The build is really good but the video itself is fantastic. Witty commentary without trying too hard, smooth transitions, really entertaining. Would LOVE to see more content of any kind
I said the same thing. I am new to uploading and editing videos and have a tough time with it. I just uploaded my first youtube video of my base and want to take it down to redo it because this vid is too smooth! Not sure how to do that to my vid
I think it’s the best Valheim building guide I’ve seen. Realistic to build, nice looking, highly customizable, well optimized, accurately explained and relatively simple. And I’ve a feeling that 3 remaining entrances allows to organically expend the base with farms, smelting, shipyard, or any other “module” (like the mentioned portal hub). And the basement with “some other stuff” to put anything you need, but don’t want to see. I personally think that this base build is just perfect)
Rarely post but I've been playing Valheim since the start and watched hundreds of videos. This build and video are top notch. Simple, easy, super functional builds and humorous delivery. Top notch. Can't wait for more. Have a pigpen I think you'd like.
Tried it, liked it. Then Bog Witch came out and added the mead kettle to make mead bases and I couldnt fit the oven in. So, I remade the kitchen with the basic plan to move the hearths one tile back and one tile sideways each to make a little walkway between them. Ended up with a small, stone walled kitchen room with hearth, iron spit, mead kettle and cauldron on one side and two ovens on the other. Has room for two fermenters between the original outside wall and new hearth/oven placement, and can probably fit the new food prep table in the end of the walkway, but havent tried yet. Thank you for the amazing build and guide, its probably going to be the only building I use as a main base from now on
What a great video. And fun too. I have 2000+ hours logged playing Valheim and probably a 1000 hours looking at Valheim content on TH-cam. I can without a doubt say that this is one of the best thought out builds I have ever seen. And I have never created anything that came close. I am making an endgame base atm and I will def try to incorporate your thoughts. Please make more content. You are very good at it
I've spent like 10 hours trying to find valheim builds that look good, function well, and actually describe the building process in a way that demonstrates without skipping like... All of it Thank you for making so much of my favorite kind of build, instant subscribe
Fantastic build and stellar tutorial. I appreciate the clever flexibility of the design and chuckled along with your tutorial. I hope to see more content from you!
The way you described everything was precisely how I needed it explained to understand WHY to do things. The whole process was so smooth, the transitions were perfect, the random jokes kept me engaged. All around great video
@Crate Of Bananas, I hope you have as many subscribers as you desire and deserve someday. A million or so, sounds good to me... This is one of the best Valheim videos I've seen. You put a huge smile on my face with your wit, and humor. The house itself is a truly phenomenal, practical, beautiful and artful design. Your instructions are clear, succinct, and a joy to watch. I am absolutely building this house. I've been playing the game for 2-3 weeks now. I'm late to the party but I absolutely LOVE this game. I have been intentionally taking my time in the black forest, and experimenting with wood buildings. But now you've inspired me to move on to Iron and Stone. Time to take down that second boss, and head to the swamp. I have all the resources I need, and I feel so fortunate to have found your video. Your design is going to be the centerpiece of my next base. I have no doubt that the practicality and efficiency of this design and your philosophy behind it, will really improve my play experience. Thank you so much! (subbed for sure). Cheers!
I love this build! Your commentary is funny and i love how easy you made it to follow along for my adhd brain lol. Im definitely gonna make this my early game house this time around. I also noticed a giant gaping pit in the background of the final shot that made me laugh.
My daughter and I copied your tutorial to the T. It came out amazing and she loves it. Thanks for the awesomr walk through on how to build this. Now we cant wait to do all the additions. We just made it to the swamps and got enough iron to build this.
I really like the simplicity of this build! Most valheim builds look great, but aren't practically usable at all. Definitely will be adapting this design! As for my own take on the design, since you mentioned being interested in how folks would modify it, I think I would change it so that 2 workstations can fit in each corner - so the workbench and forge would go in one corner and the black forge and gladr table go in the other. I'd then change the boxes so that there's a small row of boxes between the crafting tables (actually in the corner) - so instead of 4 - 4 reinforced boxes, it would be 3 - 2 - 3. It's a bit more cramped, but eyeballing it looks like it will work, although we might have to make the room slightly bigger. The other two corners would be the kitchen and an armory - with item stands with armor sets on them and boxes with all your old equipment in. The bed would then be in a loft balcony over the kitchen / armory half. (I really like loft balconies.) This is a really great design though! Thanks for sharing!
This is a great one and done and/or rebuildable main building. I think there are two major factors that make it one of the best around: 1. No janky building off of 'snap point' pieces 2. No need for fancy terrain manipulation/basements
After using it a couple of times I found that is possible to sacrifice two more doors to bring Kiln and both Smelters 'inside' or just one for the two Smelter so the loaded shuffle isn't as long.
My favorite thing is sorting all of my stuff. All items of the same type, such as foods or crafting materials, go together, and all misc items are sorted by region/biome. Love this game so much!! ❤
It's my dreamhouse, too now - and I have built it for my late-game base in the plains! I love that it is so customizable, while your guide was easy to follow to get the basic build right.
Wanted to say THANK YOU - with your help, my forever home went from looking like a shoebox wearing a bad toupee - to something I am very proud of. Before I found "my bananas" (you) My first house the roof leaked so bad I never got the rested bonus. The second, got roof tight, but the fireplace killed me when I slept. You rock! For an older gamer like me, you excel at taking us clearly through each step without making us feel like morons and you made me laugh
I did it. I built a version of this! Yet to get tar so black roof isn't on yet, but I've modified it, I've added an adjacent outdoor area for growing crops, another for smelting/smithing and I've put a spiral staircase starting in the basement and ending above the roof on the portal deck above the house! This was so much fun, thank you!
I have no idea how I did came up on this video, but it looks amazing! I've watched it all and wanted to scroll down to your channel to see more videos from you and how surprised I was when I've noticed this is your fisrt video... And it's great! Keep it on this level and you might have pretty nicely growing channel later on! Can't wait to see more videos from you!
Exquisite build, managing to be simple in both aesthetics and execution while also maintaining utility. I'd personally use the central 'dump hole' to build an u-shape staircase up to a 2nd level where I'd move the bedroom and everything not related to crafting. Would serve to provide more separation between the two, a nicer vantage point for all those times you want to sit down and relax, and it'd expand on the semi-japanese aesthetic of the baseline house.
Keep at it my man. The video is amazing, informative, really well edited and great commentary with just the right amount of humor. The build is also very well thought out. I will definetly use some of that for inspiration. Thank you for your effort!!
Great instructions on putting this one together. Since they are hinting at fires being too close to wood structure causing a structure fire I did modify the kitchen layout a bit to give a little more stone separating the fire from the core wood walls. I chose this one as my new main house since you did exactly what I wanted to see in a build. A minimal basement that was the best spot to put almost all of the upgrades into. Out of sight, out of mind but still gets the job done. I also had a lot of storage in my practical but not pretty house but this setup even beat that and I had a LOT of reinforced chests. Never mind that I already went down into the basement to take one of the same areas to have a basement chest area for the things I haven't gotten rid of but I don't need. Like the ancient seeds, withering bones, etc. etc. Those can hang out in the basement on a you never know when it could come in handy basis. I just flipped the script for being able to have snap points down there by putting in the core wood logs on the front and going around to the side for my new snap points to install the floor bits to. Removed the core wood logs after that and the floor bits stay just fine since they are touching the stone walls. The basement doesn't stack up like the top does but I don't need much down in the basement for storage given the insane amount of storage up top you already had by default so it works for me. What can I say I'm a packrat.
WOW, this is such a sick base. Ive seen alot of bases on youtube, but im very particular with what I like and love to have my stuff organised and efficient nd this really ticks all boxes. I thought my base was optimally built but this is truly amazing.
Hahaha the dump hole ... genius! Great video buddy as a solo valheim player who has made MASSIVE builds . I can very much appreciate awesome builds like this
Found your dreamhouse yesterday. Got instant building fever and copied a lot of your base ideas. Those carpet sections will propably take place in every one of my future builds - such a fantastic idea!
i just followed the guide to make the house and was so proud of myself lol i made it with dark wood roof and dark wood beams for the shelves i also made a large outdoor forge area by extending the foundation. i love this house and setup!
I have about 1k hours in this game, ive never been good at building so i usually build stupid box houses and keep expanding, so i started looking up videos. I came across this, and what can i say its PERFECT! i love the tutorial, the format, very easy to understand, keep up the amazing work!
Black Forge can be in the Corner with Galdr sank down the floor. Imagine 3 spikes, and a purple ball popping up the floor. You can just look down to use Galdr.
I will build this. And Fool around with it a little. I was very entertained watching your video! Thank you so much! I hope you find the time and mood to Show some more! Stay safe and take care!
Been really loving this base man, thank you so much! Made it and did a few adjustments to fit my needs but mostly kept it by your design. Something that I did was to give a bit more room over the kitchen so that the fermenters can sit over the chests :)
I was already sold, but when i saw the basement (i initially assumed the addons were hidden inconveniently in the walls as constructed [and would be a pain to edit after construction]) i was blown away. and the hot tub door! 8D
i am turning your base into a japanese castle very impressed by how practical and easy to build it is. i just added three more floors over it and made the first floor and the second floor converge. made the third floor for portals and the top floor is sekiro emma&ishin boss fight area. I had to make the base 10 by 10 and raised the ground instead of stone walls so the walls connect to the base of the build like in real Japanese castles.
I haven't played Valheim for a while and I liked the game because of the building aspect. Watching this made me want to play the game again and maybe make something like your build too. Thanks for sharing
Love the design and layout. Very practical yet still very stylish. I could see using this as a primary home with extra storage in another location. Get the rested buff while resupplying, cooking and repairing/fabricating equipment.
After watching (and enjoying) this video again and again, I took a hammer and spent a day building this. As a regular mortal it was not an easy task but it's now the perfect place to spend time playing with a friend on our common game. Though it's not as perfect as your builds, which I pay respect for, it will improve over time. Thanks again for sharing your creation and making this wonderful video ! Now it's time to go refill my rock and wood stocks, hopefully I'll show you the result when our Bastion feels more customised. GL & HF 🕹
I combined your base foundation/base+main floor plan with a 2nd floor portal circle. It is a perfect Starter Base for my discord dedicated server. Thank you for your inspirational design!
He built a house that he liked and he couldn't get over. Now I have to hear about it and I'm all for it! It's a sweet house, but an even sweeter video.
Thanks for the fantastic build guide! I've been watching a lot of them the past few days and so far this has been the best one. An estimated amount of materials for survival, giving ideas how to build it in survival mode instead of just flying around (albeit I gave up and went into creative myself lmao), very easy to follow along and the video has been put into sections! Also loved the commentary and the humor. Subscribed, keep it up man :D
Actually entertaining to listen to, i half watched through it to see if i could use it for inspiration and i think i will test it out, it has a lot of space for individual detailing and adding stuff. It can act as many different things as well, big entrance hall, just a big hall, big bedroom, one of many halls connected. The build is kinda like a big lego brick! Also as i said, very entertaining, actually laughed at some comments you made, feels more like: this is something fun i want to make, more than others that feel like they have to. Addendum, when building windows or such on a roof like you have here, just put 2m wood pieces on the roof tiles, makes you able to stand still and move around quite easy! Just need stairs or such to get up on the roof to begin with!
I have a solution to the sorting and storage (wasteful time) I build a small area in the portal hub, that holds 4 cart's. Initially I place items in the cart the way I want them. then when exploring and going back to your house/base . You can just dump everything in the cart's. When a particular item fills up. I remove the stack and place the leftover back in it's place. When (rarely) it is an exact stack. I remove 1 and put it back in the cart for place stack. Then transfer the full stack to the storage area. This has cut down on so much sorting and storage time.
Honestly this house is great, I started a new world (pulled my resources from my old one) and made this, I love it so far, need to get to the Plains to start making the better looking roof.
Great narration dude! The pacing kept me engaged the entire video and its 25 minutes! I like the build too, I'll give this a shot once I finish some current projects 😂
Realy nice Video, i made the kitchen a bit bigger with a storage floor, 2 Stone ovens, 1 cauldron, 2 big firesplaces, the Iron cooking station and 3 Fermenters, isnt that much bigger than your kitchen (Just 1m and rounded) and was realy fun to build its like every day a new bit of improvement in this small House. So practical.
Just wanna say that i built your dream house in my latest playthrough and i just wanna say its amazing! I did a few variations; for example instead of the "dump hole", i created a stone staircase down, creating access to the basement where ill be making an armory! Also love the sleeping quarters/secret banner window!
I Like it ! this house might have became my dreamhouse as well ! amazing video, straight to the point, simple explanation with follow-ups of examples "you can build it like this, or like this, or like that" just brilliant. Hail Odin.
I loved this video. It was easy to follow and quite helpful with building tips. I made a copy of this build and had a blast spending the day tweaking and customizing it.
This video is really hypnotizing. I’m starting a new playthrouh just to build your builds, just found your channel and I just want to let you know you’re LEGENDARY
Wow that looks neat, never copied a build but that might be the first once i'm done with my castle, doubt i'll want to start another 1000 hours build right away, so that might be the chill build i need :D
I'm probably going to build this or something similar in my current playthrough. It looks tidier and easier to build than the iron-age roundhouse/yurt design I used last. Snapping those roof pieces to make smooth curves on the circular roof was a test of patience and while I like how it turned out, I probably won't make it again. It's just a bit too annoying to get the curves right. Also, the sleeping quarter joke is 10/10 😂. Well played!
Hi Mr crate, I just finished building your dream house design, and i find it so cool, the video is so well made too! I'm glad i followed your tutorial. Much love from a fellow viking :)
Very nice build. My vision sometimes exceeds my motivation/time to get all the materials but I enjoy the art of creating on Valheim. Thanks for the inspiration.
Fantastic video, im a miser when it comes to Iron, so instead of Iron beams. I placed 4 stone pillars in the basement and used core wood. Works just fine. Although for the top the 2 meter beams that line the roof are put on after the roof is set. Instead of 4 45 degree corners. I used 2, 44, and 2 26 degree corners. Framed them out. For a ventilation system for a central hearth. Instead of a dump hole. I use 4 cart's in my portal hub to dump items. (After the initial item placement) Then i only need to store an item when it fills up. This has reduced an insane amount of sort time.
Thanks for sharing this great design in a video that's funny and explains everything you do. I did steal your idea right away and used it in my actual save. I build it a second time over the weekend with some minor modifications and am very happy so far. It really works great. Thank you and keep up the good content.
Watched this video after I thought I heard mention of it from an awesome factory build. Not sure though. You could use the secret hole next to the Black Forge (in the corner) to put the Galdr table in the basement. Do some decoration in that part of the basement to make it the "magic corner." That way you could say, "Hey, drop into my secret hole to visit my magic corner." Makes perfect sense to me.
Finally built this dreamhome. Built it in the plains for optimal farming. Still have a lot of work to do with the extensions but I have the main part complete.
18:25 ''i like to feel important when i sleep'' had me laughing, i found myself laughing at a lot from your humor whilst building this with you, subbed :)
nice idea to build a pretty house, i like the large empty space inside. I ll try to make something simillar in a drauger village because there is a big flat area there
The build is really good but the video itself is fantastic. Witty commentary without trying too hard, smooth transitions, really entertaining. Would LOVE to see more content of any kind
I completely agree. Im going to build this just because the video was presented amazingly!
Couldn't agree more. Looking forward to future content!
Bro is the Gordden Ramsay of valheim 😂
I said the same thing. I am new to uploading and editing videos and have a tough time with it. I just uploaded my first youtube video of my base and want to take it down to redo it because this vid is too smooth! Not sure how to do that to my vid
I agree, had me laughing throughout!
I think it’s the best Valheim building guide I’ve seen. Realistic to build, nice looking, highly customizable, well optimized, accurately explained and relatively simple. “You’ve made order out of chaos” made me chuckle
I did it. I created a version of your dream house. It snapped together better than Scandinavian flat pack furniture. Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
Rarely post but I've been playing Valheim since the start and watched hundreds of videos. This build and video are top notch. Simple, easy, super functional builds and humorous delivery. Top notch. Can't wait for more. Have a pigpen I think you'd like.
FIRST UPLOAD AND BRO HAS ME HOOKED!!
The authentic God-fearing corner was the nail in the coffin, I’m gonna do a version of your build. Great guide. 👍
Tried it, liked it.
Then Bog Witch came out and added the mead kettle to make mead bases and I couldnt fit the oven in. Thank you for the amazing build and guide, its probably going to be the only building I use as a main base from now on
Top 1% video I've seen about valheim
What a great video. And fun too. I have 2000+ hours logged playing Valheim and probably a 1000 hours looking at Valheim content on TH-cam. I can without a doubt say that this is one of the best thought out builds I have ever seen. And I have never created anything that came close.

Dude, you need to touch grass
I've spent like 10 hours trying to find valheim builds that look good, function well, and actually describe the building process in a way that demonstrates without skipping like... All of it
Thank you for making so much of my favorite kind of build, instant subscribe
Love the emphasis on modularity and practicality which most build guides lack
Fantastic build and stellar tutorial. I appreciate the clever flexibility of the design and chuckled along with your tutorial. I hope to see more content from you!
The way you described everything was precisely how I needed it explained to understand WHY to do things. The whole process was so smooth, the transitions were perfect, the random jokes kept me engaged. All around great video
I also appreciate the fact that you give the minimums with explanations why, followed by possible aesthetic additions. This is so useful.
of all the builds ive seen this is what meta should look like

I subbed because of how awesome this house is. My jaw DROPPED when you went through the carpet.

Died falling off the roof while building this. 10/10 would do it again.
It's my dreamhouse, too now - and I have built it for my late-game base in the plains! I love that it is so customizable, while your guide was easy to follow to get the basic build right.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS RESOURCE EFFICIENT. I may actually do this build on a vanilla play-through, now.
The Dump Hole is flippin' genius!

I've played on and off since the beginning and I just redid my base with this build. Great video! Thank you!
i just followed the guide to make the house and was so proud of myself lol i made it with dark wood roof and dark wood beams for the shelves i also made a large outdoor forge area by extending the foundation. i love this house and setup!
I just finished playing Enshrouded and was told it's the successor of Valheim, so was thinking about giving this a try. Your set up is really nice!
Valheim is by far superior in Survival aspect of the game
True but building goes to enshrouded so easy and more freedom to build how you want@joshhiroti
I have about 1k hours in this game, ive never been good at building so i usually build stupid box houses and keep expanding, so i started looking up videos. I came across this, and what can i say its PERFECT! i love the tutorial, the format, very easy to understand, keep up the amazing work!

GL & HF 🕹
Me and my boyfriend became obsessed with your videos. Please make more of them, we love them!
I don't know whats better. The build or the video.
duuude. your dump hole idea. which i'm gonna call "loading bay". is something i really needed thank you
I combined your base foundation/base+main floor plan with a 2nd floor portal circle. It is a perfect Starter Base for my discord dedicated server. Thank you for your inspirational design!
I have an architectural degree and let me say that was a beautiful home. I’ll definitely try that out.
"Not everyone is a fan of my dump hole"
You truly have a way with words
He built a house that he liked and he couldn't get over. Now I have to hear about it and I'm all for it! It's a sweet house, but an even sweeter video.
You deserve more subscribers my friend! Amazing house build and a great guide to build it. Thank you so much!
This build is criminally underrated. Great job!
That's a super well made video
This is my dream build, insanely pretty and practical. Most youtubers only do either.
Nice house! Good job explaining and nice editing.
These are probably the best videos I've seen on Valheim building. Thanks so much for doing these.
Did the base house, and got a lot of inspiration for improvisation, thanks a lot!
Hail Odin.
Liked the build, liked your style, liked the video. I can see this becoming my forever home. Splendid.
Thank you for the amazing design. Well done. Love the storage. I recreated your house with my own little touches. Turned out well.
i built it in survival and i LOVE IT!!! i didn't get everything correct but honestly its my home and i love it, thank you for a great video!
You can add wooden stairs on top of stone stairs to make it fit with the build, and it fits perfectly with the wooden floors
Very nice build. My vision sometimes exceeds my motivation/time to get all the materials but I enjoy the art of creating on Valheim. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great video, the quality of everything, the image, the commentary, and the content is top notch. Looking forward to more videos from you, subscribed!
Very nice. This takes "open concept" to a whole new level. 🌻❤🌻
This made me want to go start a new world again, just so I can build this house!
I'm almost done! Great tutorial! This puppy's gunna take me to the Ashlands. Would love to see your take on a dock/boat house.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I’ll build it ASAP. I’ll take the time to dig the basement into the ground. FYI very well put together video
Thank you. I look forward to living in this on my next playthrough.
This design is just perfection!! Well thought out, well explained in the video!
nice idea to build a pretty house, i like the large empty space inside. I ll try to make something simillar in a drauger village because there is a big flat area there
