Doin' the Lord's work over here, nice CC. Funny dealership story: I took my F56 because the mesh screen at the sunroof was stuck forward. (rather it be stuck closed than open!) The delership said it was $3000 to fix. That's right, $3k. I asked "what's wrong with it". They said "it's stuck". No crap! lol. They continued to say they wouldnt know why it was stuck until they replaced the whole thing, which costs 3 freaking thousand big ones. Long story short my sunroof mesh will forever stay stuck closed lol.
I took mine in for an alignment since I doubt anyone does alignments in their garage. It was $190. They then randomly recommended I get my motor mount replaced for $1200 without specifying why they thought I needed it.
@@carcreationsyt I'm having an issue with steering wheel feedback around 70mph. I've had the tires rebalanced. Not sure what to look at next. I think they might have said that could be the motor mount.
@@OplixI had the same thing on my 2015 Mini. At higher speeds on the highway, usually over 65, it would randomly start vibrating and it felt like it was coming from the front driver's side wheel. I think it was an axle bearing problem or something. Happened maybe every 15-20 minutes while at that speed. I ended up trading in the car because I was around 90k miles at that point and my car had some decent value during COVID. I never found the true problem. Good luck!
You can look at the top engine side mount easily, as I read the one failing most, if it looks like it collapsed and if it leaks some oil it’s broken. Check on parts website for an image of a new one…
My 2020 Cooper S is on only 7500 miles. It had one dealer service and its recent MOT. I can't recall when its last service is due but I would keep it that long. My nephew is buying the car for an already agreed £18,000 GBP just as soon as he sells his VW Polo GTi. I will be getting a Mini Lvl 3 SE
@@carcreationsyt The new one is also going to be black. We do have Minis in the family, both my middle son and oldest daughter have an R55 clubman each and my youngest daughters name is Mini.
It would be better and much appreciated if you show what you are doing rather than just show the part and do it without showing us. Eg you show the electrical connectors and then you say take them out. But we can’t see that. Can’t see close up of you taking the spark plug out, just from a distance. Thanks!
If I'm not mistaken, this isn't a mechanics how-to video. If you don't have the common sense to go and have a look at your engine and to see what CC is on about then you shouldn't be playing with your car... or you could go do some research and find out exactly what you are suppose to do. Pro Tip: Don't rely on just one piece of information, especially if it's from some dude on the internet. Good luck and have fun!
Re: 3rd Gen Mini S Convertible Power Steering, Hi there! Is there any way to check the power steering fluid levels on a 2017 Cooper S? There seems to be zero information online that doesn’t say to just take it to the dealer/shop. Thanks! 5:04
Excellent video my friend, but do you know how can I register the service in the "Service History" in the car's computer? That would be very useful. Greetings from Mexico!
If I do an oil change myself, is there a way to enter it in the service manual? Same for the filter changes? Those are things I have done on my old Opel Corsa as well, but there it didn’t matter for resell value at all if the service manual wasn’t updated.
What about the break fluid ? Or the intake valve clean ? And coolant? Rotary tires 🛞? Pressure air ? Or fuel sistem clean inyector cleaner ??, and it’s good video but, just don’t only do the basic things for get view, and how long terms for every service
That is a great list, thank you! I’ll have to do a part two! My original list of service items was given me when I asked my mini service center for a quote but I guess there is a lot more than what they offered!
You shouldn’t be topping up brake fluid. It’s low for a reason. When brakes wear, piston travel increases so reservoir level decreases. When you change the pads and press the positions back in, you’ll leak fluid out of the reservoir

Your Mini Cooper has electric assisted power steering so it doesn't need fluid
