I think the German design was absorb the engine vibration neither to say it was not a reliable design ,yours looks like the owner of the car will die without ever replacing that part ,good work bra, helping people save on money

I went back to rubber due to heat, metal one cause to much heat to the carburetor ending up revving higher and hard start when still hot

Best results with a solid base plate..
Ask your CNC guy to cut o-ring grooves on both faces, 2mm for the top and 5mm to the bottom, but fuel rated o-ring, the solid part benifit from obsorbing the vibration that shakes extra air into the fuel in the float tank on racing applications, that's what I heard, "ge-skut-de" petrol met extra air run mos lean? I also make these, but in aluminum, quicker to manufacture on cnc, and at R400, you pocket more profit or you can drop your price to your customers!

Hi i have an aluminium one on my golf, only really had to vang one tokkie and that was to put a lower profile bolt head on one side.. but other than that, its set and forget.. dont use sealant, i use gasket paper and a little grease.

The ruber 1 is made to brake every car has a part that is made 2 brake thats how they make money if that was made from metal from factry no1 wud would need to replace it hence they wont make money
They also always break that way...went through about 4 within 2 months

For all the locals in PE we sell these mounting brackets at EG Plastics. Its not a metal one instead a hard Nylon plastic injected bracket. Wont break like the one in the video with the rubber binding. @Sidehustlegarage come have a look if you in the area its in Sidwell, 12 Richard street

From my own experience the baseplate has lasted forever. First diagnosis this bush mechanic make is replace baseplate because he gets commission on spares purchased .WhenI refused and investigated the problem myself, I found that he had deliberately cut 1 of 3 thin wires of the small socket that goes into the distributor cap. He'd unseen deliberately give the cut a little twist that will undo itself after a short time because of vibrations. How's that for shit load of comments MF..er.
