- The front struts get reassembled and so does the front subframe. Very satisfying process with all the freshly redone parts! Some upgrades along the way. Enjoy!

Better than new. This front assembly looks really good.
Thank you! I’m quite happy how it turned out. The powder coaters do a great job
Amazing job, and great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
WOOOW So satisfying to watch . turned out wonderful
Thank you!
Amazing to see the parts in new condition.
I fill the wheel bearings with grease complete by hand before mounting.
Something special about shiny new on a old car 👍
Immaculate job, looking forward to next episodes
Project Binky & David's Garage in one weekend?!?!?! Great video
Project Binky is amazing! Love what they are doing
Thank you for sharing
Hi David, look at Episode 1 of front end at 8:43. And compare with rebuild video 8:03. Good Job!
Excellent. Thanks.
Very satisfying to watch this overhaul!
May I ask where you got those brake lines? Still need those for my project!
underrated
Great video. do you have a site with a breakdown of all the parts you had to pick up?
David, please take a look for videos to stabilize your engine mounts. Its a weak point of the BMW 2002.
Beautiful! Did you bend the brake lines yourself? They look so trick when they're new like that
Hi David, awesome build, great skill set!! Just wondering if there were ventilated front discs available for those Tii struts.
I believe there is. The Calipers off an E9 are actually the same but they have a spacer for vented discs. I'm sure someone's done that swap
I'll be the next guy, k thanks...
Great videos!
Question: To where did you send bolts and hardware to have plated? What is that type of gold/brassy looking plating called?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you!
I send it off to a local industrial coating place. The coating is a zinc dichromate coating. Hope that helps!
Looks like you used polyurethane bushings everywhere, is that accurate? If yes, how is the harshness? Thinking to do the same.
David, My auto shop class in Palo Alto is using your videos to restore front suspension on a 72' 2002. We have parts out at the plating co and powdercoater today. Done next week. We have found all the parts except the strut boot. Can you share part number for Bilstien boot? were using KYB but no one has to know. Regards, Mr. Grim
That's good to hear! Good question! I wouldn't know. Might be able to find it on Autohauz? I believe the boot came with the shocks.
Hey David where did you buy all this new parts
....where did you get the lowering springs again ?
At the 11:50 mark the idler arm bushings just went in. I am having a very difficult time installing mine. I used 32211115116 URO Bushings. Any suggestions?
Where do you buy the repalce parts that you needs?
David, where in the country are you? Kinda looks like Wisconsin. I’ve got my 73 2002 fully disassembled and basically using your videos as a rebuild guide. Hopefully you have videos on electrical harnesses, all the plumbing, gas lines, brake lines, ac/heater rebuilds, upholstery…..
Haha, I don’t have all those videos. Good luck on the rebuild! I’m up in Canada
@@davidsgarage I’m trying to record my restoration work, but I’m afraid my production value is going to be pretty terrible.
Where you buy the parts?
