a winter morning cosied up in a warm blanket playing fable is a memory i can't forget even if i tried, hee's hoping fable 4 recaptures my absolute obsession for fable
This song is so iconic, I haven't heard it for years until last Friday, my DM turned it on for D&D and I immediately looked at him and said "Is this Fable"
When I was DMing a campaign a couple of years back, I would use songs from the very first Fable soundtrack. I scared the hell out of my players with the Lychfield Graveyard score.
"Deep in the Forest of Albion, lay the small town of Oakvale. Unchanged by time, and untouched by the sword. Here lived a boy and his family, a boy one day dreaming of greatness of one day being a Hero. Some nights he dreamt of being a noble knight, or a powerful wizard, and other nights he'd dreamt he was an evil warrior. But of all his dreams of greatness, he couldn't possibly imagine the power of the Destiny that lay before him."
No reason to give up that hope :) Life is hard. In Fable you don't stay a child forever, you grow up, and life gets dark and difficult, but it makes you stronger and the contrast makes you appreciate all the beautiful moments so much more. You're alive and breathing and strong and you can do anything you put your mind to. And light always conquers dark - it's the tale of almost every story for a reason.
Giden Ultimus *spoiler* when jack makes fun of the guild master and says that if you kill him xDD "you're health is getting low hero, do you have any potions or food *sadistic laughter*" xDD fucken jack
logan mcivor That got me every time, and especially when the guildmaster continued to warn you that "your health is low" while he was dead during the Jack of Blades fight (in the original, think it was patched later). How?!

Wow! It's been ages since I heard this song. I actually miss playing Fable. Fable and Halo were my two favorite games to play on the Xbox, back in the early 2000s (before marriage and kids).
This song reminds me of how excited I first was for Fable, and how much I loved it when I finally played it. I still do love it so much. Its music and gameplay are some of my most loved and most nostalgic of any game, by far. Happy 19th to the GOAT. Thank you so much, Lionhead, for the memories. And thank you especially, Russel Shaw.
We think of the child, torn from his family, taken from his home, lands destroyed - only given the choices he has in front of him. Who can he trust? He looks at his reflection, who has he become? Nostalgia, this game. Love the series.
Hello, lad! I'm a trader. I wander the world buying and selling wares, especially to fine folk like your good self. Some little girl I saw said you have a sister and it's her birthday. And it seems you haven't got her a present yet! It just so happens that I have a rather nice box of sweets here, guaranteed to put a smile on any sister's face, for only three gold pieces!
this tune brings back a lot of different memories for me. Not just the Fable series, but other, different media, like the Dreamstone. It's an utterly beautiful piece
I might be a weirdo for making this correlation but… hearing this song, specifically the first minute or so, makes me think of coming home from work to my kids. Exhausted and downtrodden. Walking up the sidewalk and seeing them, 3 and 4 years old running around in the tiny front yard. Greeting with hugs and walking into our measly house, asking how their day was, wife watching from the doorframe in silent contentment. Listening to them sing and laugh as I make a dinner of rice, frozen peas, and whatever small amount of meat I can afford. We are poor and have very few luxuries but their unaware childhood bliss provides happiness far beyond whatever wealth could bring. I always loved this piece, even as a kid, 9 or 10, playing Fable when my cousin brought his Xbox over. I just rediscovered it a few days ago after finding an old xbox in a thrift store and ordering a copy of Fable from eBay. Thanks for stopping and reading this. Idk. It somehow makes me feel a little better about things.
Fable is such a good series. I'm happy I didn't experience the overhypeness it apparently had, so I could genuinely enjoy it! I adore this theme the most, such a magical air to it!
Fable’s trademark got renewed, with intent to use. Microsoft, please make Fable IV, and set it back in medieval times. Please just deliver us another one like the first, with its unique charm, mystical wonder and all. I want to relive my childhood again. Edit: Hey, looks like they listened, maybe!

It really is sad Playing Fable 1 and seeing how happy the people of Oakvale only for it too be destroyed one final time. The way they did the music for Wraithmarsh is amazing. anytime i hear this theme i remember the days of my childhood running around the woods with my sister and brother at my grandmothers house always creating new adventures *sigh* sadly she passed on and they sold the house now. atleast i still have the memories
The fucking. Nostalgia. dude. I remember playing this game on my brothers original Xbox back in the Early 2000s, the charm and wonder of Albion is perfectly encapsulated in this song. Too bad the reboot is probably gonna be a flop..
Super nostalgic with that one ! Maybe because I have strong connection with that games and reminds me of my childhood.Thank you for this music whoevere make this. :)
