Great question! The fish is the "significator or the focus card" for my job questions. Since the main question is about job opportunities, I activated the fish card while I concentrate my energy on activating the "fish card" (focus card). As I give energy to the question, I also imagine the fish card in my mind to help activate it. This is why I shuffle the cards face down. When you activate a significant card, this sets the intention by energizing the symbol with the question. You cast that card as if it were an actor on stage so that it can play a certain role in this particular reading. If I had a question such as: What is the romantic potential of my client's relationship? I would activate the "heart" card since it symbolizes feelings, passions, desires, loves and fondness.
