryn Hahn, so this will be something she will look into. I will be interested to see what will happen. Witches, Magic and creepy stuff let's go!

Hey, heads up unless you guys already looked it up but the head writer and producer for WandaVision is the same person who is writing directing and producing Agatha all along so it’s not an entirely different crew so there should be some story continuity and at least some respect to the character involved here.
Oh hey, forgot so it’s Jac Schaeffer, she did the initial script treatment for black widow and was one of the writers for Captain Marvel as well so at least she tried to put some respect for the ladies
I really hope they keep with this tone for Agatha. We need more like Werewolf by Night and this would fit perfectly in that realm

This trailer has me intrigued, and I actually had a thought...I'm now wondering if maybe the reason Wanda was so twisted in Dr. Strange was maybe because of the influence of Agatha's dark powers she stole.

- Variety posted an article confirming Joe Locke would be playing Billy Kaplin, but later edited out the character's names
- Marvel's official synopsis said that Joe Locke's character will help Agatha break out of the distorted spell & beg her to take him to the Witches' Road (which could be Billy looking for Wanda)
- However, Patti LuPone said on The View that he'll be playing Agatha's familiar.
Run the timeline from the end of Multiverse of Madness, because this show declares Wanda's death is what helps release Agatha from Wanda's spell.

Is that David Payton (who played Herb in WandaVision) as the police officer at the beginning? I didn't get a good look at his face, but it sure sounded like him. If so, is he also under Wanda's spell? If not, shouldn't he know that Agatha isn't really a detective (they all saw the witch fight between Wanda and Agatha)?
It's for the girls, gays and theys - I've seen this comment multiple times but it's kinda true. This series is for us spooky-witchy candle- burning-mystical power- girls, us "witches", the LGBTQIA+ community with lots of love and the hots for Kathryn and Aubrey on the one hand and for Joe Locke on the other (or all of them ofc) and also musical lovers and theatrers goers. It's unusual but we are not few.

I'd check out all Marvel shows but wasn't exactly hyped for this. Other than Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza. Always hyped for them. 😁 Really love the impressions I got from the trailer. 🎉 A bit of horror and detective and fantasy plus humour sounds perfect. I'm a Buffy and Sabrina teenage witch girly from back in the day so... Hopefully it gives me some throwback vibes. ^^

Wanda have killed a reed richards variant, so it would be nice to change agatha for wanda as the babysitter. Just like in the Witchs Road comic we have Wanda in it with dead Agatha, and the mcu is doing the opposite. I like those ideas

Oh right the trailer. I had no idea what to expect, was not excited about this show beyond being a fan of Kathryn Hahn and her performance in WandaVision. I'm loving how it seems to be doing a similar thing with horror genres/eras as WandaVision did with sitcoms. I am actually kind of excited to see it now. It's looking like it might be a similar kind of mind bending fun.
