No, to be able to play the skateboard career, with its events, stunts, new sponsor, as well as in free roam, it needs to be purchased. Can I try the skateboard for free? Yes! There will be a free demo available, and on top of this there will be skateboard Live Events and Live Areas every week of Season 8 to play with the skateboard for free! How much will the skateboard cost? You can grab the skateboard as part of the game editions, or with the Skate Plus Pack. You can also buy it individually in the in-game store for 2500 RC. Which is the same amount of credits the welcome pack will give this season. There are new controls? To be able to squeeze as much skateboarding tricks as possible, we added a bumper on top of the controls. New combinations, more tricks! You can find the controls in this thread. Of course, you can customise the controls to suit you! Is there a difference between Street and Ramps? Street boards are ideal for mastering the intricate micro-aspects of the sport, allowing skaters to stay close to the ground and chain together impressive combos. On the other hand, ramp boards excel at unleashing the most spectacular aerial tricks, making them the preferred choice for skaters seeking to push the boundaries of their creativity in the air. And on top of this, each category have its own 2 distinct tricks. Will the skateboard still be around after season 8? Yes it will. Can you do slower flips? Yes, just by pushing your stick halfway.

I'm aware of Riders Republic being a mix of everything, but if I just wanted to skateboard, how viable is it? Like, can I just focus on skateboarding, or would I be forced to take part in the other stuff?
The skateboard is a great addition to an already awesome game. My only gripe is that it lacks some moves like the no comply, boneless, handplants, rock 'n' roll, wallrides, wallies, footplant on walls, reverts, etc. Probably because I've been playing all of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games all my life. But other than that, the skateboard was nice.

But from a gameplay perspective its pretty well done... it just doesn't really feel like there very much to do except freeskate around in the new "Decks" area once you finish. So no... not worth $40. Id say wait till it has some sort of sale. It is fun tho
@@MrVirtuezzz one thing they really nailed is the WEIGHT of your charecter. Doing a flip trick onto a rail and then a flip trick off of a rail with a spin rotation feels REALLY good. Its not cartoony, your not going to be doing 5 spins off of a rail lol
The physics of the skating seems way to slidy. Like they got the snowboarding physics and and just made animations for the feet to get off the board and make the sounds skateboard-ish. The momentum feels like it's boosting you in a inconsistent way and also you're landing tricks almost sideways and you don't bail out at all. I'd appreciate some physics that feel like there's some actual traction between the skateboard wheels and the ground. Some more accurate detection of how you're landing the tricks and making sure they make the ramps feel less snowboard-like. It's cool so far tho but I don't think I'd get it if the feel wasn't adjusted in this specific way.
Haven’t played it yet, but if they don’t have them already, I want a penny board and a long board. Those remote control off-road ones might be cool for the game too.
how does the speed of the board feel? I still am looking forward to try the rr skateboards but something about all the other sports in riders felt weirdly a bit too fast

pizzas a pretty new company, mini logo is a budget brand made by powell peralta, hence why some powell stuff is in their sponsor rewards, im surprised they went for these brands in particular, especially pizza also do you know what other brands are in the game? im kinda hoping the unlocks arent just all the fake blind spot boards
the skate pack in the shop basically is a year two pass, gets you the skate career, the ridge ultimate events and the hover board. that's all that has came out in the second year of this game
Damn Pizza and Minilogo are some deep cuts. Had a hookups parody deck from pizza and their team/videos are pretty good I highly recommend. Minilogo I didn't even know was still around! Used to make the absolute worst blanks back in the day 😂 but knew a homie who skates for them and he never complained 😂
bro i dont like the new combo thing bro. it makes most simple trick combos in events be over 30k. not all but most. its just kind of anoying. i used to have to work so hard sometimes to get a 30k combo. now it is so easy EDIT: ik it just for skateboarding but still

Never claimed to be a skater, I BMX and have played a lot of skateboard games so my knowledge on skateboarding is limited to what I'm exposed to at the skatepark or though skate games 🤷
Both, there's a bunch of new areas to ride and a new season progression that's free in the update, but you also have the option to buy the skateboard career in the store now as well
This new SKATE update is godawful! 1. Buttons swap was senseless 2. Now you can't bind parachute back on "arrow down" 3. New close cam is useless. Now you must press three times to change cam from tps to fps 4. Helmet googles are broken 5. Previously the game run smoothly. Now its is impossible to play because of constant stattering 6. Overall visuals are somehow worse.
As far as updates on tricks, I'd really like for them to add flat spin 360's on all the bikes. There's 3 versions of cash rolls. One of them can go lol. Like have it where when you press left/right then down on the right stick, the rider does a flat spin 360 like how it is on the snowmobile when you press up then left/right.
