Crazy that 48,000 is supposed to be affordable when average American income is 45,000. It's crazy they can't make new cars affordable. Most families can't afford 700 month car payment. Crazy.
Just bought this exact model and year just 72 hours ago........ 3.7 miles on it brand new....... drove 400miles day 1 with my two year old... GREAT vehicle completely planted, very happy with this purchase
just bought the wife a Velvet Red 2023 Jeep GC Altitude. Came in just under 50K which I thought was a bargain for all the standard equipment. Looked at other makes including Telluride which was nice but just cannot bring myself to buy a KIA. Telluride also starting to look a bit dated on the exterior styling after 2 plus years on the market. Jeep more rugged looking which I like.
@@BoJackHorseman_eatshay LOL. KIA just had a huge recall due to the risk of tranny rollaways. KIA also has huge theft issues because the shift columns are not secure and they are easy to hotwire.Junk vehicles for sure.

They’re just terrrrrrible
@@BoJackHorseman_eatshay how does being a pilot qualify you as an automotive expert. No one gives to $hits about that. I was just stating my real life experience with 40 years of buying Mopar products. And, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. LOL
I agree. I was able to get one with the low range transfer case - rare. Quadratrac II. Rides great and 26 mpg on highway trips. V6 is plenty powerful. If you order one - get tow package for the hitch - bike racks etc. If you need a roof rack get the Limited trim - Altitude has a poor roof rack - really just plastic strips.
It’s nice but the Limited Blackout package allows you to spec a lot more desirable features (pano sunroof, upgraded stereo, ventilated seats, larger screen, etc). $57k fully loaded for that, seems worth the extra money over this IMO
We have a 2021 GCL Altitude, those amber turn signal lights in the front are NOT DRL's, the DRL's in auto mode are just the LED headlights alone. I wish Jeep would have made those amber lights the DRL's!!! I believe on the Limited and above models those amber lights are white DRL's.
I just bought the 23 Limited 4x4 blacked out with passenger monitor and rear monitors for $58,500 out the door. The payments would have been $1245 a month if I didn't pay cash. Crazy. The limited is the best value and the summit is a waste of money.
I paid $30k for my 2008 grand Cherokee laredo…still running with 260k miles. It’s starting to consume 1 qt of oil per 1000 miles. Soon I’ll have to upgrade so this one seems like a good contender. Sadly money has lost value…so I’ll have to pay more than 50% more to obtain more or less the same product/vehicle. The government/Fed keep printing money like crazy so this is the consequences…
What you don’t understand is that $30k in 2008 is equivalent to $43k in today’s money when you account for the 46% rise in interest over those 16 years. Thats 2.87% per year.
I wonder how Refined these feel. This has the 3rd generation Pentastar and the ZF 8 speed of course, so that's a really good price for that Combination. Especially considering where things are going to where everything is always going to be the new tech etc. the next few years from all the Makers, with steeper prices.
They all drive really well and feel very refined, even the base models. But then the higher trims with the V8 and air suspension are even better in that regard, but the base models are shocking to me with how comfortable, smooth, and quiet they are; even at highway speeds. I wish Jeep would offer the V8 and 2-speed transfer cases on the lower trims instead of the Overland and up. They used to offer them on all trims, which allowed people to get good 4WD systems and the about tow a travel trailer under $40K. They were the only SUVs that were under $40K and not full-size that could tow and go off road. Now you have to spend $70K to get the same 4WD/towing capacity, which is about the same price as a full size Tahoe, Expedition, Wagoneer with the same towing capacity and similar 4wD systems, making them less appealing. What does make them appealing is how refined and comfort they are to drive. They feel like $100K-$130K Land Rovers, but for tends of thousands less, especially the Summit Reserve trim package. Currently the V8 is only available on the Overland and up trims on the 3-row variant. Not available at all on the 2-row, and they took away the off-road equipment group from the non-hybrid models. Stellantis frustrates me with their packaging, and what they allow customers to get. 4WD and general utility features (like high towing capacity) used to be the heart of Jeep, so I think they should offer their best utility features on all models. They’re supposed to be sport utility* vehicles first and foremost first, luxury cars second. Now it’s luxury first, utility second. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Plenty of people would like a base model purely for its towing and 4WD capability, and don’t care about all the super high tech features. The Laredo comes equipped with so many features that not long ago were only on luxury cars. That is plenty for the average person. Why not offer some actual Jeep-level utility features instead? A utility package. They offer a 4WD/towing package in the base model Wagoneer, but that’s $70K. Grand Cherokee L models at that price range have more luxury features and a much nicer interior than the base model Wagoneer. Air suspension. Palermo leather. Leather dashboard and leather-wrapped interior trim. Wood grain. Metal accents. French stitching. A laundry list of advanced tech, like night vision, hands-free driving assist, seat massagers, intercom, a/c cooled seating first and 2nd row, thigh support extenders, far more features for the same price.
Hi I just got this car today brand new, it’s the exact same package. I got it because of the size but it happened to be a 4x4, I know 4x4 cars have buttons such as 4 hi or 4 lo that you can use but not this specific vehicle, why is that???
Does the GC Altitude have or offer Homelink for garage doors? I see that it's included in the Laredo trim when I build it with the Lux Tech Package but don't see mention of it when building a GC Altitude 4x4. I prefer a lot of items on the Altitude but would like Homelink functionality.
I have a rental because my Lexus got banged into by some old timer. Man this thing is sloppy, slow, and loud cabin road noise, it does have comfortable seats. I have a 2019 4Runner as well and it it's mind blowing how much better the 4Runner is.
Mmm, not the interior though. 4 Runner interior looks like a 90's flashback, the quality of materials is quite a bit lower in Toyotas in general (Lexus is much better). Maybe you got the previous gen GC. I had a Tacoma and it was much, much worse than my current Gladiator. In every way.
I took test drive many times to convince myself. Looks great inside out. The drive is not enjoyable and fuel economy is terrible, nowhere close to what company claims
