In black mamba they lost interaction with the nævis because of black mamba, in next level they are on their way to KWANGYA to fight the serpent and save nævis, and in savage they already arrive where black mamba is and are fighting with black mamba and it seems they defeated it but at the end it seems something obscure trapped them.

I completely agree with your comments about the dance break portion. I think the editors should have taken some inspiration from how Itzy have done their dance breaks in the past to make the editing look a little more chaotic to make the drop feel satisfying especially after such a cool moment with the winx-like animations of the girls

Karina: the Brains, seeing through the hallucinations
Giselle: the Engineer, building the weapons to fight
Ning Ning: the Hacker, weakening the villain's hold
Winter: the Sniper, fighting to free their AEs

I really like the camera movement at 3:15. I missed it on my first viewing, but now that I’m watching it again it’s easier to notice the snake-like movement of the camera (mimicking the cgi snake) as it gets closer to the girls. Pretty neat! Also, thanks for the insightful videos, as always. ⭐️

The 'panicked netizens' posts is about how the aes are disconnected, kinda like yesterday when facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp went down, everyone posted on twitter
And KWANGYA is not where the ae lives. They live in FLAT, that's why we see at the end of Black Mamba ep 1 that the aes don't know what KWANGYA is and Naevis explained it to them that it's 'beyond FLAT' and she's the only one who can open a portal called P.O.S(Port of Soul) for them to go to KWANGYA

NAEVIS "Butterfly that appears in all mv's", SACRIFICED ITSELF😭 and as it was shown in the MV, they thought they defeated the black mamba and suddenly released a "what?" which is when that amoeba appears telling us that it was the black mamba who won this battle. Everyone's reaction when "naevis we love you" comes 😂😂😂😂
In this MV, the eye is the one who took them in the “hallucination quest”. Then it was naevis who helped them and break this hallucination and made them “synk dive” to where that eye is (in the bridge part). Hence, “My naevis we love u” 😇
This makes sense cause i knew this was their hallucination quest. My victory my synk dive line makes sense to me now

The whole essence of the group is that they have this Avatar, Experience, and Aspect. So far I'm enjoying SM's theme even if it doesn't relate that much to their overall thing.

If anyone wants to deep dive in Aespa lore they should also watch SMCU ep.1 there's a lot more storytelling there. I think some of it's events start before or alongside Black Mamba.
SMCU ep.1: The aes and the real world living peacefully interconnected. Then Black Mamba breaks through The Flat (where the aes and Naevis reside) to infect them hence why ae-Karina has that dark aura. At the end of it Naevis enlists the aes to confront Black Mamba in Kwangya (a seperate outside location to The Flat). She opens p.o.s (a portal) to Kwangya for them to go in.
Black Mamba: The real Aespa now knows of the entity that caused the disruption of their Synk (connection) with the aes. They going to work to find a way to connect with them back and stop the Black Mamba.
Next Level: "Naevis calling!" I think at some point while in Kwangya the aes are lost and Naevis now asks the help of real Aespa to find and retrieve them.
Savage: As they get closer to Black Mamba in Kwangya they encounter obstacles where they have to be more Savage. In the chorus it's like they're taunting it to get them first before they become stronger. I think at some point Black Mamba got to Naevis as she tries to protect Aespa and that caused her demise. Hence why they're thanking her and her sacrifices. So they're completely just by themselves now. Once they finally find Black Mamba they kill it and we're left with that.
My theory: Black Mamba has already infected ae-Karina or it changed the aes while she held them hostage in Kwangya. So there's gonna be an evil vs good self showdown next time. Kinda like EXO and X-EXO.

So much planning put into making an MV. My favourite parts were the chorus with that really cool dance move at 4:27 & just the head movement plus awesome camera work at 8:02. Those were amazing!

This morning I woke up and saw everyone uploading reactions. Like first On My Block drops on a Monday and now this MV on a Tuesday. It threw me off, but this song is such a ride. It only took two listens for me to like it. Hope they have a lot of live stages.

Maybe the reason why the way to defeat the black mamba was to shoot that giant eye, is because the giant eye represents their ae, since eye and ae sound the same. So it’s also symbolic because they’re destroying the eye or ae, meaning that they’re destroying their ae’s.
And while it seemed like the solution was so simple, that to destroy the black mamba was to just shoot the giant eye that has been behind their backs this whole time (they’ve been dancing in front of it which I think is also symbolic of how the ae of themselves have always been beside them and even kind of watching over them, which gives the pressure of having that ae perfect self), it is incredibly symbolic and therefore a crucial point of attack.

yo i've been waiting for you reaction since the mv came out!
Their music style is like NCT, but although I like NCT, it really depends on the song or unit, so with NCT music it happened to me many times that their songs were not for me and I felt like it was “too experimental/forced to be experimental”.
With Savage it works without any problem for me, but only if I am watching the music video as well.
When I listen only to that song on its own, I feel like I am missing something.
Like there already should have been some AR in my glasses, when I walk around and listen to that song 😅😅

so, the real members live in the real world (obviously), whereas the virtual members live in the FLAT.
naevis teleports all of them so then they can be together in kwangya so they can fight the black mamba altogether.
I Think in this MV their already arrived at kwangya with help by Nævis through P.O.S and defeated black mamba, but they realize that it just hallucination, and the member got trapped in kwangya.

Excellent video as always! I especially loved the "lore" analysis. Your theory is super interesting, and I think it makes a lot of sense with that bridge. The lyrics seem to be worshipping the naevis as some sort of Christ-like figure, (even seeing them after the "resurrection") even though the naevis may not really be as well-intentioned as they think. Perhaps something about social media lying to us about how healthy or necessary it is for our lives.
As a sidenote, I love that kpop groups have lore now, like they're an Elder Scrolls game or something. It's so extra and ridiculous, yet somehow very charming. I like that it encourages groups to go for a specific and cohesive concept like aespa does, instead of just doing random trends.

When SM first came out with the idea people kept mocking it and making it seem like it was crazy stuff. Now people are getting on board with it and trying to make it seem like SM hasn’t been a visionary agency for years now. Again, let’s give credits when it’s due.

@@Korijira well that's just 1 of the dozen active Kpop groups. From what I know since like BoA or Shinee all SM groups have an overarching concept or lore. While other groups jump from one concept to another per comeback.
My theory has always been that Black Mamba is the dark aspect of Naevis so there's a possibility Naevis orchestrated everything or that Black Mamba can corrupt Naevis itself and turn her bad.
Sm pretty much created the lore thing in kpop i remember when exo debuted they are "aliens" and they have superpowers ksksksks they also the a villain called "the red force" 🤧
