A few years ago they made a sequel. It mostly sucks but in it they reveal that the princess never stopped jumping on one leg and making animal noises for 20-30 years.

The woman that plays Akeem’s mom was battling Leukemia while filming her scenes and succumbed to it in 1995. 0:44 wait till you see the bathing. 😄 8:12 that’s Eddie Murphy. He and Arsenio play multiple roles in this movie. Eddie plays two people in the barber shop, Arsenio plays one and Cuba Gooding Jr plays one. 13:45 the film got permission from McDonald’s to use their likeness for a different company. A local McDonald’s owner actually thought someone was doing a knockoff building and threatened to sue them not knowing it was for a movie. You guys should check out the sequel. 22:36 people should’ve suggested you watch Trading Places before this movie. Those guys are part of the main cast and this shows what happens to them. 28:31 when Cleo trips running to the door wasn’t in the script John Amos actually tripped and the left it in cause it added to the humor. 32:05 just gave that woman half a million dollar earrings.

I have to notice that the scene where Samuel L Jackson attempts the shotgun robbery is very reminiscent of the restaurant robbery scene in Pulp Fiction. Even dialogue is similar. Those who watched Pulp Fiction will know what I'm saying, I don't want to write any spoilers. It looks like Tarantino made a reference to this scene in Pulp Fiction.

Randolf and Mortimer (Duke brothers), were basically the antagonists in the film Trading Places, a Eddie Murphy film as well. You have to watch that movie, not just because it brilliant and one of the best Eddie comedies, but also to learn how they got to their predicament, living on the streets.
