    that is so cool I had no idea there was such a prominent Basque community in Boise. Honestly, I don't think I knew anything about Boise before your video. We love Basque country and their cuisine is one of our favorites in the WORLD. I have a really special place in my heart for basque culture, not only because we've had great memories there but because I have basque heritage in my lineage. Great video you guys! The rafting looked so fun!

    This is interesting because me and my 5 roommates moved from born/raised in Boise, ID and moved to LA, CA last year in January. We wanted to work in the entertainment industry (film/TV industry). We understand that CA is really expensive to live. But living in ID was the wasted time for our lives and the worst state ever. “Don’t CA My ID” is the worst phase we have ever heard.

    • @TouristtoLocal
      @TouristtoLocal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh how interesting! Our state (california) gets a lot of hate, but it's still a great state in our opinion. We'd be curious to hear what you think of some of our recent videos up north around the bay!

      Interesting. We moved from California to Boise a few years ago. We don't dislike California, just prefer Idaho. Absolutely love it here, but totally get that it's not for everyone. Isn't it incredible that we live in the US with so many wonderful, unique, and diverse places to live? Blessings and wish you all the best in LA.

      The phrase “Don’t California my Idaho” isn’t just seen in Idaho 😂. Most states with a low costs of living and a vibrant economies are facing challenges from Californians fleeing high taxes and rampant crime.

      Hey there! Totally get where you're coming from. We're just on a fun mission to share every state in the USA and Mexico. Travel isn’t necessarily just changing zip codes 😉 tourism can be a big boost for local economies. It supports small businesses, jobs, and more. We love giving a shoutout to awesome places like Boise and hope folks visiting will spend locally and responsibly. Cheers for the feedback! 🙌

    Deadly dull, homogenous and bland city, sorry. Visited from NY once and was climbing the wall after a couple of days. The Basque presence is really wildy exaggerated, too. People have these silly fantasies of the grass being greener elsewhere.

      In Boise, you can go skiing in winter (affordable, 20min away), hike, hunt, fish in summer. It has the best coffee shops in the country in my opinion (and yes, I visited NY many times). Restaurants are truly bad but I just cook at home. It is so safe kids still play outside, riding their bike, school system is really good.

      I live in Boise and have lived/visited cities around the world. Boise is one of the cleanest cities I've been to. There are some industrial areas that look, well, industrial. But the overall feel is very clean. Nor have I seen any indication of a large drug problem. Have yet to find a needle or other paraphernalia around town.
