    I used to read Tarot Cards back in the 1980s. I recieved some very negative readings and I thought that there was something wrong with the cards... Now looking back I can see what the problem was. The readings were just before I was robbed of a lot of money and then my exboyfriend committed suicide and my teenage son was killed in a car accident. The cards saw the truth, but I didn't want to see it. So I quit reading for about 37 years. I need a refresher course. ✌😎👍

      I'm so very sorry for your traumatic losses. The cards tried to prepare me for my mother's death too but I chose to assume I was having a bad day. They simply want to prepare us, as a close friend may say, hold your breath, close your eyes and hold my hand, we can get through this together. Good luck with your renewed interest and I'm sure they will be very happy to be back in your life. ❤️

    That was really great. I've been looking at buying myself the deck again after having lost mine and put this path on hold, because those cards have always been very daunting to me. In half an hour, you made them approachable and, even, "friendly". Thank you so much !

      This makes me truly happy! It's why I make the videos. Over the years, I've heard so many say that they were gifted a deck or bought it but it was too hard, they couldn't remember the cards etc., If I have bought a card reader back on their gifted path it warrants an honest reply like this. The cards will have called to you. I have a printable of the cards on my site (the-tarot-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Tarot-Card-Printable-1.pdf), you can stick them into a notebook and write the keywords down again, use the video as a prompt and you'll be amazed at how quickly you'll recall every single card from 78!!

    AMAZING video. I've been reading for decades, but haven't touched my cards in over 5 years now, so I needed a refresher course. I remember a lot of cards having slightly different meanings for me, which is an important point to make here - different readers may intuit different meanings for any given card, and that's perfectly fine. Like, for example, I always saw The Hanged Man as "a change of perspective" as the world looks different when you're upside-down; it suggests to me that you look at something objectively, from a different point of view than your own, and/or set aside an old idea, notion, or way of doing things and consider a new one. Many cards have deep stories and important messages that are very personal and unique, sometimes even from deck to deck and position to position, which is why Tarot is such a deeply personal and introspective study to undertake! (I'd need a 500-word essay to explain what the Page of Cups means to me and why...)

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  ปีที่แล้ว +35

      This is a really valid point. That's always the part of Tarot that I've loved - not rules, just traditions. You open up and let the cards do the work. I was taught Arthurian Tarot in a development circle 30+ yrs ago, meditating on every card, amazing fun and deeply personal to each one of us, but hard to replicate. Years later, I developed this method of visual teaching because I wanted to create an approachable method that removed the mystique and fear of failure that so many had. The most important factor for me was that they allowed the cards to speak to them in a simple language that will develop over time into an intuitive reading method. I am passionate about sharing the spiritual tool that stole my heart and saved my sanity all those years ago. But, you are right, it's an important caveat to make that yes, you will develop an intuitive method and relationship with your cards over time. I have a very intuitive relationship with the Knight of Cups but we won't go there either 😂 ❤️

Tarot cards have given me a lot of hope in life, no matter if they came out negative or not. I struggled with depression, suicidal tendencys and such. The cards helped me understand whats going on with me and the people around me. Spiritually is such a beautiful thing that people should look into more often. Oh wow! Now that's music to my ears and I'm very happy to have helped. It's like learning a new language, how to 'read' them. Once you've mastered the basics and can turn over any card and instantly recall the keywords, you start laying spreads. You can practice with pretend scenarios and also pull three cards a day for 'what does the universe have in store for me today' . Many pick it up very quickly when they do the daily card pulls. It helped to keep a record too - take a pic and then review every night, even if you do this for 7 days it'll speed up your learning. ❤️

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill and making this complex system simple enough to get a foot in the door. Fantastic video. Itv was clear and I watched it on 2x speed only because I was pressed for time and clearly your presentation was so perfectly timed that it only took 30 minutes in real time but in 15 minutes I never had to rewind, I never lost interest or got distracted (way too common for me so it's really a Big Deal) or confused. I love the simplicity of the artwork in the Ryder Waite, so helpful for people just starting out. For instance, the Knights, how the horses show different speeds. One standing, one starting to walk, one trotting, one galloping. All denoting the speed with which something is coming or happening. I’ve got some beautiful decks with gorgeous artwork, but this deck is my favourite.

    Thank you for this tutorial Maria, you explained it all simply but with detail. I have done a number of courses on Tarot and each teacher has their own 'take' on how to read cards. Some even introduce astrology and numerical meanings which is too much info when you are trying to grasp the basics... I have a number of tarot decks but always prefer the RWS... I think PC was an exceptionial artist and I love her imagery on the RWS deck as it talks to me... When learning the cards I find it useful to start with the key words and then expand on them using a type of word mind map, .then a picture begins to appear. I have subscribed and look forward to more of your sharing. ❤

    🌹Thank you sooooo much! Just what I needed! I get it now! Of course, I'll need to watch this MANY more times.
    I'm a hand on, show me, visual learner. So trying to learn from a book has been frustrating for me.
    Love your voice & energy.

      Hi Rose, I loved reading your comment because I am exactly the same, a visual learner and I was lucky enough to be taught in person. I wanted to create something that I would find helpful back then so I love the fact that it's helped you in some small way. Keep at it, it's one of the most rewarding tools and they become your best friends because they help you see things from a different perspective. Good luck and welcome to Tarot ❤️

      @TheTarotShopUK I hate that it took 3 weeks for TH-cam to notify me of your comment. Oy vey!
      But, what a pleasure reading your response. I could hear your voice in my head as I read. Truly amazing.
      I don't know what this "connection" is ... ?
      Please, don't think I'm a creep... but, I'm very drawn to you.
      I'd love to have tea & chat some time! 😊 I'm sure we'd have much to say!
      Much love to you lady! 💜 Thank you!

    I am new to tarot. I began it a year ago after overcoming my fear of them, but I have not been practicing them much because it was so difficult to remember their meanings. So, I gravitated to oracle cards because of their ease of interpretation. You really simplified tarot! I'm going to try using them again. Thank you!

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't tell you how happy I was to read your comment. If I could have one wish in life it would be that the world stop demonising the Tarot, it is just a deck of cards that allows us to connect to our inner wisdom and knowledge, nothing more, nothing less. A doorway to another world of clarity and love. I firmly believe that it suited the old religions to keep this knowledge for themselves because it awarded them power over the people. Nothing gives me greater joy than handing someone a tool that empowers them and this was my reason for posting this video in the first instance. Oracle cards are a beautiful alternative and if you check out my monthly tarotscopes briefly you'll see I use both! Good luck and I'm delighted that you didn't give up - welcome to the wonderful world of Tarot, it's an eternal journey of growth and understanding ❤️

      I'm so pleased to meet beginners. On my site is a free printables link where you'll find mini tarot cards (in the footer bar). If you print them out and stick one per page in a notebook. Make as many notes as you can on each card until they stick. There's also a cheatsheet for you. Practice doing dailies for yourself, what do I need to know for my day ahead and keep a note on your phone. You'll be building your relationship with your deck and building your confidence too. Good luck and welcome ❤

    Thank you so much for posting all this fascinating information. What you have crammed into the half hour is remarkable. I have made detailed notes, and now feel I have a thorough overview of what Tarot reading is all about. You explained clearly at all points & a great deal has stuck in my pictorial brain, I learn by seeing, so this was just perfect for me to learn & understand. I think I am ready to read the two books I have purchased now that my head is clear on matters. I have made my way to your website, it is too exciting, what fabulous decks and goodies you have for sale. I am filling my basket.

      I'm a visual learner too which is why I have to use the images to tell me the story behind the cards. I'm pretty sure that was also the intention of our founders of this deck in 1909, which makes teaching it so much easier. Good luck with the books ❤️

    I've always wanted to learn how 2 read tarot card's. Know the name's & meaning's of each card. And to know how many card's in the deck. And I just need 2 find out how much is a full deck. And how much it's gonna cost me. And then I would like to advertise myself I.on social media. And also do personal reading's for whoever wants one & charge them a fee & always ask & look 4 our Lord, Jesus Christ. And on all their spirit guide's to give me the message's or answer's they may want 2 tell u. So G'night, God bless & sweat dream's.

    a year ago i bought a tarot deck with art based off of characters and themes from a novel i really love. i’m still pretty new to tarot and the guide book it came with was helpful, but this is helping so much to see what the cards all mean in addition to the meaning i’ve personally drawn from the art. thank you!
