Butterfly evolved from breaststroke as breaststrokes experimented with changes to the stroke to go faster they changed to overwater arm recovery which was designated a separate stroke in the 1930s. Men’s world records for 100 metres in a 50 metre pool aka Long Course as swum athe Olympics and World Championships are 49.45 for Butterfly and 56.88 for Breaststroke so there is a significant speed difference between the strokes.
on this video, is the swimmer closer to the screen doing breaststroke? and I never understand why all these swimmer not t put their foot on the pad, just the toes area? shouldn't it make more sense to use the entire foot's strength to yank against the pad to gain as much distance as possible? P.S. what is a "heat"?

That's what sprint fly is though. In br, you physically have to take a breath, where as fly you don't. If Qin could, he'd be breathing in negative oxygen.
@@АлександрЧёрный-т4уfunny enough, they would not. Peaty at his best was consistent in practice, basically anytime anywhere, where as they would need to be at their best.
@@LittleLozit's like comparing someone running and walking. even average guy would win against a pro. ofc the difference isn't that big in the swimming but it's still a pretty big difference

As a swimmer taking a breath it doesn't matter if you can keep swimming fast until the end .

It does lmao. Breathing slows you down
A breath slows you down?
And the dude probably didn’t even take an actual breath since that’s how breaststroke works
It’s probably about consistency
Yes breathing does slow you down slightly but you breath only because you need oxygen to operate at maximum capacity
@@koltennguyen9604 Yes it does bro, a breath could make you lose by 0.01 seconds bro
Holy smokes, that's fast breaststroke!
Qin kept up with Yufei crazily well
the girl did not take even one breath!
Xdddd yeah and its not legal

Qin and Zhang, They are all Olympic finalists .Top swimmer in the World
Is this Qin Haiyang?
Qin Haiyang's BR v.s Zhang Yufei's Fly
It is great to catch up with the speed of the backstroke with breaststroke, but it is following the butterfly.
Fly will always be faster than breast
👍awesome footage
Damn that girl is fast asf and did not take one breath. 😂
It depends on how fast the swimmer is.
Try it if it's Adam Peaty
Эмма Маккеон и Сара Шестром сделают с Пити тоже

How many meters is it here?
50 метров
Ya’ll got to understand that he is way faster and men are just better.
If he's faster why did he lose?
butterfly is the second fastest stroke, breast stroke is the slowest
@@DaBagwette he still lost tho.

how long this pool is?
50 yards probably

@@ShaiLahav-jh7dl yeah there is haha. search it up
Peaty will beat this butterfly
There is reason it is the second fastest swimming technique
Uhhhh… I’m pretty sure it’s the slowest stroke, I know the speed ranking to be 1)free, 2)fly, 3)back, and 4)breast
@@cartert147I think he was referring to the fly...
HOW ARE THEY SO WHITE WHILE US ARE SO BROWN SKIN
💀
Was wondering if breastrole could be without the breathing
No, you have to take a breath every stroke
괴멋있당
발차기를 못하네
You should have done same sex races not one boy one girl. It doesn’t give an accurate picture
It wasn't for accuracy, it was to amaze us
If a boy was doing fly they wouldn’t have fit in the same frame
Fly is the 2nd fastest stroke and breast stroke is slowest, so fair enough
Steroidal swimmers, the Chinese!!
Doesn’t matter they are both cheats shouldn’t even be allowed to swim ngl
??
Agree😊
how?
@@ThomasHenderson-f7m Both of them tested positive for drugs, but for some reason, fina is allowing them to compete
