One of the most annoying things out there are windshield wipers that make streaks. You need the windshield wipers so you can make sure you have a good view, especially in bad weather. But over time, the wiper blades wear more and more, moreover, they get dirty, which ensures an increasingly poor wiping result. But in this video I want to show you a little trick how you can maintain your wiper blades so that they are like new afterwards.
In the first case, you should make sure that the wiper blades are not completely torn or missing parts. Because then even the care no longer helps and you need new wiper blades. But if they are still ok, you can take some WD-40 and clean your wiper blades with it.
Make some WD-40 on a cloth and rub with it the wiper blades properly. This will get them nice and clean and smooth again. Also, it can help if you clean your windshield. Since dirt on the windshield can also cause poor wiping results.
After that, there should be no more streaks when you use your wipers and you'll have a clear view again. Try this ingenious trick therefore also with you necessarily once!

Works on mirrors too. You coat the bathroom mirror with shaving cream let it sit on for a few minutes and then wipe the cream off. Your mirror will not fog up due to hot showers for a few weeks. I been using this thing for years.

Don't do this as it will leave an oily residue on your windshield and cause hazing on the outside. Use straight up rubbing alcohol with a microfiber towel. I use 90% rubbing alcohol and make sure to use stoners streak free glass cleaner as it is some really good window cleaner. Clean the window 2 or 3 times if needed until your windshield is clean of all the dirt in the clogged pores.
Wouldn’t the alcohol dry out the rubber.??

You don't have to put anything on your wiper blades, just wipe them with a damp paper towel to clean them.

I tried this when all these identikit channels first started suggesting it 6 months ago. It causes the windscreen to be virtually opaque at night in rain because of the epic smears caused by the siloxanes in the WD40. It took me 45 minutes to get it off the glass using soap, mineral spirits, ethanol and acetone. And the wipers were still noisy.

Yeah just clean your windshield with glass cleaner and buy new wipers. I do believe in Rainex though
@@sharonmccode4360 Yes, try it, BUT, be sure and use the WD-40 SILICONE, and not the regular WD-40 !!!! Regular WD-40 is not good on rubber !!
This will ruin your windscreen rubber, and make a mess on the window. All you need is good quality windscreen wipers, such as Bosch Aerotwins, I’ve had them for 2 years on my car, they are absolutely silent, and clean the screen perfectly every time.
In 20 years of driving, I’ve never put anything on my windscreen on the outside, apart from car soap and water, I’ve never needed to spray crap on the screen, including rain x
A lot of these channels have so called experts that give helpful hints on doing things ! Some know what they are talking about, and some don't ! What seems like a good idea, might not be ! That's why I always do some extra checking around...before I take their advice !

Don't use the regular WD-40 ! Use the silicone WD-40 ! There is a difference, and it matters !

@@geminil2415 I didn't know anything about silicone WD-40 either untill recently ! I couldn't find it locally (?) so I ordered it on line, which was expensive, cause the shipping cost was about as much as the stuff !? ( Also, the directions say to shake the can for a minute or two ! )

When the noise is severe due to the aging of the wiper, just grind the pencil graphite into a powder with the tip of a knife and put it on a tissue and wipe the wiper to restore the graphite coating.
Or just use powdered graphite...

@@GregAkers Joking aside, putting Vaseline on your windshield is a similarly stupid idea to spraying WD40 on your windshield or wipers. The reason for squeaking wipers is both old rubber on the wipers but mainly (and if the wipers are new and still squeak) and a greasy windshield. The grease gets on the glass from oil that appears on the road and for example water splashing gets it on the windscreen. Degreasing the windshield is the only way to go, and I recommend cleaning it with steel wool or a razor blade as well. Unfortunately, usually even plain rubbing alcohol is not enough to degrease, but you need to use some stronger solvent (isopropyl alcohol, acetone, etc). ATTENTION to damage the paintwork - be careful !!!

Don't use WD-40 please. Use a product called 303 Protectant. It will make your wipers like new again plus it will not damage the rubber or silicon over time. This one should be phased out!
Soaked all my belts in 303 for a day 3 years ago no cracks and look like new! Serpentine belts! Never will crack!

Noooooooooo!!!! Never apply Wd40 to rubber, also it makes a terrible stain on glass, that needs to be removed with degreaser! Water and paper towel is the best solution.

I use brake cleaner, doesn't harm the rubber wipers at all. Far cheaper than WD-40 silicone.
WD40 will destroy the rubber ... use silicon grease/spray only
