      I am glad you found it helpful - and great question! Most of them mentioned they had it in front of them and that they had read through it, but they didn't ask me specific questions about anything that was written on it. :)

    Is your CV like the one you would use in North America? Like include all your work experience, or do you just include whatever (if any) teaching experience?

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I kept all my work experience because I didn't want it to look like there were any gaps in my employment. I just rewrote the less applicable positions to speak to the skills I learned that would be transferable. The one big difference though was putting a professional headshot on my resume. It is standard practice over here!

    Hi! Great video! I will be interviewing to teach English in a Hagwon. I was referred by a friend who works for one also.
    My question is : If I don’t hold a bachelor’s degree, will I automatically be rejected? I’m also Canadian. Thanks in advance! :)

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sandra, good question! Unfortunately, in order to teach at a hagwon you need to hold an E2 visa and the only way to qualify for an E2 is with a bachelor's degree.

  • @amandaledger7967
    @amandaledger7967 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How would I explain to a company that I’m still interviewing with other companies and want to keep my options open for the time being, say mid-October? I’ve sent my application to a dozen schools and I’m just not ready to dive right into the first school I interview with…

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This a toughie! The positions fill really quickly so if you do choose to tell a school you want to consider other options, they might extend your consideration period slightly but likely only by a small number of days. And you'd need to be prepared for them to fill the position with someone else while your considering, especially if you let them know your fielding other offers/interviews.
      I would definitely agree not to take the first school you get an offer from but it probably best you interview with as many schools as you can in a short period of time close to mid-october in order to get the most options on the table in a short period of time. Schools will likely not hold your offer from now until then, in my opinion. I hope that helps!! And good luck with your search!✨

    Is it possible for Indian citizen to apply for Hagwon? I mailed in EPIK but there are so many criteria.

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aien! Unfortunately, I don't believe so. To work at a hagwon you need to be eligible for the E2 VISA. The E2 visa is only issued to citizens of one of the seven following native English-speaking countries: the United States, Canada, UK, Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! In most cases, the pay will be clearly outlined in the job posting. It is often written as a range but only varies by 100 or 200 USD. I wouldn't bring it up in a 1st interview but I think it is fair game in a 2nd one. If they like you enough they'll just send a contract with the details included right after your first call.

    • @archerart
      @archerart 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CamilleBlais Ah I heard about the hagwon I am applying to through current teachers that reccommened me the job and not through a job posting. All I know is that pay is negotiable. But I'll wait to see if it comes up in an interview or is specified in the contract- thank you!
