Private Investigator Thomas Magnum likes the good life. How could he not when serving as the permanent 'house guest' of celebrated author Robin Masters at his luxury Hawaiian getaway. Magnum helps the unseen millionaire with security and in return he gets to live in paradise, drive his employer's Ferrari 308 GTS and romance those beautiful Hawaiian ladies.
Magnum takes on only cases that suit him but they usually end up bringing him face to face with drug dealers, assassins and brutal thugs, and he enlists the help of his ex-marine buddies T.C. and Rick when the action gets tough. But the one constant thorn in his side is by-the-book, ex-British Army Sergeant Major Higgins, who rules the estate as with strict regime... with the aid of two Doberman Pinschers.
The natural successor to television's Hawaii Five-0 (which left the air the same year), MAGNUM, P.I. went on to become a long-running hit thanks to Tom Selleck's cheeky performance, the glamorous surroundings, action plots and comic interplay with John Hillerman as Higgins.

Don't remember this one, but in my opinion the intro song most people know of is one of the most iconic tv show intro's of all time!!!

Yeah this was for the first 4 or 5 episodes. If you buy it on DVD/blu-ray, they use this for the intro for a little bit of the first season - I'm assuming for the episodes it was used for originally.

i dont know why but i feel like this one fits Magnum better. i love both but this one kinda combines the 'action hero' feel with a bit of 'chilling on the island' as well as magnum being a bit of a cheeky goof

I love this opening it was used for the first 13 episodes the music by Ian Freebairn Smith is fantastic and I wish they had kept this but they went with the more exciting music by Post & Carpenter which I never liked as much as this music it's stylish and classy and elegant.

For me the most memorable of the series were the impressive legs and thighs of Tom Selleck, who looked in mini shorts, in accordance with the fashion of the time. Tom is the sexiest man ever to appear on television. 🔥🔥🔥

Going back over the series, the first title sequence was around for much of the first season. I don't dislike it but it doesn't hold a candle to the follow-up theme.
