Great examples. The first horse which is a Farriers dream was standing with his knees/leg a little back from his chest.

He most definitely is, I’ve never witnessed him standing any other way, which probably contributes to his upright hoof capsule. Thanks for the comment!

I would love to send you some pics of my arabian. She has the high/low hoof; however, it is not that exaggerated. Yet, we have some problems going on. Her right front is her low heel. This is causing here to flare between trimmings because now her bars are growing out and towards the toe. Evidentially, she needs to be adjusted weekly because of the extra hoof wall growth. I need to know how to BOTH correct the high low and also how to get here heels in the correct place while encouraging her bars to grow straight and therefore not give her flaring. Is there any way I could send you some pics and get your advice? I cannot afford weekly trimmings at 50 bucks a pop. I may need to do this myself

I’d be happy to try and help via pictures and videos. If you’d like to send some to my email I’ll do my best to evaluate them and give you my best guess on what you could do to help. My email is westernstatesfarrier@gmail.com

Have you considered load sharing through a leather or frog support pad to help engage that prolapsed frog? Love the rocker to help get around COR.

I have yet to integrate pads for this for this horse. As much as I’d love to, I just don’t think it’s in the cards for this client currently. Thanks for the comment!

Great commentary and explanation. No mention re HPA that your first horse is camped under in front though, lol, As for second horse, really like seeing your full fit on the heels and under the bulbs, but for improving heel condition, how about using a frog support pad with DIM, and floating the heels slightly? And finally, your vids are such a treat after the usual skim over the process without insight or explanation majority, more please. Nice country in the background there, southern Alberta or Sask, or Montana?

Thanks for the compliments! As much as I’d love to integrate either pads or bar shoes on this horse, he travels very well so it’s hard to justify them currently. Thanks again for watching and engaging on my videos.

how do you correct low heels? I am thinking perhaps my mare needs shoes but I don't want her feet to depend on the shoe and grow normally
