  • Save money and replace your wiper blades with wiper blade refills. This vehicle is a Toyota Tacoma and it is cheaper to replace just the rubber portion of the wiper blade. They are commonly called wiper blade inserts, wiper blade refills, and wiper blade rubber. I purchased mine from Toyota, but you can also find them on Amazon. If you are buying from Amazon please measure.

    Thank you for the clear instructions. In fact, the Nissan Note uses similar wind shield wipers. Same procedures for replacing the Nissan Note wind shield rubber blades.

    I know this video is old but just wanted to let you know that it was very helpful to me. Took me all of 5 minutes to change both wipers on my Tacoma. Love the fact that the arms remain and use oem parts. Appreciate it.

      Thank you for the great comment, and you know I'm all about using OEM parts when I can. Most people don't realize when you buy just the rubber from Toyota its actually cheaper than aftermarket blades, and replacing just the rubber work better than most aftermarket blades. Why more people don't do this I'm not sure. Glad you got it all done !!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I still have my original wiper blades that came with my Tacoma and that accepts the inserts. If you already threw them away and replaced them for disposable ones. You will need to re purchase the OEP blades for you vehicle. That's usually $40+ a pair.

      Thanks for the great comment, and the best thing is to reuse those factory blades with new inserts, its the cheapest, and the best way as I find its much better than aftermarket blades :) Thanks :)

      Yup its pretty much the same, and its way better to do as the genuine Toyota refills are cheaper than the whole wiper at Canadian Tire or something, plus I find the quality is much better :)

    The car firms and wiper blade firms somehow decided we are stupid enough to not know this while also ripping us off selling us 25.00 $32.00 and even higher wiper "blades" and adding to their profit but adding to the metal waste that goes into landfills. Anyone who is 50 years old or older remembers this was the only way to get new wipers. The metal blade part hardly ever breaks or wears out.
    And stores like Autozone.and Napa don't stock just the refills. Less profit. With oil selling for $11.00 a quart now they know enough people.just hand over big profits to them.

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love your comment and you are so right !!! The refills are the only way I go. Save waste and the OEM rubber quality is really good. Most of the time a simple refill works better than the aftermarket replacements. Thanks for the comment and hope you are enjoying your day :)

    STRONGLY suggest a heavy towel is put under the blade on the windshield BEFORE beginning. Drop the wiper arm W/O the blade on the windshield and u will buy a new windshield! Experience speaking!!

      Not quite sure, the best thing to do is go to the dealer, they will have them for you and they are cheaper than full replacement blades. My Tacoma is a 2016 so its a different generation of truck and not sure if the size is the same.
