I think you are amazing! Your enthusiasm alone is worth its weight in gold, but the talent you share and the very useful freeing techniques are beyond valuable-TY for all these wonderful videos. I now see shapes everywhere!!!!
Love your videos, I've started a sketch book after watching some of your videos. I even did some urban sketching for the first time on holiday in Portugal 2 weeks ago. Your urban sketching is amazing. I've loved trying this technique. It makes a lovely change from my usual watercolour painting. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👩🎨🖌️🎨
I made the mistake of treating water colour like gouache. It took a few attempts and watching youtube to realise it wasn‘t called water colour just because you add water. Water is a key component of the work to blend, soften and deepen the medium. Thanks for all the tips, education and inspiration Toby. ❤🎉😊
Exactly this! Yesterday I repeated a picture in watercolour, that I'd previously completed in acrylic, and in gouache. Of the two I preferred the acrylic previously, but this time I found my watercolour version to be just as flat as the gouache version. Needed a lot more work with glazes to get the contrasts I was imagining. Also it's too precise, as is the line-work. I'm slowly realising that (for me) the different media require different styles.
Loved this! Ugh…hate to mention this but…did I see your water container with brushes just sitting in it while you sketched and talked? Surely not, must have been a vision or something! Please don’t ruin your brushes by soaking them in water!

No seriously I was shocked. Never knew you can apply a glaze fast to a. Watercolor and make it look like 1.000.000$. Thanx!
