That said, the Pokemon move Hypnosis puts Pokemon to sleep, which is as close to the first step of real hypnosis as can occur in the Pokemon universe (there is no "trance" status condition), so I'd say Hypno may well not be a fraud. That said, considering he doesn't perform the actual hypnosis, who knows?
Actually, as someone who has grown up around hypnosis as a result of both my parents and my grandmother being certified hypnotists, I can say with a sizable degree of certainty that what I said is true.
