  • It is time, after curing in the little greenhouse for a couple or three weeks, to string the Senshyu Yellow onions for storage. It is quite a simple technique and those of you who watch carefully will notice a lack of consistency in how I tie the onions to the string.
As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t really matter how they are tied to the string, so long as they are held in place. Plus, I’ve not really got enough patience to do this repetitive task for too long, it just has to be done as quickly as possible, before I get to play in the garden again.
I also did a video on stringing onions last season, where you may find the technique I employ clearer to follow:

I'm so happy that you decided to do this video Tone, because I've never seen this technique done before 😃What an excellent idea my friend. I'll be planting some onions next year and will give this a try. I think I have the pattern down, maybe except for the under bit, lol (I couldn't quite see that part). I will rewatch again to see it again 🥰

Thank you for your kind words. I'm by no means an expert at this technique. I did another video on this last season, which may show what I did a little more clearly, if not there are plenty of really good videos on TH-cam by far more dextrous gardeners:

@@TonesGardeningVlogs Thanks for sharing the link to the other video. I will check it out. It doesn't really matter to me about other dextrous gardeners because your the 1st one that shared this technique with me. I sure hope you don't mind, but I shared your video on my community page because not everyone knows this information 🥰
