A small castle build, we have attempted much larger more traditional castles but we tend to have issues with FPS, this build is a nice compromise if you are looking for something more "castle like" for Valheim!

Love the castle, and thank you so much for sharing. Might I make a request? Would it be possible for you to list the land size required for your builds in the future? I want to build this, and I'm clearing land. I'm just not sure how much to clear. I'll have to watch the entire video and count the blocks.

This is a beautiful, open build, which is nice for those of us that don't like to be in 'smaller' spaces in a game. Only down side to the build is the amount of upkeep after it rains. That is A LOT of exposed wood. Another stunning piece regardless.
Would live to see a way to treat wood with resin in the update to keep it from being damaged by rain
Ye can just use "get of my lawn" mod, and it wont decay

For anyone having a hard time with the top of the tower, place iron beams around the tower in the stone. More expensive but it works.

Oh my, the storage. Fantastic build.
For those who are worried about things degrading in the rain, you could always snap a bunch of top roof pieces underneath the floor boards. Then you could add another row of just wood floor to cover it up. Sometimes I build roof pieces under my exposed stairs to help keep stuff underneath dry.

Hey great building!!! So I have been trying to rebuild the castle but the high stone building seem to keep breaking and cannot go any higher like in the video. May I ask why that is, thanks!

If no mods were used how the hell did you get the walls to not break that high up? Made the exact same tower but when I get to the last couple layers they just break every time I place them

The downside to an open build like this is that after some rain, the wood will look like crap. Basically everything has to be stone or have a roof.. which is a shame of such a nice castle

@Vetlive: What's your (honest) opinion about GeForceNow? Does it really improve the performace for Valheim on older PCs?
Hi Olaf, you are playing the game on Nvidia's servers so if you have a good enough internet connection, you are getting a good PC for not a lot of money. We couldn't say how well it will improve for you but there is a free option for you to try yourself
Doesn`t work( I`m waiting for a new castle
Doesn't work as of the new patch, I don't know if it legitimately worked prior to the patch without mods. tried 5 revisions and couldn't get even close to the height and weight ratios shown in the video. Wasted a good amount of time thanks to this

Very nice build and wonderful work! It is a shame the Dev team for this game hasn't done much in regards to content since the Feb EA release. Phasmophobia which only had one dev until recently, did a much better job getting content (maps, ghosts, as well as fixes) compared to the team at Iron Gate. =/
I don't usually comment, but I'm sorry this comment is woefully ignorant of how different these types of games are and how long it takes to make games in general. The creator of Phasmaphobia obviously worked their ass off to make an awesome game but when you're trying to compare them, one is a game based around small standalone maps (the biggest being the Asylum) with set/slightly branching experiences/game loops each time and is more than likely created using mostly pre-made assets (nothing wrong with pre-made assets but it needs to be taken into account when considering timescale on a game project). The other is a procedurally generated MASSIVE open world experience with fully custom assets, multiple enemy types and AI behaviors, A construction system as well as multiple RPG and crafting systems to balance. Cut the devs some slack and stop being so entitled, this is one of the most polished EA games i've seen in years. It's so easy to get burnt out in this industry and we should be celebrating and encouraging them so that this doesn't become another game that never reached it's awesome potential.
@@robertduckworth3428 I was not comparing the games, but the effort put in by the dev(s). Phasmo was more polished out of the gates last Oct and continues to have content as well as bug fixes, by a single person. A five person dev team, now with lets say two million dollars behind them (out of roughly five million made) is barely getting bug fixes out of the studio. While I get the complexity differences between game types here and applaud them for the game, it does not feel like they put in the same level of effort. We will probably have to agree to disagree on this one.
@@malguskerensky No worries, I'm sorry that I was a bit over zealous with my first comment as well. At the end of the day we don't know what's going on behind the scenes and what problems they have encountered (both professionally and personally). Hell even just trying to repro a bug before submitting a fix in an open world game like this can be a nightmare due to the amount of variables that can be in play to create the bug. Either way, sorry I was a bit abrupt and I hope you have a good day :)
