You didnt mention the most important aspect of the update, the gameplay changes. Perfect oportunity to make a specific video about that 🤩. Good content as always bro.
@@flsmidfekar192 yea tbh it feels like i have to re-learn quite a lot, can't do varial flips anymore.. figured out tres by now, scoop in a 3/4 circle motion and not 1/2 circle anymore.. struggling hard but liking the new freedom.. Also i dont mind TMNT, but rather see resources getting allocated to the core of the game.. map is surprisingly good indeed, though. Most important part: We know the game is still alive and supported.
As a fellow game dev and fan of TMNT I think it was a great idea. Obviously, they have a lot of bugs to fix/tweak in the game and should be focusing on that but this collaboration probably put some money in the devs pockets to allow the studio to do such things. On top of that, it probably brought the game to a lot more people's attention be it through promotional content or videos such as this that are highlighting it and generating discussion. I would say it was a bad idea if it cost real money since this is a SIM and the turtles don't match the vibe but you can continue to enjoy the game without having to encounter the turtles at all. Maybe not the best move but in no way was it a bad one.
It was stupid if you ask me seems like a gimmick to get kids to buy the game
I think the tweaks to the gameplay were improvements, but the TMNT stuff is a waste of resources. JLNightmare confirmed that Creature studios received no money for incorporating TMNT into the game, so I don't see benefit to Session, unless there is blatant Session advertising within the TMNT movie - which I doubt.
Like others have mentioned, I would have liked the resources spent on more core features - touching-up the "story" missions, more customizable clothing, perhaps a weather feature to give the environments a fresh feel.
Overall, an appreciated update to possibly the best skateboarding game in twenty years.

This looks like a lot of fun. I’m not a TMNT fan but I hope Creature got some decent Hollywood money from this to go back into the game. There’s a nice balance here with not taking everything super seriously with the costumes, but clearly treating the new map design seriously, that speaks to TMNT but also skating realistically.
I absolutely love the turtles and the new sewer area, it's hilariously fun! Also the gameplay changes feel so good!
I agree - it's fun. I didn't like the flip changes at first, thought it was bugged with sync turned off, but it's not. Flip tricks just got a lot more specific/intentional, and I think I love it (even though it's very hard, felt like I was re-learning Session).
Glad to hear they got an animator. It's so fucking hard to find talent - and that's just 1 person. The last guy left, so I genuinely wish the new animator the best.
They also fixed some gameplay stuff (improved flip offset (board tries to keep under your skater better), improved scoop speed input, improved flip pitch) and added and fixed some audio stuff (disabling of flatground spots sound, added flip sound, kinda *woosh* and added sound for pressure flips, reworked board breaking height sound and etc.), also they did some improvement in mission like "Rock RIde".
Some good fixes all around!
Anyone hating on the TNMT being added to a skate game based in 90s new york should be ashamed.
The turtles {Mostly Michelangelo} have been on skateboards since there television debut. and the skater theme for at least 1 turtle always seemed to remain.
Unless its 2012 where they all had skateboards. but for older members of the skate community these guys were like mascots for skating in the early 2000's
i have seen people say maybe it should have been the Costumes from the First film trilogy and reaction wouldnt have been as negative.
I personally love that they decided to show love to the turtle who have shown love to Skateboarding for the last 2 decades.
They deserve some love.
Also the turtles are COSTUMES like you would wear to comic con there a suit so for anywhere saying its not realistic remember Real people skate in thous giant inflated t-rex custumes for views or just lawls its the era of the internet we live in hell they had people use and ride real skateboards while wearing the suits In the first life action movie.
Hopefully this means the studio got some money for game improvements. 🤞

small note, the camera can be tweaked quite a bit. overall i think this was a great indicator that they are working on gameplay, and the tmnt map being free was a nice touch
What’s cool about the money is the skaters money carry’s over to another custom skater, so if you complete the game and want to play it with a new skater, the money carries over so LOTS OF MONEY!! Also so cool to have the turtles in the game!! Hope for Halloween we can get some horror movie characters 🎃 and Christmas we can get Jesus and Santa lol

cant wait for some animation re working and overall smoothness to gameplay. Hope they add some multiplayer aspects to the game in the next year or two. Some community made parks would be a nice fit for this game
Dude I love it. As a console player skater xl is…well not great. Session has been my skate game and anything they can do to help hype the game up is awesome by me. Not to mention the turtles art, compared to the movie is more spot on than I expected. Even if they are bulky.
Honestly seems pretty big to me they got a collab with Paramount Pictures^^
Glad they're still patching and improving the game, I haven't touched it in a hot minute, but I think I might give it a go with the new map and stuff :)
0:04 I love it. I just wish they were a little bit shorter, and that I was better at using filmer mode so I could use the filter.
You could have banged out 30-40 historic challenges for the 2k and gotten all the turtles. Btw with your skill level you can grind out story mode in like 1 day, give it 3 for comfort and have over 20k smackaroos
its free so im all for it, you dont need to see the turtles and you dont need to use the comic book filter. so having it there for the people that do like this stuff is great! i love the map and thats more than i could ask for, for being free lmao. heres hoping they keep going in the right direction. i like this stuff but not when it is all the time. but here and there adding these fun little things is cool.

Regardless of what you think about the TMNT update, it is meaningful that Nickelodeon licensed it to Session and not SXL.
Love that my boy jl nightmare is apart of the team also so he is definitely going to let us know what has been updated in session

I get that there known as the “most realistic skate sim” but I think some collabs and brand deals are beneficial and some ninja turtles won’t hurt anybody the game is still really fun. Plus it’s not a totally random collab at least
Also the street section of the sewer map gives me Hudland map vibes from Skater XL
wish they'd remember that they're meant to be a realistic simualtor, the improvements to the skating are great, and like you said free map will always be welcome, but they ruined the fisheye curve and we can skate as a ninja turtle before we can wear a hat without being bald...
It's an option to skate with them, it doesn't take away realism because you don't have to choose that character

I was pretty confused by the decision to add TMNT stuff to the game. I was also kinda disappointed when they said they didn’t make any money from Nickelodeon for the promotion but I do actually like the map and the bug fixes. Also the comic book style camera filter is pretty cool as well.
They need to put toggle for ghosting and blur!
I loved the update! Fun playing as the ninja turtles! lol! I know its not realistic but i think it does not hinder the game if once in a while they have fun!

I like TMNT, but anyone complaining about how it looks just didn't see what the animation that is getting released look like... It's pretty cool, but imho i hate the looks of this new animation... And my camera is usually low, close to the skateboard... So the shell is ok for me...

I don’t see how it makes the game less realistic. You can buy TMNT costumes and go skating IRL. It’s not like they put in the Tellitubbies. TMNT has always skated.

It’s definitely not a skate sim when you can’t do basic stuff like grabs and throw down your board or make basic turns. I was really hoping this game would get better because I enjoyed it at first

Free content is always welcomed of course but I can't help but wish they were putting more time into fixing and improving the game. Especially when there's already tons of maps and even better TMNT models already available.
I think the tmnt thing was a thing that was added last-minute, but they've gotten a bigger team so as far as i know big things are comin
the collaboration was a surprise last minute, and yes they have been working on this game
Obviously they've been working on the game but I mean the map, clothing and deck stuff they've added isn't something they've just knocked up last minute. It takes time to make that stuff. I just wish they were putting that time into finishing and fixing the game before they worry about adding extra stuff.

Opinions and feelings change based on experiences. I had a mostly pleasant experience with this update so I like it. I always said I think Crea-ture make great maps, I’m just not happy with them moving away from recreating real life locations, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make good original maps I can also enjoy.

pretty wack. i could see tmnt in something like tony hawk or even skate, but for a game claiming to be a "sim" they added some atrocious looking characters
