I kinda love that they're not afraid to go full-comic weird. It's clear that the people behind '97 love the original show.
I swear I read this same comment somewhere.
@@ladyhotep5189 You most likely did, I follow a few reaction channels so it's easier for me to just copy/paste rather than write an entirely new thing for each one.
@@HellfireCommsEw.
@@han-df9mw Work smarter, not harder.
@@HellfireComms In this case, it’s neither.
Morph facing his trauma was excellently executed. Since he was caught by Sinister and experimented on in the old show, they obviously did not go into details about how bad it was. But, this episode makes it clear it was traumatic. Morph rising above it was impressive.
And, that moment outside Sinister's lair, when Magneto gently put his hand on Morph's arm when he was visibly shaken. So supportive and unexpectedly tenderhearted.
The voice actor did an excellent job as well. Despite the fact that he’s not the original voice actor, I felt so much history and trauma behind that “Not again.”
The smartest man in the Mansion forgetting that Jean does not have to "go anywhere" to join the battle was funny.
❤🎉!PS, Please let Cable, Deadpool, Psylocke, She-Hulk,BlackCat, and Captain Marvel! WF-😎😉✌️👌🎊🎉
In the comics Scott has Superior DNA meaning he has the perfectly pure Mutant genes to create Omega level mutants. Sinister cloned jean because he knew a child born from her and Scott would be unstoppable.
Jean also has that Omega level mutant DNA, probably moreso than Scott since she's an Omega level mutant and Scott isn't but his brother, Gabriel "Vulcan" Summers is.
I also always found it weird that the offspring of Jean and Scott were always Omega level psychics but weren't energy manipulators like the rest of the Summers family. Unless you count Nate Grey's ability to manipulate energy through his telekinetic abilities but that's really matter manipulation being applied to energy.
Powerfully enough to slap Scarlet Witch.😅
@@BaithNa I read a theory that the psionic field around cyclops might be like birdfeed(phoenix reference) for psychics. Which might be why psychics are drawn to him.
P.S: still sad that they aren't letting my boy Vulcan shine. Other than participating in terraforming mars he's been a bit of a psycho
It seems like the story here might be sinister creating a time loop in service of Apocalypse/himself... because Sinister creating Cable means Cable helps create Apocalypse who helps create Sinister...its seems like Sinister was alluding to this future/past
Yeah his genes. His younger brother Vulcan is an Omega level, so their genes are like gold or something.
The doll young Jean is holding is a classic mythological Cyclops.....
I didn't notice the first time I watched, either.
Wow! Thats such a cool Easter egg.
It first appeared in the Dark Phoenix adaptation in the '92 cartoon.
This episode is how Multiverse of Madness should have been done, orchestrated horror with abstract images that will make the audience think
+martinfrias5519
It still was. It's just that a LOT of stuff happened behind-the-scenes.
And here the Multiverse of Madness hate starts…predictable
No worries about you not knowing things from the comics, Jaby. You're not obligated to know these things
Let them hate away
Keep up the great work
X-men 97 is really leveling up the story telling, and animation, it's so much better than I was expecting it to be.
you didn't really need to explain yourselves to the gatekeepers. there's no rule that you can't watch or enjoy something without knowing all the lore behind it. Just because you didn't say "Blind Reaction" to your titles doesn't mean you know everything about it.
Some level of defense: everyone saying Cyclops's blasts are concussive were giving legit clarification. Everyone flat out spoiling who the clone is and who Nathan is grown up are a**holes
Some level of defense: everyone saying Cyclops's blasts are concussive were giving legit clarification. Everyone flat out spoiling who the clone is and who Nathan is are jerks
agreed. its pretty much enough to say u never read the source material. Most fans would be like ok. Its the dumbasses that would insult you for it.
Yep. And as an adaptation in its own continuity it should be able to stand on its own and knowing the original stories shouldn't be a requirement for understanding the show. If you DO know the comics, you can point at practically every scene going "LOOK LOOK!" for the extra stuff the creators hid in there, but even people who never touched a comic in their life can still enjoy the show.
@@ariwl1this is so spot on. If you have to pass a gate that limits the audience tremendously. This show is providing enough backstory and info. There are soooo many issues of various X-men comics. Among fans, most have not read them all, will not convince me otherwise.
Forge is the one who built Bishops time travel tech in the future. We’ve already meet him and Cable in the old series
also Forge is the one that built the weapon that took away Storm's powers. He also helps to get her powers back. Curious to see how they adapt that story arc in the show.
Deadpool's gonna be watching this episode and say, that kid's gonna grow up to be a dark person that you will question if he's from the dc universe
And has a dubstep soundtrack following him everywhere.
And have to fight his natural racism
And he’ll be racist
I want Deadpool to appear again in the show but have him break the 4th wall
and that he’s racist

I don't mind Jaby not having encyclopedic comics knowledge. Just so long as comments are kept respectful.
It may not have this channel, but I remember commenting on one of the reactions last week that it is fun to watch people unfamiliar with the source material react to something with a deep lore. Whether Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or whatever.
New people falling in love for the first time with a franchise we have loved since childhood is a neat journey.
Agreed! 🙏🏽

Yeah, the team could have its Jean and Logan eat his Madeline, too.

@@JeshuaSquirrelright 😂
5:26 Yeah, Mr. Sinister has an obsession with Jean and Cyclops' genes. He predicts that their child will be the ultimate mutant. So, he wants them to have a child so he can enslave him.
That’s always been weird to me. Jean makes sense, but Cyclops? I love the guy, but he’s a pretty standard mutant. If it was Vulcan, that would be different. My head anon is that Cyclops would have been an omega level mutant if it wasn’t for his head injury.
@@CatotheE head injury or not that doesn't change his DNA. He would still be an omega level mutant. Gambit is also an omega level mutant but he just chooses never to tap into his full power because he doesn't have full control over it. So yeh it sucks that Cyclops doesn't have full control over his powers.
@@CatotheE Actually is more simple than that, Jean has a meta gene capable of exponential mutation, basically, Jean's create infinty range of power (why she's Omega) but without genetic stability.
Meanwhile Scott's bloodline has a gene capable of stabilizing exponential mutations, that's why a child of them (or a clone mixing both of their genes) would indeed be one of the most powerful mutants ever
Oh no no no. Cy is soooo not a standard mutant. The fact that his eyes are a gateway to another dimension with unlimited concussive energy is nuts. He's not Omega level but he's up there. Plus its the combo of their genes not just Jean's. @@CatotheE
@@markcruz359 Gambit had brain surgery to limit his power. It isn't about him not tapping into his full power. He nerfed himself permanently for safety.
How can this episode be so heartbreaking but yet so hopeful at the same time? Well crafted episode
Man they drew the Goblin Queen WELL. Lol 😈
She a *BADDIE* 😍😍😍😍😍
Yet they took away Rougues butt 😒
@@justinnbucano5443 she never had one she was drawn at that angle because she fell.
Why she like the black queen outfit.
that is NOTHING compared to how she was drawn in the comics. ooo la la.
In the comics Madelyne Pryor eventually has a relationship with Scott’s brother and more recently with Peter Parker’s Clone Ben Riley. She and Scott aren’t really a thing again after Cable is born.
I think she had a relationship with a ver of her son too think his name is nate gray
aw man, I wasn't going to give away that spoiler, but you already did!
nobody cares stop spoiling shit for them, it might happen in the show.
Christ, given the shite she's pulled over the years, I figured she'd be dead by now.
okay but her having a relationship with another clone makes so much sense like they’d really understand another
This adaptation of the Madeline Pryor/Goblin Queen story arc is honestly FAR better than in the comics. Originally Madeline broke bad not because of Sinister’s influence, but from Scott abandoning her for the real Jean. Which made Scott look horrible because while Madeline is a clone she’s still the mother of his child and their feelings for each other were in fact real. And I loved that in the end Madeline was freed of Sinister’s control and will now live her own life free to do what she wants. It was also a great idea to have their memories merge so that no one knows who was who during when.
Also I loved her costume redesign. Instead of looking like it was designed by a horny teenage boy she looks like an actual witch. And I’m still surprised that the animators made the nightmare scenes look like if Guillermo Del Toro did a remake of The Thing.
Originally, no one knew Madeline was a clone, in the comics. Why didn't anyone notice that she looked EXACTLY like Jean? I agree that it was handled much better in this episode. You have the benefit of hindsight. It's like getting a second chance at cleaning up continuity.
I agree. The story was handled horribly in the comics.
It is much, much better in the new series. Specially because in the comics Madelyn was not posing as Jean, so for Scott to toss her out like that... 🤣.
In here, they introduced her, so, she got to exist in animated form, but gave her a much better resolution.
Everyone noticed she looked like Jean, and were shocked when they saw her. At one point Mastermind tried to trick the X-Men into killing her by using his illusions to make them think she was Dark Phoenix returned.
Amen! 🙏🏽💪
Forge is a good guy and a mutant. He is also a Native American Vietnam vet. His power is that he can build a device that to solve almost any problem.
What Reed Richards and Tony Stark can do with technology due to intelligence and training, he can do by mutant talent.
Amen! 🙏🏽💪
XD Forge had even made an fancy coffee maker and instant drying unit for when you are drenched in the rain. I've loved Forge since the '80s. With Forge around you'd never have too worry about needing too replace appliances.
Bishop absorbs all types of energy and then increases the output.
When Cyclops abandons his son from the room, even saying that he would not abandon him.
It all instantly gave us that reality of many who watch the show!!!
Don't worry. Forge is a good guy.
And Nathan is Cable in case you don't know.
In the comics Scott left Madelyn and Nathan when Jean came back to life after the whole Dark Phoenix situation. She in turn went insane and gained demonic magic by selling her soul and she gained the name Goblin Queen because she literally was the queen of demons.
I liked what they did here better. It makes Scott less of a dick.
@@ArcaJthe writers in the comics were sabotaging Scott and then FOX with their Wolverine centric movies. I’m glad that Scott is now getting his justice.
yea I think that was a complaint with a good amount of readers of the arc in the comic that they made Cy look like a straight asshole.@@ArcaJ
Wow the beginning of this video is very new. Jaby reacting and reading the comments and put it in the video. I wish you guys keeps doing this style so that even if you don't respond on our comments, we can still know that you still reads it. :)
Achara: "Sinister's Bitch". Lol
I also wish you guys react again to an episode breakdown video like you do before so that you could know more about what this story is heading at base on the comics.
Even with two Jeans, poor Wolverine still doesn't have a shot :) Love me some Forge, love that the great Gil Birmingham gets to voice him!
Wolverine actually thought he could clap those cheeks while Scott was away
Logan's obsession has always been wack. Dude is 200+ years old.
When you called cyclops beams lasers I knew they was coming for you lol
8:19 Bishop should have said, "Beam me up, Scotty!" 😂😂
Missed opportunity
Cyclops: "I won't be like my father. I won't abandon my son"
Also Cyclops: Walks out of the room 10 seconds later
I thought the same thing lol
@@Abhijeet_Tripathi_ LOL whoops i'm sorry it seems i mixed it up with another comment i read recently, one that wasnt a joke. Nevermind.
His father were kidnapped by Space Aliens
😂 the comic book accuracy
@coreylevine8095 Very true. His father didn't just leave him and Scott knows that, but he has suffered quite a bit of trauma. Even though he knows the truth, probably the little boy in him still feels abandoned.
That toy that little Jean was holding is a cyclops.
I love the Fact that Jaby has read the comments, most youtubers don't pay attention to the comments unless its overwhelmingly negative. If you are reading this, keep at it, the comments will enlighten you on your path to growing your channel healthy and strong.
I honestly love that you guys are coming into this with just the 90s cartoon as your knowledge base.
Kind of wish the comments didn’t spoil the twists for you tbh
i appreciate how much source material they used from the comics! this entire episode felt it was straight outta the comics and the art style on the episode was great.
There are so many Easter eggs in this.
1. We saw Morphs real face, which explains why he doesn't use it..
2. Morph changes into Illyiana I think is her name. She was play by Anna Joy in New Mutants.
Colossus sister, Magik.
The face Morph changes to was when he was brain washed by Sinister and made himself look ghoulish. He has his normal face still, shown in episode 1 of '97 at the club.
12:38 That one-eyed toy?
That one-eyed toy is a… cyclops.
Cyclops eyes are portals to a universe made entirely of energy.
Hey Jaby, not sure if anyone's told you, but did you know cylcops has concussive blasts!!! 😱😱😱
I'm surprised no one called them "punch beams" instead. Especially when, at one point, the source of the blasts was supposedly the "punch dimension." 😆
17:10 I love Achara's woman's intuition when it came to Forge 😅😏.
I appreciate your perspective. If the animated show was your only entry point into X-Men, welcome.
Haha! Now people are seeing the complexity of Jean Grey as a character. I love it!
Jaby's reaction to the body horror was hilarious. I had the same reaction 😂
Since they have 3 seasons planned and are not shy of getting into somw of the weirder aspects of the X-Men comics, I hope they eventually adapt the Age of Apocalypse, introduce Nate Grey so they can set up Onslaught and then do Age of X-Man before finishing the series with Krakoa and the House of X/Powers of X storylines.
Since animation characters can't age. They can do six seasons and do almost all the comic stories.
If they do Onslaught. Imagine if they bring back the Fantastic Four and along with them Franklin
Sinister’s obsession with Cyclops has always been weird for me. From a meta perspective, I have to believe it’s just because Cyclops is arguably the most important character in the X-books.
The comics explain it as the Summers family having the capacity to manipulate energy and the Grey family having the potential for Omega levels telepathic abilities coming together to make the ultimate mutant.
@@BaithNa I get that, but you’d think Scott would be an omega level mutant if they were going to go down that road.
Scott's era was the emergence of mutantkind tracing their generation of heroes. Scott was one of the most powerful energy-related natural born being whose optic blast could destroy mountains. Sinister love experimenting evolution and has a twisted understanding of Darwanism. he loves playing with mutants the most due to natural born powers instead of synthetic ones like most of the original avengers and Fantastic Four. also every child scott had with jean were all omega class mutants
It's because his GENES are the most important material for a geneticist manipulate to create Omega Mutants.
Scott’s gene pool is crazy. Even his brothers are powerful. Havok and Vulcan are problems.
My Goblin Queen is here... 😍😍😍😍😍😍
9:11 Madelyne: "Say my name Scott.."
Scott: *mini-gasm*
Yep, he was definitely getting flashbacks to the night they created Nathan.
In the comics Forge helps Strom get her powers back and they end up being together also he's the guy who sent Bishop back to the past in the original series
12:42 Jean with a toy of a cyclops 🤭. Which makes me wonder, did she come up with Scott's codename in the comics?
I was one of the commenters featured in the video, and dude, no worries! We don´t want you to feel bad about not knowing everything about X-Men / comic book lore, we just want to help you know about cool details so that you can enjoy a teeny bit more, something that we enjoy very passionately!
So glad you took the time to address the previous reactions to episode 1 and 2. I did feel some type of way about what I felt was a lack of knowledge concerning the X-men. Following your explanation and addressing of the comments, you now have my full support 👍🏾 Looking forward to future reactions.
Jaby is hilarious hahaha. That’s what he supposed to say to you hahaha
8:35 😂😂😂 Achara on point 😂
11:15 as well 😂 baby no.2
Cyclops: "I will not abandon my son" then immediately abandons his son.

1:41 I didn't say you were wrong, it's funny that your first concern about Wolverine was his height. 🤣🤣🤣

New people falling in love for the first time with a franchise we have loved since childhood is a neat journey.
Keep up the good work! It's cool that you do the reactions without prep time. Makes them more genuine! I hope my responses last week didn't seem harsh. You're great!
This is where the fun begins!!!!!! 🙏🏽💪
I love the bishop dynamic of every time he goes back to the future he’s nervous about what he’s gonna see bc he’s fear is that he made things worse than before.
Here they gave an air of pure terror with the presence of Madelyin and Mr. Sinister. It was so epic to admire. ♦♦🔥🔥❌
And Mr. Sinister only wants the DNA of both Jean and Scott to create legitimate mutant soldiers of higher levels such as alpha, omega and other more unattainable ones.
FYI, Mr Sinister's real name is Nathaniel Essex, so that mean when Clone Jean names her son Nathan, it was basically a subliminal message he left in her. like she knew the name was important because it was the name she was in trawl to.
Thanks for reading comments. Its really helps. Besides it doesn't hurt to see your comment being featured on some of your favourite youtuber's video
I mean it makes sense why they'd send Bishop to the future, that's his home 😂
I'm convinced now that Rogue and Magneto is a misdirect--he's helping Rogue try to control her power but Gambit thinks it's romantic because of his insecurity.
I did not read the comics and only watched a few episodes of the show back in the day. I am really loving this continuation and come to reactors like YOU (and the comments) for the rest of the info.
Love the scene with Wolverine and Jean because as always, he's 2nd to Scott.
I kinda hate that so many people in the comments of these X-men -97 reactions get so upset that people might not have read the comics. chill. if anything, we should be excited to see people be able to experience these amazing storylines for the first time. this isn't the first reaction channel where I've seen these kinds of comments, either. it's kinda toxic and gatekeep-y. I wish folks could just let people enjoy new content without having to feel superior to them, but I guess the internet is gonna internet.
anyway, thanks for the reaction Jaby and Achara! I'm excited to see your reactions to the next two because this show just keeps getting better and better. ❤
Wolverine doesn't want a clone, lol. And the clone still has a mind of her own, and after having that second awakening who's to say she wants any part of that life.
I lovecthe distinct differences between Madelyne and Jean in this episode. it is hard to tell but i like that they made Madelyne Pryors Eyes are Green versus Jeans eyes are Blue. Maybe they were showing the difference between their powers but thats cool.
Forge is a master builder and a love interest of Storm
Cool disclaimer, part of the fun of watching reactions is to see people who are stranger to the original stuff to fall in love with it.
I believe u will became a major fan and give us trully heartfull reactions.
12:38 The toy in little Jean's hand when Prof X comes to meet her is the actual Greek mythological monster, "Cyclops", having just 1 eye. This is quite foreshadowing of how she ultimately ends up loving the mutant Cyclops (Scott).
This show is breathtakingly AWESOME ❤❤❤❤❤
And Jaby...Goblin Ho??? Come ON, Bro...😂😂😂😂
Achara, the man at the end of the episode is Forge. His creation, the Neutralizer is what depowered Storm in the comics. They have quite a past together.
I wonder why didn't Jean recognize Sinister's voice because he was already introduced when the X-Men rescued Morph I believe in season 2 in the original run?
I really love the new version. It feels more like they mature the show a bit like the way anime in Japan doesn't dumb it down for you. That's why I always loved anime more than American cartoons, but this is nice with it.
I'd have loved it if they waited and did the full "Inferno" storyline after introducing Fantastic Four, Dr.Strange and Avengers cartoons in this universe for a crossover. Maybe even the Spider-Man cartoon as well. That would've been awesome.
BTW: Wolverine and Jean were a couple in an alternate timeline where Professor X was killed accidentally by his son Legion who was trying to kill Magneto in the past and it altered the timeline. Funny enough by killing Professor X in the past Legion stopped himself from being born and disappeared. Wolverine was missing a hand that Cyclops had melted off,, but had a metal covering over it that his claws would pop out of. I forgot what the name of the storyline was because it has been awhile since I thought about it. Maybe it was called "Age of Apocalypse".
Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌ out.
Love these episodes because they look and feel like an excellent continuation of the original., keep them rolling!!!
jaby nailed it , "everyone of the xmen knows how that feels" 15:30
Totally agree that it's fun (and informative) to see your reactions because you're all insightful AND you don't know everything about the comics. If adaptations could only be appreciated by people who already know all the lore, they'd be pointless.

Jubilee: peace was never an option
I know right?! No hesitation! 😂💪
There is definitely a satisfaction watching a reaction from people who know the comics, or at least has familiarity with the lore. But it’s fun watching people trying to piece things together by themselves. Keep doing you guys, ignore the weird comments.
Jean's childhood toy was a cyclops get it cyclops12:37
This episode was crazy!
See boys and girls when you can do when you have a budget.
Maybe others did on their Patreon page but you two seemed to be the only ones on YT who acknowledged Magneto and Rogue were seemingly in the danger room getting in on the whole time GQ was destroying the mansion.
Something to keep in mind with the way Mister Sinister looks is that the Victorian geneticist origin isn't his original origin. When the character was created, he was intended to be a mutant child whose powers stopped him from aging decades ago. The Sinister identity was a projection or alternate form that he used to interact with the world, like an evil Shazam. He has a cheesy name and an over the top costume because he's a child's concept of a scary supervillain.
That backstory is lame. Glad they changed Sinister to be more of a real, adulterated threat.
how to make us nerd wizards have an aneurism, say its a laser beam, say magneto has the power of magnets :p man we are so nerdy at times, every time i talk about things like this to my loves eyes role back in her head so hard i can hear them crack into the back of her skull. you can judge what ever you want, how ever you want, we can argue that you are wrong, but this is you watching without every bit of history and what not so its how you take it. have fun and be patient, and remeber, we will always "well actually" you no matter how much you know because we are WizARDS
This episode was very quick and resolved everything quickly
Not sure if Madlyn would want to stay if her baby wasn’t there and being the “fake” Jean Grey. Bad memories, feelings, confusion, etc. Her going to the future instead of Bishop? Bishop’s been waiting to go back home, plus he knows what the future is like. Makes more sense for him to go (they could only send one person + baby.
I still love Jaby ❤ and being transparent with lack of knowledge from the comics. Love Maddie but wish we had more development of the Inferno storyline but I enjoyed it for this adaptation in the series. Wonder if Morph has a thing for Wolverine from the visual of Logan in a shower scene. Curious to see how Scott and Jean move forward in their relationship after this revelation of Maddie. Can’t wait for Storm storyline ❤❤
Forge can definitely help Storm
Though he definitely also wants to get into her pants
Logic in the X-men? Inconceivable!
It's optic blast like a push punch kinetic energy. Plus cyclops eyes opens portal to where that energy comes from.
It's kinda weird y'all think Jean would just default to Wolverine. She's her own person who always chose Scott.
The plot convenience: toss the baby out?
Was it the bath water?
I love her dancing to the tunes of x men theme 🎉
I think Jaby is looking at it as season 1 of Xmen97 when really it's season 6 of the original 90s series. A lot of his questions would at least be partially answered by rewatching the first 5 seasons. We already meet the guy with Storm at the end of the episode. He is an X-men member by the name of Forge. We already know who the baby is and meet his adult self. He is an X-men member named Cable.
Also a lot of this is playing with things from the comics. So while they are certainly abridging a lot of it, all the names and events are versions of things that happened in the comic books.
Loving your reaction to this show and while I don’t remember the original show much it makes me wanna go back and watch it lol but this episode was crazy! & I mean Logan and Jean kinda resolved there stuff before when Cyclops & Jean got married in the original show
It sucks that you guys need a disclaimer to say how much you know about Xmen. I love you guys for fresh, emotional reactions. I probably have delayed realizations from clues too from certain reveals lol.
Other channels that are more obvious about their comic knowledge like Reel Rejects is just that. They guessed what was about to happen well before the reveal and have knowledge of the biggest story arcs to guess what the season will do next. This can be good for keeping engaged and feeling like an informed consumer, but also bad because we may lose that that child-like surprise.
We don't always need to know everything. If you do have more knowledge, then great! It enhances your experience. But knowing too much can take away from enjoyment as well.
And even then the ones with knowledge don't know everything and get stuff wrong. Their comic expert thought Spiral was a Shiar in this episode, and I can't watch their Star Wars reactions anymore because of that 'expert'.
@CinelPals,in the scene with Forge introducing himself& his protentual to restore Storm's ability sorta gives off Tony Stark vibe where he was talking puny Banner at a bar(Ed Norton version ) about forming a certain team?. I bet the animated show is somehow paying homage to that scene& film crossover meeting,ha?.
Do you Jaby! I applaud you responding graciously to emotional comments from emotional people.
Ngl I actually enjoy watching Jaby and Achara react to it without any idea of the comics. It's more fun this way.
Forge has the mutant ability to make any tech sorta like tony stark
