Finally Also you should mention if you start to port-forward you are also making your network less secure. Finally I also think you should mention if you are on the go your lag will increase drastic and it will use large amounts of data ( What is handy to know if your on a dataplan)

In the last part of the video you explain about how to turn on your pc from anywhere... But how to access the files after that? Should I have teamviewer or other app like that run in startup?
The program Parsec has much better quality and lower latency. For gaming I think that it is a must if you are streaming games to either another PC or your phone.

Google chrome remote has been the most reliable for me and your phone doesn't have to be on the same network. You can be on 4g. I use this to control my home pc while at work. Plus its stupid easy to setup. No router settings or anything just install sign-in and go.
How's the input lag? How much slower does it appear on android compared to the PC itself, or is it just as fast considering all the phone is doing is acting as a remote monitor for the PC?

All this that you suggest goes thru websites that as soon as you "set" your machines up the administrator of that site and its ppl also has access to your machines weather is phone or PC.... am I wrong?

There is no need to do any WOL over the WAN, that should all be done locally. Also never try to set up a stream from a local system over the WAN IP, as not all routers have NAT loopback.
on my network, splashtop lags during watching media as well, after a few minutes, the lag between the video and audio becomes obvious, any ideas on how to tweak the settings to make this go away?

Why not use the "Google Remote Desktop" for remotely accessing PC? We can hear the audio too.
If you didnt realise, you have to use chrome for that.....not everyone uses chrome

AirDroid is the way to do this imo. There are lots of apps that will do it, but AirDroid is a very mature platform.

Splashtop has a monthly subscription WTF! wish i knew that before going through the whole setup process.

Should of showed SSH access via Bash on Ubuntun on Windows and a command line app like Termux.
We can also get the IP address of the router/DHCP server by entering command ipconfig/all in command prompt.
