    I believe this is what I need to get done to my 2008 mini Cooper turbo convertible!! I’ve been trying to get it for the least amount possible here in Los Angeles!!! Just curious to know what would you have charged to replace all three - crankshaft pulley, the seal and the belt - so I can know a ballpark figure of what’s high and what’s actually a good deal?!! Either way, I really really really appreciate the detail that you went through in explain explaining everything!!! TY GOOD Sir 🙏🏽💜🙏🏽💜🙏🏽 k

    Thank you very much sir for demonstrating how to install the drive belt and crank sealant.If not on your video I will not learn how to install them because it is very tricky.Lastly,may I know the part number and the size of the serpentine belt you’ve installed.Thank you and more power to both of you!!!😊

      Thanks for the feedback glad it helped. As for the belt question you will have to check for your specific model as each mini takes a different size.

    Always inspect the lip of the seal to make sure it is not rolled or curlsled. I'm sure it wasn't in the video, just an extra visual precaution to take because these seals can roll if they are put in by hand with uneven force.
    Again, the video was good! Just saying it's a good thing to look carefully at it. If an edge is curled an angle pick can tease it back out into place, just don't scratch that hub.

    Thank you very much for the video, I'm going to do this myself soon and looking for tools, when you removed the E10 bolts holding the pulley and used an impact wrench to prevent engine rotation, what amount of torque am I looking at from the impact wrench to ensure that there's no engine rotation?

    Thanks for the detail instructions. Just 1 question, the White coupler you used to push in the seal, is that a special tool or just a 2” pvc drain pipe?

    I need the bolt that holds that a/c bracket on the car. Every where I have called wants to sell me a sheet metal screw. It is not, it's a 10mm bolt. Can you tell me where I can get one? Or at least the part number of the bolt.

    What do you torque the 3 E 10 bolts to?

    On another video they detensioned the belt with a wrench instead of the special tool but had to have someone push the pin from the top while doing so- why doesn't someone have to push the pin when using the special tool at 6:30?

      Because he is holding it in maintenance mode with the long belt tensioner instead of putting it in maintenance mode with that pin up top either way works going to do this job on my mini this weekend hoping to find out where they got the parts for this 😂

    At the bottom of my gearbox, oil is collecting, and I suspect it's coming from the crankshaft sensor bracket. Should I replace the crankshaft sensor seal or the bracket?

    You should always put oil around the seal when driving in

    • @MadnessMotorworks
      @MadnessMotorworks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unnecessary and it can sometimes make it go in TOO easy and what can happen is that it goes in too far. Then replacing it all over again after you dig it out. Better to have it go in slowly and incrementally.

    • @tboneski3809
      @tboneski3809 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MadnessMotorworks thanks. Good to know. I have done it both dry and with oil. Both sealed fine. I think with oil it went in easier. I note the depth before removing and when replacing slowly drive the new one in close to the noted depth. But some people aren't careful. Have a good one.
