Here is the fix.
This fix will work for RPCS3 on Steam Deck and PC.

Make Sure You EJECT(UNMOUNT) ISO File on Windows before running Patcher & 3K3Y.
The software you need for ISO format Games:
drive.google.c...
IRD Download website:
ps3.aldostools...
Note: After unzipping the patched ISO with 7-Zip
Make sure to remove the .dec from the folder name.

Note:
1.Please make sure you *EJECT/UNMOUNT ISO* file on Windows Before you run the patcher tool and ISO tool.
Otherwise, ISO tool will get error msg (Invalid ISO file. This file does not contain PIC/D1/D2 data)
2. If after using ISOTOOL you get an ISO file with .enc extension instead of .dec
this means your original ISO file has been decrypted. you can use 7zip to extract the original ISO file and put it into the ROM folder it will work with the emulator.
3. Very Important: Make sure IRD file is exact matched with your game version (TITLE ID)

What does that mean and where do I unmount iso in windows?
you can quickly unmount the file by right-clicking the virtual drive under This PC in File Explorer and selecting the Eject option. Open File Explorer. Expand This PC from the left navigation pane. Right-click the virtual drive and select the Eject

if you are facing error file decrypting just delete rpcs3 because the iso file is being used in it and it doesnt remove, this worked for me

Here is a tip if you used ImgBurn to get the iso from your ps3 games: rename the file type from ".ISO" to ".iso" This will get rid of the "wrong file type" error in 3k3y. The iso is not invalid or anything. Its just that 3k3y specifically checks the filetype and looks for a ".iso" without any capital letters. Found this tipp online and it worked for me.

I have a few PS3 titles from Vimm's that arent in .iso file, they have came zipped with the game files inside (no.iso), do I have to convert these to .iso somehow in order for them to work on Emulationstation via my Steamdeck? Thank you for the help in advance.
you should extract those zip file first then see if they are iso or not.

FYI: make sure the name for the ISO and IRD files match exactly when you patch or use 3k3y. It was giving me errors and once I did that it worked perfectly
thanks for the information. the main thing that needs to make sure that are matched is the game title ID. IRD & game should be exact same title ID.
What do you mean match exactly? Are you saying file renaming? Like the files need to be for example "halo.iso" and "halo.ird"?
@@SinisterSonance yes, first make sure you downloaded the right IRD, then I renamed it to match the ISO file. That fixed my issue.

I got invalid iso file error first while using IsoTools to decrypt the iso file. After trying a lot of things, I found I could not change the iso file name since it is used by an application (although I don't know what it is), then I knew I did not patch the iso file correctly. After I rebooted Windows, everything worked!

You say we can find the iso serial # in RPCS3 but don't show how to do it. So helpful. Edit: Since the Author of the video doesn't want to include all the info needed, to get the IRD # for the game you want, extract the contents of the ISO into RPSC3 games folder, then hit refresh in RPSC3, and delete the extracted iso files after you get the S/N.
thanks for this information. I forgot to record that process in the video. You need to find the Game Title ID first then use the Title ID to look for the correct IRD file. To find the title ID, extract the original ISO then copy the folder into your SD card PS3 rom folder, next open RPCS3 from the desktop mode you will see the Title ID on the game list. Then use the title id to download the correct version IRD file.

Thank you so much for uploading this video! Been trying so many times with other kind of ways but it didn't work, until I saw this video. I don't have any of that handheld portable gaming devices, but the tutorial works in PC too!
P/S: If you're trying to play on PC as well, know that it still didn't work even if you followed the whole processes, but the last part of this video is for the handheld device. After decrypted the iso and followed the whole process, go to RPCS3, then go to "File" at the top right, and then "Add Games". Then go to your game folders and select it. Boom, you should have it in RPCS3, then you can click play or "Restart".

try this- go to your rpcs3 on desktop mode- go settings- under advanced- increase driver wake-up delay to 200us.
also apply apply game patches from RPCS3- select the game then hold on it and select manage game patches.
some game just cant run well.
@ED4T thank you AGAIN for so much help, but I found a different solution. If you right-click on a game and go into custom gamepad config, changing it from "keyboard" to "EvDev" will make the keys responsive. It seems that it wasn't freezing, the keys just weren't responding. Thanks again for all you do!!

@@ED4T Yeah I unmounted the iso before continuing to use patcher. The error said that booting failed, reason: Invalid file or folder. I'll try it once more through the other video you linked, thank you so much for all the help!

I've heard converting the folder to an iso give's better results, and some games will only run if they're in iso format like mass effect. Have you noticed a difference between running in JB folders or dec.iso?
I don’t think rpcs3 can run iso file directly.
Ah, I wan't trying to run iso's on it. I have a fat ps3, and I finally got my ISO's to run on it. The hardest part was learning how to decrypt them together with the ird keys. Though I think my system is dying after 15 years, it runs normally at 67C xD@@ED4T

i dont think so. you need windows to run the softwares.

Hi I am not getting dec file doing iso crypto process. Instead I am getting .enc file now? How to solve this? Game is not working anymore.
if. you got enc. that mean your originally file has been decrypted so just unzip your original file and put the folder into the rom folder.
Out of curiosity, is it really necessary to use 7-zip to extract the decrypted iso? I did still use 7-zip just to try and make sure everything worked, but was just curious if you could achieve the same result with WinRAR.
Also, I never removed the ".dec" from the file name like the pinned comment suggests because OP didn't do it in the video, and everything still worked fine. So not sure if it that's really necessary, or if I just got lucky.
Thanks for the comment. Yes it’s better to use 7zip instead of Winrar. For the Dec. I think it might need to be removed for certain games. I have no issue with the Dec. Someone under the comments does said his game is not running if Dec. exist on the folder. So it doesn’t hurt to remove the DEC.

Yes you can remove dec. from the folder name. It doesn’t hurt at all. I know it looks ugly on steam library.

I downloaded a skate 3 game but the second software stated that it was NOT a ps3 drive. may I ask, where did you get your version of the skate 3 game?

@@ED4T Since you are here i'll ask. I'm having trouble with God of War Collections, it starts but crashes before it even reaches the Main Menu and just closes the game. I did these steps and i even changed the folder name to end with .ps3. But nothing has fixed it. Any idea what it may be?? Thank you

Does this happen in batocera too. I have this error when trying to launch from batocera menu but it launches fine from the emulator itself

Hello. I am missing something. I followed your original set up and got to the BOOTING FAILED screen in Emudeck. So I deleted the file in the ROM folder as you suggested in this video. Now, back on the PC screen your tutorial wants me to re patch the ISO....BUT I dont have the ISO...I have the 2 folders and Word file generated in your original tutorial . Yes you need use 7zip to extract the file.
I don't think Vimm's 7z files for PS3 games extract to a single ISO file. They extract to various files and folders.
I downloaded a game and extracted it, no any .iso file, just a folder named as "ABCD12345", how to identify if it's been patched or not?
That should be a PSN format file. You can just copy that game folder into your steam deck sd card. There is no need to unpatch it.

How do you get the game to work if the rom you downloaded is not an iso or pkg. Some roms I have just have a "PS3_Game" folder with all the files in it and "PS3_Disc.SFB"
Just copy the game folder into rom folder. I showed that too. It’s PSN type games.

Some games just cannot be emulated. What’s the name of the game you have the issue ? If you have got into loading modules that means you have set everything correctly.

I did everything correct as u did and everything worked the same but after extracting decrypted iso i run retrobat and the game doesn't pop up in the list... any idea y?
I figured it out if anyone else has this issue just rename the folder for example I have having issues with those PS3 game he shows how to fix in video but never showed up in retrobat I had to rename the game folder I was having issues with and add .PS3 to the end and then when I open retrobat they show and can scrap for artwork...

Have you try to mount the iso file in windows ? If it mounts that means it’s iso file. Also make sure you eject/unmount the iso file before you use the patcher and isotool.
Mine said enc. After running it through the crypto?
That means your iso has been decrypted before so you don’t need to crypto it just extract the original iso and put the extracted folder into rom folder. That’s all.
@@ED4T Is that after connecting the ird to it? Haven't checked it after I ran it through the ird thing but it hasn't popped up at all on the emulator yet
I was able to decrypt the iso file of Tekken Tag 2 (Europe) and was able to play the game, however it wasn't added to the game list. Need help.

About how long do it take for the iso crypto take per game! Mines pause for a awhile
it could take up to 25 mins if your game is over 30 GB.
