@@natedog805402 I have a 2015 with 63k. I’d highly recommend changing every fluid since yours is considered high mileage already, especially the rear differential fluid. That stuff is gnarly

Should specify that the 15+ WRX has a chain, not a belt. While Subaru says that it never needs to be replaced, it's safe to say it should be done every 100k.
@Google User OEMs rarely recommend to change them, but when they go bad it's worse than a belt failure. They also still have the same tensioners and idlers that need to be replaced too.

I'm looking everywhere for a car guy maintenance schedule and everyone is just reading from the booklet. It's 100 percent not right saying change oil at 6k. I wonder what else it's wrong about
My old Volvo is still rollin tough at 330,000 miles... oil changed at 3500 miles. Car manufacturers are recommending longer intervals because its better for the environment, definitely not better for your car.
The scheduled maintance is a reference, not necessary a must.(unless you're under warranty, that becomes a requirement) Do regulaar inspections. if it's good, leave it alone. if it's bad, fix it right away. it's like grocery, do you drink spoiled milk even it wasn't expired from that printed date? John Melgar just splice into the existing blinker in the headlight. That’s what I did. Get a test light to see where and what lines need power to make them sequential and what line has power to the existing blinker. Tape up. I haven’t had any issues so far thank god
Last week I changed my oil used a different weight/Type I checked the oil it doesn’t look milky or nothing but I’m spilling coolant everywhere I don’t know where to start
I have a question (not related to this video). What does the white WRX have on the liscense plate is it just LED bulbs? Or is it the housing?? I have LED but it does not look anything close to the one there!!!
I'd say that it really depends on where you live. If I were driving in L.A. I'd change it more often. Out in the sticks where I live, it usually stays clean for the whole duration.(besides leaves and silly junk like that) The fires in northern california impacted the rotation as well. I've pulled out a few pitch black filters from the heavy smoke.
Recently took my my sti to dealer for oil change at 5,600 mile interval... dealer told me i was very low on oil but also that much oil consumption is normal. What kind of oil consumption have you guys seen in your experience??
I notice that if I drive normal and never redline my oil level stays consistent, but if I go snowboarding or any mountain driving the oil does get consumed. I also have lag AOS
Stop commenting if you don't know what you're talking about dude. Oil consumption on a higher mileage car? Completely normal. Oil consumption on a turbo car where the engine oil is pumped thru the turbo? Completely normal. I had 160K miles on fa20 n it usually burned around 1/4 quart every 2-3K miles
I brought my 21 sti in for an oil change and noticed the dealer charged me for 6 quarts, he told me the 21 sti takes 5.2 quarts. I can’t find the oil capacity anywhere for the 21 as I was told this year takes a bit more oil. I’m thinking he is full of it. Anyone confirm? Thought they took 4.5 quarts.
That dealer is full of BS, 21 STi use the same motor. cdn.subarunet.com/stis/doc/ownerManual/MSA5M2105A_STIS-Opt.pdf last page of this manual 4.5Qt for STi and 5.4Qt for WRX. Print it out and slam it on the desk and ask them for your money back and get those extra oil out of the engine.
People preach about necessary maintenance, all I ever see is a lack of spending any money on their ride and owners seem to wring every penny out of their vehicle and then dump it when it breaks down. Anytime I get a used car, its neglected so badly it needs to go to the junkyard!
Really curious why you don't recommend following the severe service schedule..... of 15k on the differentials / etc. I'm also curious what the hell kind of technology lets a coolant last 130k miles. Wouldn't you want to change it at 75k just to be safe?
LMAO, if anyone waits for those miles to change anything said in this video, no wonder you guys have problems with your Subarus. I'm an STI 2006 owner and my maintenance schedule is: Oil - 2700km Spark plugs - 7k km Coolant - every year Trans and diff - every 15k km
95k miles on my '15 wrx and the oil still looks clean at every change. Keep up with the maintenance! :)
How's it doin i just bought a 15 with 80k on it

pdf a owners manual on your pc
These videos really come in clutch for my subie thanks
Facts! I am definitely going to change my Spark Plugs every 6K miles lol. Well I actually do it all the time lol
If you want your motor to last then change your oil every 3k
Big fax!
This is true . I have a 2003 350z supercharged and 2004 acura tl with 260k miles on them and running strong . Oil change every 3k
Was going to say that every 3k

Unfortunately, we don't have an 18 STI for me to make a video on so if you need assistance please email sales@subispeed.com
I'm sure u guys can find a local donor willing to buy and have u guys install the bezel
I’ve emailed my concerns but never really get a clear answer. It’d be a lot easier to see it visually in a vid or even photos 😩

Can you please do a video between the different j pipes, catless or catted and if you were to get one which is best for you
Great info
Also curious why you didn't recommend brake fluid.
What about the clutch? When should it be inspected and or replaced?
60k

I personally wouldn't go 30K miles before replacing the intake air filter.

subaru [RATED] I’m at 12,000 miles and already changed mine. $20 part, doesn’t hurt to change it even if it doesn’t need it
Yeah I change mine once a year...which is usually around 10-15K miles.
Change my air filter when I change the oil and clean the MAF done every 3k miles
@@sickbird9865 overkill. Air filters can go much longer without replacing.
What about clutch fluid, PS fluid and walnut blasting?
Its an STI. No need for walnut blasting
Great job as usual! FA20T is a chain however.....send me some swag!!
Is it necessary to change the spark plugs every 6k miles? I just got a 17 wrx at 50k
He said 60k miles
What maintenance should we do if you get an used car ? Ex. 15’ Wrx with 90k miles
check the oils/brake fluid. check your brake pads. honestly i would do everything just do be safe lol
The Subaru manual said spark plugs need to be changed every 5years. While NGK said the SILFR6A can be used for 100kmiles. Who's telling the truth?

check your oil before you take any road trips above 100 miles. also check it at around 1.5-2k just to be safe your not low

If my car didn’t come with fog lamps, where can I get some ?
96k miles on timing belt?
Please do wrx! Unless it's the same...
It should be the same
Besides timing belt, wrxs have chains, no need to replace for the most part
You'll know it's time to replace the chains when your engine blows! lol

Isn't it 6k and 6 months for the oil change?
