Karina and Giselle are vocalists too! Just a fun fact: before these two became SM trainees, Karina used to perform singing and dancing and Giselle was part of her school choir as an alto! In their previous interview, Giselle also said that one of her hidden talent is doing high notes 😊

Officially, Karina is 21 years, main dancer and leader. Giselle is 20, the main rapper. Winter is 20, the main visual, Ning ning is 19, the main vocalist. But as we see they all can sing, rap, dance, and have good visual too. They're rookie gg. Savage is their first mini album. Savage is number 1 now in Spotify South Korea.

The crazy beat and tempo changes happen mostly in title tracks. The b-sides have less of them in each song. I think it’s part of SM’s sound, but also allows for really entertaining live stages. Unfortunately, because of COVID we don’t have any concerts or live performances, but these kinds of songs really do well on the stage.
that’s what i was thinking. it seems like aespa’s concept is having a lot of different sounds and beats in their title tracks. i love how different they are.

SM is famous for many things,
Their Vocals
Their Change-Ups like (IGAB, Red Light, Zimzalabim)
Their compatibility and ability to Adapt to whatever concept
It’s very well known that most Lead Vocalists and some Rappers in SM could be Main Vocalist for any other Company/Group
But, SM has lack of genuine rappers. Mark and Taeyong?( I don't get his name) are only true rappers of SM. Other rappers are just like talking singing or the persons who just sing rap lyrics.( I hope you will get.) For Vocal, Visual and Performance, they all are great.

Of course SM was never famous for rap, I mentioned adaptability, and the reason most SM artists don’t rap is because up until the end of the Red Velvet era, SM focused a lot on ballads, only training Some Idols to Fast Talk when needed, I believe they’re trying to get into it more, without trying to copy YG in focusing on Rap/Swag

Nævis is an AI system that helps the avatars of aespa appear in the real world, allowing them to be seen by the real aespa members. She was first revealed in the MY, KARINA teaser video. She was also featured in the group's Black Mamba promotional images. The theory is she died while helping aespa defeat the black mamba and if she can be resurrected aespa and nævis can meet once again.

so basically the company they’re from is basically known for two things you pointed out: killer vocals and more “neo-pop” and “experimental” sounds in the instrumental. in my opinion, i too don’t really like “noise music” but this song really worked for me! their concept is more digital/industrial/technological esque, and i think the weird switch ups and harsh synths really fit, but again that’s just my opinion. i also always love your reactions to the high notes lmaoo
SM is letting aespa take on the experimental sound that’s more typically in their boy groups (EXO, NCT). I didn’t get it at first but now I absolutely love it, and seeing girls do this is totally badass. Aespa has such top tier vocals and visuals they can totally get away with being so unconventional. I think they are setting the standard for the future.

During winter the trainee and vocal teacher were the same as TVXQ's Changmin and EXO's DO vocal teacher, and Ningning was the longest SM trainee in Aespa (5 years of trainee) and Ningning had very strong and shrill vocals like her seniors (bada SES), and Those Naevis as their link to their avatar (ae)
