    Thanks! I'm 54 years old and I love technology! What's better is young smart people like you show me how to maximize it! You saved me at least 1400 bucks. I was getting ready to buy a new laptop!

    Super helpful! Doing rather lengthy 3D renders and it’d be nice to check on them from work to make sure there’s no errors and my 20 hour render doesn’t turn into a 40 hour render.

    This is also handy for live concert mixing, I can have my laptop in the crowd and listen to what the crowd hears, while my desktop with all it's ADAT racks and Cubase with all my low-latency pluggins is mixing the band - no long fiber optic cables, no 100 foot XLR runs. Just a laptop in the crowd.

I want to setup tv's in other parts of the house but I don't want to get more computers to power and control them. Example; laying in bed watching tv or casually surfing the net, I can use my phone to toggle through netflix or hulu, etc, with out reaching for a keyboard and mouse.

    I simply wanted to turn on my PC by remote control at home as I did not want to get up out of my chair with my yellow lab sitting on my lap. I also did not want to use a phone or app to turn it on and off so here is how I did it. I added a remote control to my Minisforum mini pc by adding a "remote control power strip". Set the Bios (hit delete button during boot up), change the setting to enable pc to start after power outage. Then simply turn the pc off normally but after pc shuts down power off the power strip. When you turn power strip back on PC boots up automatically. Simple, cheap and effective! Hope this helps everyone.

    Please help... I have a grandmother that has memory issues and she's computer illiterate. Her one love in life, entertainment wise, is TH-cam. She can't remember how to use her remote control to get access to it. I need someone to design a system that I can remotely access her smart TV so she can watch her TH-cam non-stop.

    There's an easier option and helpful option for a local only way without google. It's called Barrier but that is made for only PC to PC as far as I know. But I'm more looking for to access my other PC with an application to open as a window screen for me to use. Kinda like a VM but physically there.

    Is this good for gaming?
    And will it heat up the laptop?

    • @kylesinko
      @kylesinko  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the types of games. The better you internet connection on both devices, the smoother the gameplay. I wouldn't recommend it for competitive gaming. It won't heat up the laptop anymore than using other software

    • @kylesinko

      The speed would depend on your internet connection. I wouldn't recommend it for competitive gameplay but it would be perfect for more passive-style games.

    • @kylesinko
      @kylesinko  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct. Your laptop is acting as a monitor for your PC, hence using the PC's hardware instead of the laptops. The best way to see it is that the laptop is a screen to control the PC

      It will work by following the process in the video. If you can't get someone to access the laptop to install the software it will be difficult unless you've already set up some way of waking the laptop and accessing it

    why not use the built in remote desktop app?

    • @kylesinko
      @kylesinko  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, it does not need to only be influenced by one idea. Your architecture projects will definitely involve a number of different inputs and influences, but having a driving theme or idea will give you clarity when working through the design.
