    It is clear an extremely gifted sheet metal worker is showing his skill and patience. Most of the patches looked handformed, rolled, or crimped. Very impressive.

    Excellent. My initial reaction on seeing the first couple of photos was "look for another car" You are very talented and obviously have a lot of experience.

    Great job on a huge project. I would have passed on that car but you've brought it back.
    I'm currently restoring a Brighton built car in Canada and have worked through the swiss cheese body but still have a ways to go

      Thanks IsettasRock. Good luck with your project, it will be worth it in the end 😂

    Doesn't really matter if there's nothing left and you have to rebuild the entire thing, as long as you have the title, you're in. I wouldn't be the slightest daunted restoring this car. Trouble is, here in Australia they're very thin on the ground and ridiculously expensive, even ones as bad as this one, even if you could find one. Hats off to you for doing a marvellous job...

    Great craftsmanship. Where did You get the spare metal sheet parts from? are the still for sale or did You have to hammer them yourself?

    • @karlhurn
      @karlhurn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 🙏 All the sheet metal was fabricated by hand. More sections are available from the various Isetta clubs these days though 👍

    A highly professional job made with lots of care and passion obviously. Would have loved to see the following stages of the mechanical restoration ending with turning the engine on and riding the isetta.
    I have almost completed the five-year-long restoration of BMW 600 (isetta limousine). Upholstery work is underway. A matter of a couple of weeks and it will be showing off on the roads.

      Hi, they are clamps for holding the panels in place while they are welded. www.machinemart.co.uk/p/040812300/?da=1&TC=GS-040812300&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8erXvfLp6AIVmpntCh2aVwtpEAQYAyABEgK8PPD_BwE

    Me and my mate restored a 1961 Right Hand Drive to show standard and it was as bad as this and in some areas worse. It had no floor at all. It took 3 years to find the parts for the flimsy indicator arm and 5 years to find the correct door handle. Sold it on eBay in 2018 and is now in Australia. In all honesty it was awful to drive. But boy did it get some reactions and crowds.
