    Great video, I’ve learnt a lot. I’m a first time block paver layer. I’ve just laid an L shape path around the back of the house which I’m really chuffed with, it’s turned out amazing. I now have my drive to block pave, (approximately 150 square meters) so I’m watching as many videos as I can, to learn as much as I can. 🙂 Anyway thank you, great video I’ve learned a lot. I’m uploading a video of my recent attempt. 🙂👍

    I am an enginer and quite a practical person, and have been watching your videos. So I feel confident I can block pave my youngest son's drive commencing 13th May, which is about 8m x 7m.
    I will try and make a video so you can have a laugh. 😅

    Hello Brickright team, great videos. I just have a query about whether you can lay block paving on a sand and cement mix? I've got a bit of a height constraint on a concrete path leading to a driveway (the conc path can't accommodate 25mm-50mm sharp sand to lay the blocks in, but I can afford about 10-20mm for a bed of mortar). Keep up with the great work and videos

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can lay block paving with mortar but only as a rigid paving system not as a flexible system which is normally seen in the uk.
      Check out this web site for the information you require.

    Probst screeder is ok on larger commercial jobs where you have a lot of screeding but if you knew how to screed you wouldn't bother with screed rails or probst screeder as quicker to set your marks using paving brick and string line and aluminum screed but when using it do a bit at a time pulling and pushing over area a few times before moving on making sure it's scraping rails but another good job lads,using the fine stone or grit for bedding layer comes into its own in inclement weather have a good week boys👍

    Hi Justin, when you go over the finished pavers and kiln dried sand with the compactor are the pavers sitting proud of the finished level? And if so by how much? We are laying a patio …..Eeek 😧 ! And not sure if we lay them to the finished level and just sweep the kiln dried sand in rather than mess it up at the final stage. If it wasn’t for your videos we wouldn’t have got as far as we have, so thank you to you and your lads 🤗

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping

    Hi Justin you and Brad have done an amazing job on the driveway and the curve on it and the Tobermore is a great looking block ! Do you think the blocks on to the pea gravel will be the way to go from now on with drainage problems and also up here in Scotland I have seen driveways we have done the sand freeze and cause the driveways to lift with the frost in the ground ! Do you thin the new screener would as effective with sand ? Congratulations on Wales qualifying for World Cup I will be cheering you on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Thanks for upload great job and hope Fraser wrist heals well !

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John
      Having used sand for many years .I think the 6mm is a better system. Water and bad weather won't effect it like sand some sand has arrived on site soaked not now with the 6mm. Water will pass through and you will not get any separation of material. Good point about the freezing and rasing the blocks its not gonna hold water like sand is it John.
      The sceeder will work great on sand but again the wetter the sand the harder it will be .The screeder is brilliant by the way a game changer.
      Thanks John great points there mate.ill pass that to frazer cheers enjoy the weekend

    Another cracking job, lads....I do agree with the clients though, the boundary wall finish didn't look right with the rest of the job....needs toned down a bit! I know how you lads feel with the heat and humidity the last while back, I felt like a burst balloon come Friday night...fully recharged for tomorrow morning again though! Grudging congratulations to Wales for qualifying for the World cup as well ;-)....your lads did to Ukraine what Scotland couldn't do. I was at Hampden and it was one of the worst performances I've seen in years from us. Enjoy the finals this winter!

      Totally agree on the wall Jim.We got the colour they chose but it wrong problem is the stuff isnt cheap .we've been back to Johnsons who have toned it down a lot for free for us so see how it works out.
      We lost to Scotland a good few timea since the 70s with some crazy ref decisions so was our time first time since 1958 in a world cup first time watching for many of us .i would of supported Scotland or any home nations as i always do but this time its special for us Jim

    Hi Justin may seem a stupid question but its a general question. Do all eco channel drains need a drain to run into. Because I've looked at some in my travels at various properties and some appear not to be connected to a drain. Am I talking gibberish or is this sometimes possible. For example could you run a channel drain across the front of a garage even if its not connected to a drain for the water to run into?

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris if the eco drain isn't connected to anything its incorrect. A lot.of the drains i see arnt connected to anything. Soakaways are what the drains should be connected to or other drains .on our play list we have examples of Soakaways many watch them for more info .
