I think CW may still make a regular production red dial, but with white chime indicator instead of lime and a different shade of red.

The mix of polished and raw jagged unpolished edges is a little jarring on the macro view.

Patrick- listen to the reviews on all the websites, you need to bring back the blue dial. I really want one but don't like any of the current color options. Hope to be a Bel Canto owner one day, maybe?
@@str8shooter160 It was a limited edition. You can't bring back an LE without violating the trust of the people who bought it ... and never credibly being able to offer an LE ever again. (I would also 100% buy one, though if they did it.)

You're still the master, Andrew. My Bel Canto arrived last month after waiting 13 months, which included a five month delay due to the manufacturing issues that you mentioned. I went for the Noir edition because I thought it would best offset the mechanical components on the dial side. It is an absolute stunner. The proportions and placement of the components are immaculate, and the "ding" is a beautifully clear D note. Although I was skeptical of the bracelet, I got it because I almost always go with the bracelet option. After getting the watch and trying it on a strap, I now think that the bracelet is a better choice because of the girth of the watch. in any event, it now is an instant heirloom.

I finally got the Antarctique S Salmon dial after 2+ years of waiting. Well worth the wait, I’m beyond impressed by the aesthetics and attention to detail. I hope you continue to get access to new timepieces without buying them yourself. Been watching since you started this channel and it’s great to see an influx of new fans.

I am in the order que for a Noir Bel Canto. I ordered it for many reasons, not the least of which was to support out of the ordinary innovative affordable watchmaking at a high degree of technological expertise. I never even thought of acquiring a CW watch before until the Bel Canto came around. I have on a Habring2 Felix so I am a believer in the idea that relatively affordable horology can still be noteworthy horology. There is a wealth of in-house expertise at CW in the form of Frank Stelzer, CW’s technical director, and Mssrs. Bader and Brackfield. CW did not hesitate to seek parts and engineering input when required from “big gun” external sources like Synergies Horologeres when required. There is a great market for affordable specialty horology as evidenced by the success of the Bel Canto.
Andrew is back. Back to the original macros and magnificent descriptions of the marvels of this hobby. Thank you.

I thought I was the only person in the world who hated the current color choices for the Bel Canto! At least I know there are 2 of us at least!
Nope, at least 3.
The special edition has colors I like more but I have no interest to pay over twice the price to some dude on chrono for a dial I do like on a watch I like but now suddenly is twice as expensive.
I like the Bel canto and shall wait until it appears in another dial color.
Or until people calm down over limited pieces. So that one isn't happening.

Congratulations on the watch, Mr. Morgan. When I watched this video, however, my only thought was sarcastically "So this is the reason why my Bel Canto order kept getting delayed!" but I think as one of the people who championed the watch when it came out, you truly deserve it. You're also the reason why I went ahead and ordered it in the first place! *sigh* June 2024 can't come soon enough...

I LOVE the color! A few years ago, I decided to only purchase red dial watches. Red is my favorite color, but I really don't look good in red. So, a red dial watch is the perfect amount of color in my everyday black attire. Congrats on choosing the best dial color in the Bel Canto collection!
Same story but I'm only buying blue watches and I look great in every colour. 😂 But seriously I thought it's only my kink.
Just bought my first red dial: GS SBGJ273 for my 60th birthday in the year of the dragon and to celebrate 'kanreki' Japanese style. It's amazing and I'm hooked on red now!

Another AMW gem; you and Britt Pearce (aka the Kirkland Jennie Elle) are the only two watch tubers who regularly make me laugh out loud. As an aficionado of vintage sports watches, my initial reaction to the Bel Canto when it first appeared was that it seemed a bit too deliberately precious ....but saw one in person at Windup in NYC last year and, well, I was wrong. It is indeed a stunning budget gem fit for, say, a proper watch geezer with a discerning eye both on the aesthetics and his bottom line -- and who remains, it seems, thankfully untraumatized by being judged unremarkable through years of UK public schooling. Well done on both counts, Andrew!

Congrats man. I know you've really wanted a Bel Canto for a while now. Honestly "I just got a grail watch and now I'm giddy" is one of my favorite video formats. And a one of one Bel Canto sounds like its at least near to grail level for you.

I own three Christopher ward Watches and they are all fantastic however when I visited C W to buy and pickup my latest purchase I experienced the Belcanto it was amazing, but fantastic as it was I could never have seen myself actually wearing it, for myself I had to really dig deep to control myself for no other reason, great watch great British company

What I am looking for is a fully waterproof watch that has to be mech wind up, extremely readable, dances well with a metal strap, and has very good shock resistance. I'm very hard on watches and every mech watch I ever owned failed. This will be a one-and-done watch. I look forward to your recommendations as well as your audience. Forgot to mention it cant be that expensive... Thank you

Andrew, thank you for this vid and especially describing and showing how the chime works. I like the design of the watch a lot - it is modern and yet timeless with it´s reduced design. True, a bit MB&F, but with its own design and far away from the LM101. The red is absolutely ok, but I am glad they have a black one. And btw. I absolutely agree: A bloke´s name on the dial isn´t cool. 😁

Really enjoyed the video, great stuff! If I wake one day to find Ive already acquired the other watches I fancy, and notice a spare 3 large in my bank account I’d order one for sure. For now though a Twelve is higher up my list. Interestingly, I’ve just seen a c ward advert featuring some sumptuous macro of a blue dial Twelve on sky sports main event! Great to see their profile going up, hope they can keep up with demand!

Great review! I ordered one a year ago and excited to receive it in my collection this June. Great timepiece for the price. Any recommendations for skeleton watches without a chume for an enthusiast collector? I have been looking at Cartitier Santos and Armin Strom but getting lost in the weeds and where else to look without breaking the bank.
