- Ahead of International Cat Day, photographer Justin Ng explains his obsession with Larry, the beloved Downing Street cat. Justin, an Australian native, is popular on social media for sharing his pictures of the thirteen-year-old brown and white tabby, that has been a permanent fixture of the British Prime Minister's residence since 2011.

Larry didn't like Liz Truss,supposedly and neither did the country. Maybe Rishi,but David Cameron was his first Love and He put up with Boris like Most Humans. He didn't come out for Boris's fairwell speech. Larry has taste.🇬🇧 🐈😊
You can see that Larry feels safe and recognizes Justin. He leaves the window sill and trots over to him. He has earned Larry's respect
I agree, cats won't approach everyone but he def seems quite comfortable approaching Justin.
Absolutely and a real pleasure to say that your pertinent observation is worth repeating. For you are truly blessed aye and in the words of the psalmist [ 😇! ] « that ain’t nothing! » when Moggie gives to you its trust…Watch and with pleasure how cats like to stand in your company looking onto to whatever is going on before them ie in peace with your company, together with you in safety to view what might turn up in the apparent tranquility of the shared scene held in common between you… you are like two field commanders on the watch!
That said, and true, the other side of the coin is similarly tremendous to wit should you by some unwilled clumsiness that Moggie perceive as an affront directed at him you will have your work cut out to regain trust lost by perceived betrayal… »Once bitten twice shy » is very much a moggie’s motif: ie a cat’s insurance policy…But, thank goodness, not impossible with patience and diligent understanding.
He's comfortable with the common people and seems to like being away from most of the politicians.
I'm sure the treats helped too!
@@G6JPG unless a cat is hungry, it would not accept food from someone they do not trust. It helps to make friends but it's not the same as a friendly dog. Cats are more skittish and less trusting of strangers.
The only problem with this video is that it's too short, endless Larry is what we need!

Larry is a true professional. He gets the photos done, knows exactly what poses the photographers want and is quite generous with the time he gives them. Especially considering he is a global celebrity!!!
Justin Ng is so gentle and kind to Larry. You can see how Larry trusts Justin when he trots to Justin with his tail up - so endearing.

I love seeing pictures of Larry the Cat. He is such a handsome beast, and goodness know what he makes of his world, split as it is between mad human beings in one building directing the affairs of the country, and another group of mad beings outside with lights, cameras and microphones.
