Price. Cartier were relatively affordable. Now they priced themselves against the likes of Rolex and Omega. They should decrease the price of the ones with quartz movements to make them more affordable like it was back in the days
Cartier: alot of ladies' watches are gifted. Unless it's vintage or unique, it's hard to gift a pre-owned (used) product to show how much she means to you. "I love you enough to give you sloppy seconds." Doesn't make financial sense. it's more emotional than logical.
I bought my wife a Cartier Panthere just like the one you showed in the video. She absolutely loves it. Buying your wife a nice watch is a great way to share a hobby together.

@@Weedandwatches True, show most women a new watch priced at for example 10k they want it, show her the same watch at 4k, used but in as new condition they put their nose up. Women don't really have the same attitude towards money as men, as they so often get money for free so to speak as they get these things gifted. Very few women would sit evening after evening googling watches out of interest, as many men would do.
@@Weedandwatches Well I was not talking about your wide specifically but women in general. And women in general as not like lots of men is with a general interest in watches from a mechanical point of view, but see them as something more than just a shiny object bought new in a shop. So your wife don’t like to buy second hand because they are scratched? Well when stephe buy a new watch from a shop and wear it it will have scratches on pretty soon, so she will have to buy a new watch every month or so to keep up appearances. Personally I don’t see the point at all as I buy the watch second hand, it might have some small hairline scratches but not worse than I would make myself. I think about the resale value, something very few women actually think about. That’s one of the reasons why men are generally richer than women, because men (generally) look at this before you buy something, and compare with what the resale value will be in 5-10 years, if you do that second hand will win nearly every time, well unless you can get hold of a Rolex or similar for retail prices.
Manufacturers are chasing sales, so they chase whatever is trending, and for a while they were bronzing everything, to see what people might buy. Bronze gets a bad rap in part because the patina can look dreadful. I've owned the Tudor BB Bronze Boutique Edition for several years and it looks clean and killer. Why? Because I take time to polish it with a jeweler's cloth and do an occasional effervescent dental tab bath. The result is no patina. The watch resembles a soft rose gold. I love it. One of the best values around.
Sigh. Bronze can leave a patina because of skin moisture and/or acids reacting to the copper alloy in bronze. Same as any copper or bronze jewelry. It's harmless unless you're inhaling its dust. Tudor uses a non-bronze alloy under the case where it touches the wrist. Instead of copper and tin as a traditional bronze alloy, Tudor replaces tin with aluminum and this alloy is typically used by the marine and aviation industries because of its corrosion resistance. No patina on skin. It's not difficult to get facts straight. @@albertmeyer8983

How's the diet going
Frederico, I love your show. But….Cartier has some amazing pieces. I wonder if you have the appropriate inventory. The Cartier sales speak for themselves.
Because if you’re spending that much on a watch, it must be perfect. And rose gold, is unacceptable. Cartier….stock more yellow gold options.
I love Cartier. But they are over priced. I can get a JLC reverso for the same price as a Cartier Santos. And the reverso is a much more complicated piece with a solid heritage and great name recognition. And why is a stainless Ballon Bleu 9 grand? I payed less for a new Navitimer with the B01 movement under the hood. So to some up. Cartier. Great watches. Too expensive.
@@Bu-22 Don’t ask this question in real life. For your own sake, keep your ignorance online.
@@Th3MostWond3rfulTim3OfTh3Y3ar You can't ask that question because there is no real answer. Cartier watches are some of the worst value propositions out there. Mostly dated gaudy 1970's designs and mediocre movements. They are 'classy' watches for people who have no class basically.
He talks about Cartier from 6:00.
The santos is stunning
Plus you'd be going up against the consigners like RealReal to sell Cartier. No need to compete in that minefield.
I think Cartier men’s watches are one of those brands you are supposed to like, because of legacy and whatnot, but the actual watch isn’t that appealing to many’s tastes, mine included.
All ladies: you better recacle
Most ladies: " recacled watch? Hmm, nah!"😂
Cartier Lady's watches are probably overly prone to be gifts bought for someone else, are engraved and never really go out of style. Most of them don't hit the secondary market also women don't buy used jewelry because those purchases are mostly emotionally motivated anyway
I would like to own a Santos.
Cartier is #2 among Swiss watches, not globally. Gotta think that Apple, Seiko and Citizen outsell Swiss watches.
economics=matching supply and demand EXACTLY, maybe cartier wants to remain niche AND be possessed by ONLY their target audience
I feel like Cartier isn't a real watch brand .. it's a fashion brand and their watches are made from cheap movements. The only 2 reasons why it's expensive is the brand name and the materials they put on the case (gold, diamons, etc..)
Their quartz watches are essentially luxury Casios.
I think the Tag Heuer Autavia looks much better in bronze than stainless steel. I have one with the brown dial and love it. I'd be tempted to check out the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date in all bronze, including bracelet. Might turn my whole arm green. But that's about it.
Except for some versions of the Santos, I think Cartier is a tough sell for men's watches. And it wouldn't be at the top of my list to consider for the price. Met a guy wearing a Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch once. It was a nice watch, and I admire the choice as being unique, but that look wouldn't work for me.
My late mother would never bought used items. ❤
If I dropped watches as often as Del Ray, I would see my doctor
I don't get it.
@@magnasquids7864 I'm suggesting that I drop watches out of my bottom.
I’m digging your glasses 🤓.
